@jodhz1110 you dont need an MPC to sample,you can use your cpu. Im too lazy to get into it but you may wanna check out the program Reason. As far as 40 type sounds you can a nice used Fantom, Triton or Motif if you hunt around. Or you could 'buy' a software synth,my favs are Z3ta+, Sylenth1 and Nexus. Google that and you should be on your way. If you really wanna take it serious you need to save your money and get the real equipment. I use Logic Pro on my Macbook and a Roland Gaia Synth

@jodhz1110 lol google is your friend!! Just get a decent PC/Laptop. Then you need a DAW. Reason,Pro Tools,Logic, Fruity Loops,Sonar etc there's so many you can try demos and look at vids to see what suits you.I strongly suggest reason. Reason also has its own sampler,drum sequencer and synth sounds so you can do all that in the box. If you wanna go for it though, like I said I use Logic Pro for Mac which ran me $500. Then you have to decide if you want to use hardware or software synths.

@jodhz1110 Some people like the feel of analog synthesizers as opposed to digital workspaces and synthesizers. Not to mention how expensive hardware is, compared to software. And availability. I've been using FL Studio for years now. It's easy to use, portable, and there are loads of free VSTs I can download. I'd love to get an analog drum kit or synthesizer though. The feeling of tweaking knobs until you get the right sound.
