Nice to hear that Stilettos sound good with Tool. I'll be getting a Stiletto Elite very soon. Can't wait, I'm sure it will hold its own until I get a Music Man Stingray 5.
This bass is great for metal. Very versatile sounds (for those of us who can't afford a Warwick) and I'm gettin' the 6 string Studio anyways, so I'm trying to get everything I can out of it.
A fantastic bassist in one of the local tech death bands I've shared the stage with plays a Stiletto Custom 4 and it sounds incredible. He has a lot of leads and it holds up greatly.
you guys think a stiletto studio 4 would be good for tool? im choosing between that and a peavey cirrus 4 bxp. no idea what i want more. both not available to try at guitar center.
@eiphonebassplayer I got mine because I like the low b mainly, also because a 5 string is so versitile. The same question can be asked about why one would buy a 7 or 12 string guitar its all about ersonal preferance.
hey man great cover, by the way im thinking about getting myself the schecter stiletto custom 5, or an ibanez srx 595, can anyone tell me which one is better? thanks
You're just standing like a real guitar player LOL

A lot of TOOL's songs can be considered metal. They are definitely metal oriented... personally I don't like to think of them as any one genre tho...

tool is metal sher maynards vocals arent very low sounding but thier METAL
jaededify 2 years ago
Maybe you don't realize this, but the Bass is what is playing the riff the entire intro long. Why did you wait so long before playing yourself?

Great . . . except Tool isn't a Metal band.

Did I say they were? Shhh
PrinceOfBabylon666 2 years ago
No, merely implied it by saying his bass was 'great for metal.'

Is 500Watts On A Bass Amp Alot?
322072322072 3 years ago
hahah mines 30 watts and it can fill up my schools auditorium
JCO187 3 years ago
Then you probably are not playing with drums, Cuz 30 watts is not enough to hear over the drums !!!
Scorpioncrow45 2 years ago
500 watts is enough to monitor the stage in a medium gig. Anything bigger then a small gig and most of the bass comes from the in house system.
But it's always nice to have to much and turn it down rather then not be loud enough.

wat is the point of getting a 5 string bass????
eiphonebassplayer 3 years ago
LOL, well I have it for sale right now but I have a 7 string guitar and I sometimes write songs with a low B or A tuning. I like it.
rpack78 3 years ago
What's the point of a stringed guitar? ;)
Why not not only have four strings?
Easy answer, you want the longer tonal range and shorther distance for the fingers to travel. It's a matter of taste and needs.

@eiphonebassplayer
Man, what ever your style, I hate when people (especially bassists ) ask that ridiculous question.
Whether you think it's correct or not, it's purely trivial;
MORE STRINGS EQUALS MORE RANGE IN SOUND.

@eiphonebassplayer Five extra notes, you uneducated cunt.

im thinking about the olp tony levin sig. bass it looks mad for the price
BassMastaK 3 years ago
Hmm, I don't think I'm familiar with that, I'll have to take a look see :o
MCLOVIN50 3 years ago
yeah man, bc rich's are REALLY bad instruments
if you want a quality bass, its either Schecter or Warwick
but Schecter basses are much cheaper for the quality
nekrotic13 3 years ago
I have a Custom 4 and its sooooo nice.
1337RulerSean 2 years ago
Hey im gonna by a bc rich bass (bronze), do u think thats a good idea or what brand u prefer the most?? thanks bdw, sweet cover :P
PsychoMenkz 3 years ago
Dont buy a BC rich man, they suck!
I would suggest an ibanez, or a schecter depending on what kind of price range your looking for.
MCLOVIN50 3 years ago
dude you are an awesome player on bass too! Hell yeah man.
TOOLbassplayer 3 years ago
Nice. You did a nice job on that one. Krav Maga? You must be bad ass on the bass and someone's face!
jcs9000g 3 years ago
I try to channel my face bashing skills into my music. Meaning I hit people over the head with my guitar.

lol, *knife to throat* "Give me your fucking wallet, pussy!"
*raises hands* "ok, chill! I'll give you what you want! "
*Blade kick to knee cap while locking wrist to chest *
Get 'em on the ground and bash them in the temple with the butt of the bass.
Talk about a finisher.
