  • You listen to Escape The Fate! Yay! Not to mention I agree with this XD

  • Your kinda adorable :3

  • i hate the fact that i am going through the same thing, i have a list of piercings i want and dont plan to get them because i can not have the career i want it sucks

  • you are beautiful, i love your piercings

  • I hear ETF in the background..<3 I have that CD(: And hun, you're gorgeous. And this whole thing made my night.

  • I disagree with saying people with piercings and people without piercings are the same..Id think a person with piercings and tattoos add character to a person! and id rather work with someone with a personality. xoxo From Canada, P.s...Homophobics? those still exist, its like going birdwatching and seeing birds you thought were extinct ? soon enough they will be extinct just like the dodo birds <3 It will take time.

  • You'll probably think I'm just being a bit picky with this, but getting a job in a food place, cafe, restaurant etc, is difficult if you have piercings, not because they judge you, but because of the risk of contamination if a bit of skin or the back of a stud falls in. I have this problem every day and use plugs in my ears to prevent contamination :)

  • People will always judge by what they see... God judges the soul and your heart! God made you beautiful and no matter what we do to accentuate that, that never changes! I hope someday we can live in a world that people are not judged and treated differently, but for now we have to fight to be who we are. Don't ever give up! You're a great person and God loves you pierced or not, gay or straight, man or woman! :]

  • My hair is red and black, and I have my lower lip pierced. I also live in Alabama. I suppose I've been fortunate that no holy rollers have gotten rude with me yet - I honestly don't think I could hold back the attitude. I got very lucky: I work somewhere that recognizes I do a great job regardless of how I look. People just aren't used to awesomeness on our level - we're so epic it shows on the outside. Not true with everyone! C:

  • You remind me of Lisbeth Salander :)

  • Awesome...I agree...

  • You're awesome. Period.

  • You look great !

  • Those college students don't sound very nice. If I were you, I would have shoved my boot through their faces. You should do what I did and open up your own business. I'm all pierced up with a bunch of tattoos and I have had the entire rainbow in my hair and no one says shit to me about it.

  • I agree with you. I've had my eye brow pierced twice. ( two different occasions one at a time ) and removed because of "dress codes." When working in kitchens, in the back, where no one can see me. It sucks, cause it was a really good look for me, but needing money to live, just gotta suck it up and be plain.

  • Girl, I feel for ya. When I was 16 I had a mohawk and had every hair colour in the book. Be who you are and stand up for yourself. But I'm just saying, I would be very scared to have some of those piercings coming anywhere near my vagina. Ouch.

  • Humans are judgmental and really, the only way to get around it is to not be heavily modified, be able to hide modifications, find a job where they don't care about modifications, or remove all piercings and hide tattoos as best as possible. I have soon be 3/4" stretched ear lobes, my lip pierced, and will be starting to get more and more tattoos. I must live in a great area because they only people who noticeably judge me are old ladies. I know where I can and can't work and I deal with it.

  • Well..not everyone have ten fingers and ten toes..but I see your point. :P But I guess people see your point. As long as you are able to do the job (Strong, healthy enough) or old enough (if it´s a job with a certain age limit), you should get it.

  • It´s actually made a law in some countries that says that a workgiver can´t jugde a person by the looks, sexual orientation, religion, sex or race, when making new employees.

  • You.. Are fucking beautiful.. Just had to put that out there...

  • the only part i disagree with you on is the bein gay and dressing the way you do in alabama i live in alabama and there is homophobic people everywhere but there is alot of people who accept others

  • yup fully right,is soo anoying having to take my peicings out for work, and i have to remember to put them back in,because i heal really really fast....naww thats sad, strick guidelines what assholes.. . its fuckn sad that a person who has lots of piecing/tattoos sort of get pushed in the direction of you can only work in a piercing /tatto shop..im not saying you didnt want to do that anyway.. but you should have a choice on where you want to work, and where you want to go in life..

  • your tottally right about how it shouldn't dictate but judgmental people don't know how to deal

  • Man I know what you mean! I am 17 in high school trying to get a job at any place i can and nothing. I have been looking for a job for two years and yet have to been employed. I am in Alabama and have stretched ears a a septum. Of course i hide the septum and take my plugs out for a interview but nothing seems to work... :/ society is a judgmental bitch

  • I feel ya girl, I'm from Indiana, I am a lesbian, I have both eyebrows, nostrils done 3 times, lip, tongue, septum, lobes stretched to 9/16 of an Inch. and tattoo's on my arms. So I get it just for being a lesbian, but add everything else on top of it, People shouldn't be judged for any aspect of their lives, race, religion, sexual orientation, piercings, tattoo's. My wife is a MtF transgender women who gets shit daily. people are judgmental, bigoted assholes who are insecure with themselves.

