  • "Bert, this may seem like a ridiculous question...but uh what are you doing?"

  • Ernestine Is Performed By Brian Muehl

  • This Is From "The Best Of Bert And Ernie"

  • Bernice Is SOOO Cute!

  • Long Live Jim Henson

  • Poor Ernie

  • Poor Ernestine

  • This is my favorite Ernie and Bert sketch. Mostly because it's Old School which I love.

  • I think the best seasons was from the beginning to the end of 80's...

  • classic

  • @callmedeathstroke MMM HMM

  • Hehehehe.

  • "In the ten games we've played, she's only beaten me twice."

    Classic!

  • @quizmaster85 LOL

  • I like the 70's of sesame street

  • I agree. The 80's Sesame Street was okay too.

The 90's are when it started going downhill.

  • Yeah, now in 2009 they replaced all the funny ones like, Cookie Monster, and the Count with all these animated clay things... And the "Word on the Street". The only funny classics left are Elmo and Mr. Noodle. The rest is all changing. The 80's and 90's were mostly the funniest. Then when it reached around 2005's it started to get weird. But I still watch it. Its still a very good show! lol And I'm still laughing. SESAME STREET RULES!

  • Elmo never was very funny to me. Especially Elmo's World. It's always the same except for the item in question.

  • True... But at least they kept it on all these years, right?

  • No. The 90's was still good. It was when 2000 hit is when it all went to the gutter.

  • @jtomally9681

I understand what you mean. It was at the start of this millinium that "Elmo's World" started on monopolize the show!

  • @BuckWilliams17 I agree

  • @BuckWilliams17 I have to disagree there a bit. The 90's had some real good ones too. It was the late 90's when Sesame Street went downhill.

  • @jtomally9681 Okay, I think I can agree with that. 1998 is when Elmo's World debuted. I think we can both agree that by that time, Sesame Street was on the road of no return.

  • @BuckWilliams17 Yeah I think I will have to agree there.

  • @jtomally9681 Me 2

  • @BuckWilliams17 That's because so many of the Sesame Street creators died in the 90s, including Jim Henson.

  • @CaptMARNEY RIP Jim Henson

  • Another one of my favorite sketches from Sesame Street! :D

  • Bernice is a beautiful bird

  • Wow. I laughed. XD

  • They actually aired this segment in a recent Sesame Street episode last year. It was probably the oldest skit shown that season!

  • Probably the only Bert and Ernie sketch from the 1970's that has ever aired on the show during this time. They did show a few Bert and Ernie sketches from the 70's during Season 33, but starting in Season 34, the only sketches where we got to see Jim as Ernie were from the 80's.

  • Yes, it seems that Season 33 was the last season to show the classic segments on a near-regular basis

  • But some of those '90s remakes they currently show have '70s audio.

  • *gasp* And it's from "The Best Of Ernie And Bert" tape! That's the only place I've seen this one!

  • lol at 00:43 who was that

  • hahaha

    silly bert

  • I think it's cute how they got a real live pigeon to play Bernice, even cuter than Dorothy the Goldfish. I bet some of this was improvised since they were working with a live bird.

  • So much for the "birdbrain" insult!