  • Same here. Angelbites, double spider bites, septum, bridge and cheek piercings. I really, really wanted to take ballet lessons (I even hid all my piercings, except bridge, and cheek, of course.) I walked in and the teacher LAUGHED right in my face. No holding back. I never felt so insulted or embarrassed in my life. People look at me like I'm a freak or get intimidated, when all it is, is freedom of expression and jewelry. I got a job working at a tattoo parlor, only place that would accept me.

  • it's a factor because that many peircings or exposed tattoos looks unprofesional. i myself have exposed tattoos so i do have the same issue

  • I have only a few mods but it still offends me the way companies treat body mods. I dont even WANT to work at such close minded places :/ it is the same as someone telling me i need to flatiron my hair bc big curly hair isnt professional.

  • preach.

    This, one thousand percent this!

  • I agree with you completely.

  • Society is messed up

  • I agree, it's completely redundent... on a random note, your hair is amazing.

  • I am so looking forward to leaving Alabama. I have lived in several states though and there are people everywhere I go that want to judge me because of my tattoos and piercings. I am originally from the west coast, but I am headed up north in the next month or so. I already have a job lined up and they don't care what I look like. We may be different but that doesn't mean that we are not smart or capable.

  • Yeah I understand what you're saying. I live in the deep south as well and me just having simple snakebites, which if I went to a big city wouldn't be a big deal, around here gets looks and stares.

I had finally gotten a job where I could have my piercings, but then left it and now I'm struggling to find another that will let me. I held my first job for 3 years and they begged me not to leave. I have been late ONCE and that was because I got into a car accident.

I can do a good job dammit!

  • NICE a death note fan^^ and this world sucks;S piercings and tatoos are... the future! so much people have got piercings, so they should... accept it! (and i should work on my english;S nice whishes from germany)

  • So true

  • I respect you, this is so true, people are very racist, no matter what

  • You are hot! I love all your metal!

  • Ur hot (:

  • Wow... I love yer metal!!! Its a shame society can't handle us... just because I have 29 piercings doesn't mean I'm gonna show up late or fuck up... its all bullshit!

  • You are GORGEOUS.

  • Thank you for being, well YOU, you are, an inspiration to everyone

  • You're my favorite zombie girl.

  • ETF in the background <3 (:

  • It is a form of discrimination and a lot of people cannot realize individuality at all. I have piercings and tattoos at work. Just remember that every one has a right to do what they want.

  • I agree 100 percent with u... Nd ur hot!!! Hsha just sayin :)

  • If god didn't want u to be gay he wouldn't have made u gay don't let others people jugde u be u and that is all that counts

  • you have the SAME EXACT piercings as me!! (in the face) H!GH F!V3?

  • I adore you <3

  • Thanks so much for doing this, I've been thinking about getting a tattoo for some time now and the only thing that's getting in my way is seeing whether it'll hinder my future job prospects.

  • hell yeah!! i live in texas, (kind of the ghetto area) and i had to take my eyebrow piercing out for my job at mcdonald's. but man, half of our customers have tattoos and piercings, it's fuckin ridiculous. i can reccommend working at a call center though, my mom works at the verizon one in town and her manager has a foot long colored mohawk and tattoos, so they really don't care about body mods.

  • For example, i have three very very successful tattoo shops in my city.. guess what, everyone who works there is trying to compeet with the other employees there who has the most huge ear stretch or how many piercings etc, because in that kind of line of business that sells! but u can't expect to help a wide audience company with their marketing with piercings. and yes when they SEE you make the burger in mcdonalds you ARE part of their marketing!

  • You're right, body mods don't dictate your job performance, and don't get me wrong, I'm a modified person myself. I have a lot of piercings all over, face, ears, body, ect., so it's not like I'm going against it, but the reason that places don't hire modified people is because they don't want to make themselves look "unprofessional". They like to keep the good reputation I guess, because there are too many people that think body modification is gross and wrong..

  • Fuck the close mindedness!! You look good girl!!

  • you can actually get them in trouble now for discriminating against you cause you have piercings or tattoos. I seen it happen here in MA. an it wasn't a place like Hottopic or Spencer's it was this super high tech computer\lab geek kind of place.

  • Amen. I say that all the time. It's just another form of discrimination. Nice video and love your style. =)

  • Thank you some much Zombie, this video stopped me from getting fired from my job.

  • people have a right to self expression and other people should just accept that. you shouldnt have to change your visual image for anyone, youre just being yourself and i agree with you on this entirely xxx

  • Totally agreed.

  • i toTALLY AGREE WITH YOU,!

  • I want yer necklace... @.@

seriously, you just said my thoughts. I've gotten my first lip piercing, I'm planing to get 3 more in the future, and a couple of tattoos. But I know that will make it hard for me to get a job or apartment.

I don't understand why people are so judgemental by looks.

Piercings are jewelry, and tattoos are art. It doesn't change my personality in anyway.

  • I agree 100% Having any kind of body mod does not make you an incapable worker. People really need to stop being ignorant and give others a chance.

  • Completely agree with you. :) Issues ~ Escape the Fate :D

  • you speak nothin but truth :) we are always told from a young age to be ourselves and when we do we cant even get a job :/ your beautiful dont forget it x

  • employers want you to be jus like bob ;P appeal to the masses n stick to the mainstream basically. its ridiculous, i agree with everything you said.

  • the ramifications for body modifications is ridiculous in our society... I agree with you one hundred percent

  • i have to admit, when i clicked on this video i thought ; what a freak(i'm sorry) but i decided to watch the whole video and i realized that ur actually really pretty and you seem like a really nice person to talk to, and stuff.then i liked this video :3<3

  • i fully agree!!!!!! cause i cant ever get a job cause of my tattoos and piercings... its stupid.... oh yea i love your hair lol kinda random

  • I totally agree. It's bull. I live in cowboy ass Wyoming and if you don't dress preppy or relaxed wester, you are considered weird and are a pariah :/

  • it's about codes and bean counters! the liability too.. they gotta abide to the rules or they lose their license. besides i wouldn't want to work in those environments anyhow.

  • EXACTLY AMEN TO THAT

  • PEOPLE=SHIT,stupid close minded racist humanity

  • Unfortunately, people are shallow. They don't see you, they see your mods.

  • It is hard because we don't look serious. They look at us and say oh, there's that chic w/ the septum piercing and purple hair, she must be angst ridden and rebellious. It is a stereotype really. but I don't really want someone with a fresh piercing making my food, because it can be unsanitary. bleh. As far as tattoos go, that shouldn't even matter or be an issue. people tend to get uncomfortable with things that are different. Professionals have to hide those things so they r taken seriously

  • yea i can't even work at a fucking mcdonalds with piercings :/ its pretty f-in dumb...,

  • Ur so true on that !!!!! it so stupid on how ur judged on the way u look my dad was like u won't get a job wen ur older with all these piercings I've got but I av took a piercing course and I'm goin to carrie that on wen I'm 18 so yer I'm going Into piercings wen I'm older so why don't u ??!! and death note for the win and ur so pretty don't let no o e bring u down like I let them !!!! :)

  • You're so amazingly gorgeous. My ex girl couldn't get a job for ages because she had a tattoo on her upper arm and the uniform involved wearing a short-sleeved shirt ¬¬ so like... wtf? when they found out that she dated ME on top of that, I'm surprised they didn't set the dogs on the both of us :/

You sound like an amazing girl, so tell Alabama to SUCK IT, finish college as amazingly as I imagine you can and go someplace you're appreciated for all the right things! Good luck to ya beaut! x

  • ... you are too gorgeous. And I COMPLETELY agree with what you're saying. I found it hard to get a job too with my snakebites and stretchers and tattoos.

    Anywho. Fack, you're gorgeous :)

  • Most people are judgmental, cruel and ignorant. They fear what they do not understand, and torture people who are not like them. Do not give up. Employers need to get with the program, a person can look like an angel with no tattoos or piercings and be a perfect bitch to customers or fellow workers. I wish you all the best.

  • For starters I'd like to say that you look amazing. I like piercings and tattoos even though I'm not covered in them so respect for that... And I wholeheartedly agree with your pov but instead of having to fight an uphill battle it is easier at the moment to just bend and change your appearance for your job until it does get socially acceptable to have tattoos and piercings that are visible.

  • I hear you, girl. I agree that looks don't dictate how well you work. In my job, they want me to wear heels because it's more "professional". But heels actually hinder my ability to do my job as quickly and efficiently as I do.

Great video! But it would help if you didn't play music. It was very distracting and made it hard to listen to you while trying to figure out what the song was.

  • I fucking love you SO ENCHANTING ♥

  • Fuck all of the people who don't hire people because of piercings\ tattoos

I love you're piercings :D seriously they look awesome, I want to get the piercings that you have but my parents say people wont hire me.

People are so judgmental these days, people think that I dye my hair black and I'm pale I'm emo ( nothing is wrong with that) but it bothers me that people just assume things by the way you look.

    Btw i love all you're videos :D

  • i totally agree :D thank you!!

  • I agree with the message behind this video 100% and I am glad to see I'm not the only one. But the rest of society, those who control businesses and corporations aren't on the same level. To get any sort of acceptance and equal treatment compared to people without mods will take a long period of time, sadly.

  • OMG you will be so successful. Your articulation of thoughts and wording is so out of this world! Oh, I like how you mention about being successful and flipping burgers just as good as a high school student, touche.

  • I know what you are talking about. This goes for punks as well. Walk up to almost any TRUE punk, regardless of what hairdo he or she has or what types of body modifications, and you will find that they are just as intelligent if not more than a "normal" person. What I mean about true punk is looking and acting and thinking the way we do, and not being in it for the image. Its a way of life. And I'll live my life however the fuck I want to. Being a punk is about being yourself.

  • You just changed my state of mind towards an Individual. I cant believe how damn stupid I've been to always judge people just by their dress. I must have a damn IQ of 1 and I used to think I was pretty clever lol Good video anyway keep it .

  • I love you for everything you just said!

  • This is so Fucking true, just because we have body modifications doesn't necessarily mean we can't do anything someone else can.

  • I love this video

  • You know, you could always go with the Corp Goth look. That always looks cool, and is still professional in the workplace :)

But yes, it shouldn't matter how we all look.

  • I work in the IT industry and have for 15 years. Our office hires people based on skill, not how they look. I have multiple facial piercings (same ones as you, minus the labret) and many visible tattoos. And orange hair, heh. So far, it's never been any issue where I work. Good luck!

  • "Piercings and tattoos do not dictate whether or not you can do a job correctly."

Exactly. I understand if someone was not hired because of offensive tattoos that were visible to coworkers and customers. Now, I luckily have a chill boss who doesn't quite care about having tattoos covered. I work at a convenience store. I'm told I'll have a hard getting another job because of my visible tattoos; "Stormblown" and "Grace and Glory" in Norwegian on each of my wrists. We'll just have to see.

  • The contract that I signed to get a job at Kroger said that I would have to limit my ear piercings to 2 in each ear & keep my tattoos covered. (At the time, I had 3 ear piercings in each ear & 1 tattoo) I now have 9 tattoos & I'm planning on getting more piercings. I recently got a tattoo on my arm and the manager at my store hasn't said anything about it. He also doesn't really care if people have 2 or 30 piercings...just as long as he has cashiers. Your video rocks by the way :D

  • I hate the fact that today's society makes judgements by appearance as opposed to actually getting to know the person for who they are! It's lazy....people are too lazy to actually realize and COMMUNICATE with people with tattoo's, piercings etc....i think piercings and tattoo's are an amazing way for people to express themselves... it's their body...not urs...let them do what they like. If employers don't understand that then they should be fire in my opinion!

  • I totally fucking agree. I wanna dye my hair like electric green but my mom wont let me because it will effect me getting a job. Im a 17 year old girl in high school. Im not like doing my proffesion or anything! Its just like a summer or side job. and if youre not hiring me because of the way I look its exactly like not hiring for color religion or sexuality

  • There will come a day, maybe not soon, but there will be a fucking day where tats and piercings don't matter, but they really do now :(

It's mostly because of religion and people getting offended by it which is bullshit!

  • you are amazing. nuff said

  • you're so right. fuck society.

  • Maybe this is a bit judgemental, but a very very large number of people I know with piercings and tattoos are smarter than those without. *shrug*

  • I completely agree with you.

  • Some jobs you can't have piercings and tattoos, not too many places but places like a fast food/ processing factory, where your piercing jewelry could fall in the food, and obviously you know what happens from there, and for tattoos, idk really other than a high class prissy bitch place, which who wants to work there anyways?

  • For the record you are beautiful. Not saying that in a cheesy way either. You really are :)

  • The whole idea that you are a lesser person because of how you look annoys me. I personally am am not a modified person. If I feel like if you want to have piercings, dyed hair, or some surgical work done is shouldn't matter. You could have all that work done and still be a harder worker, more polite person than someone with no mods at all. In my state (Ohio), you cant even volenteer at some places if your moded. Oh yeah well take all the help we can get, except for you, cause you look different

  • I'm about to do an investigative project on this at uni in my managing diversity unit. Hopefully it will add to the literature on the topic and discrimination laws may one day include body mods. Who gives a shit if you look different - doesn't stop you from doing your job properly

  • I think you look awesome, and i wish you the best of luck in getting a kick-ass job! :D

  • I hear ya girl. But hang in there because I know you could make it. You're a very beautiful girl :)

  • This video makes so much since. My mother calls me names because I have MY LIP pierced and pink hair. She needs to hop off my dick, I think I should show her this because she used to be one of the perfect preppy girls with blonde hair, But thanks! [:

  • I think the way u look is fine! I'd hire u no matter wat u looked like

  • first off... your fucking awesome. you look great, i like your personality, from what i see anyways.. and thats all that matters. ive had jobs in retail places where my style is sooooooo incredibly ridiculed and it sucks... but i can be hardworker like no ones business. i AM in college too... im in a painting major in boston.. and mass seems to be the most judgmental state in US and its hard to be employed.. but i live a goth lifestyle, may not dress it to an extent, but i do it for me. : D

  • Great video, I lived in Gadsden, Alabama, and it was just awful, you were lucky if you see a girl with one of her ears pierced. Saying you can't work here because you have body modifications is like saying you can't work here because your favorite band is Shinedown, for example. Tattoos and piercings are a part of you, whether you won't want them in ten years or not. Oh and you are soooooo gorgeous!

  • You should come over to the UK! Goth and Gay is no trouble here. I'm Goth and wear my piercings to work (well not my septum) and there are even laws to prevent discrimination in the workplace.

  • How can you be homophobic and work at Hot Topic? I don't even. But anyways, I was told my lip piercing (which was small and I tried to keep a small stud in for work) was going to cause customers to complain about my appearance and give the company a bad name. But we teach kids from a young age to not care what others think. But really, it should dictate your life if you ever hope to get a job and be a normal human. I don't understand this world.

  • Boy, do I know that feel =(. My heart sank when i heard you were from Alabama. That's where I live, too, and I've been looking for a job for about a year now and with blue hair and being pierced and tattooed I've had no luck whatsoever. Hopefully someday things will change, but for right now its near impossible to be employed and be modified in some places. Sad but true. Much love from one Zombie to another, and if I had a place of business I'd hire you for sure!

  • I agree with everything you say. In all honesty, let's just say our society is fucked up. We all tell ourselves to never judge a person by the way they look or the things they are into, but we always have the people who's judgemental and never accept that fact that there are other people who are different than they are. Thanks for making this vid and BTW you're very pretty :)

  • I totally understand. I live in Louisiana and I go through pretty much the same stuff here. I don't have any visible body mods because I just don't have the money to get them yet but I am a lesbian. And apparently that is frowned apon in the stupid south. I've gotten fired because I was gay. I've been bullied and beaten. Its stupid that people can't get passed things like who you love or how you look to see the true person inside. I loved your rant btw. <3

  • Modifications shouldn't affect work and to not employ someone because of how they look is discrimination. Unfortunatly it does happen, but it doesn't matter really, employers who reject you probably wouldn't be nice to work with anyway.

  • I think the thing that disappoints me most about this day and age is the fact that people think it's okay to tell other people what to do and how to live their lives. What happened to people minding their own freaking business and respecting others for their choices? People shouldn't have to suffer and be ridiculed because they wanted a body modification or loved someone of the same gender.

  • the people who judge are the ones that are to afriad to be themselves and yes DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER SO FREAKIN TRUE !!!!!!!!!

  • Tats and piercings are a norm now days..you cant go 10 mins w/o seeing at least 3-5 ppl with one or the other..and as far as you not getting a job bc of it is bs..Live your dreams!!

  • I completely agree. What people look like has no effect on their skills and capabilities.

  • Agreed! You speak the truth.

  • You have a wonderful point. My parents think that my piercings are gonna hinder me when I go to collage and stuff.. Awesome music by the way, Escape The Fate <3

  • i love u

ur so pretty and so smart

people are very scared of different things

  • I agree! I don't have as many body mods as you but I do have stretched ears and I get comments all the time saying that I am never going to get a "real job"... It boils my blood that some people think that just because you have piercings or tattoos that it automatically makes you less of a human. I don't get it :/

anyway, I subscribed to your channel because I think your a pretty cool person that speaks the truth and Plus, your hair color is AMAZING!!!! :3 Thanks for this video!

  • why do you refer to people who do not have tattoos/piercings "normal"? What makes them so called normal? eventually "corporate America" will have no choice but to accept people who choose to express themselves and not be scared to live life to the fullest. honestly I laugh at those who don't have tattoo's or piercings cause they look so plain..but that wouldn't keep me from hiring them..so do like I do ..if they can't accept you FUCK EM! btw you look gorgeous with your red hair and piercings!

  • i agree sis. it sucks how screwed up or world is. acceptance is the hardest thing to achieve now a days :(

  • I know that pain...I live about 20 min away from Alabama...

and you can't even try to get a job unless your related to the boss

or apart of their damn clique...
