Hi, I love to see these Robots and all the work that is done at the backstage just to give some kind of life to these machines, and I enjoyed a lot with this demo, Congratulations. :)
where is actually living this robot?? in wich lab??
Match, the mechanics of making it walk at all are HIGHLY dependent on the materials used to make the joints flex. Movement is also LIMITED by those same materials. Believe me when I say that you're looking at the best efforts of well schooled robotics engineers who have done the best they can with limited resources and money.
I accept these comments, but must point out that ASIMO took over a decade of developement with top scientists, several prototypes and a bankroll of many millions. HUBO did not ... ;o)
it walks using ZMP strategy....not bad, but outdated.
It could never take longer steps or move faster if it keeps using ZMP stability...for better ideas, look at Limit Cycle Walking robots and other ideas, they have much less budget and have more innovative ideas
well, first off we're alive and and able to think. robots like this one are programmed. they have no free will. second, we have bones and muscles, skin and tissues that can bend and do other things that no robot could ever do. and third, our brain controls all of this movement, and can remember those moves. our brain is at least 100 times as fast and strong as a super-computer, even if we only consciously use 13% of it.
Sakarian Outcast, I'll try to cover as much as I can about what you wrote.
1. 'alive' and 'think' are both ambiguous terms that scientists still argue over to this day.
2. like any material, bones and tissues can be simulated. additionally, lots of OTHER materials bend and do other things - including things bone and muscle can not.
3. a robotic arm can remember movements more effectively and precisely than you can. that's why they build cars.
4. we do not only use 13% of our brain, that is a blatant myth. we use all of our brains, just at different times (like a circuit board). that's how it works. if you were to use all of your brain simultaneously, it would be called a seizure. it wouldn't make you any smarter, either.
Contrary to popular belief, governments can't usually come up with high technology originally and independently of civilian marketing institutions. Of course DARPA puts out contracts for robotic vehicles and the like, but they do it with universities. That's where the real work gets done. Obviously there are classified components to many things, but by and large, what you see on Youtube is about the limit of current robotic technology that is actually up and running.
people need to shut the hell up with all this wot useful things can it do shit, u need to go through these stages in order to get to the point where u can make something that can do more practical jobs, its called progress people.
Asimo's hand articulation isn't that good. There's great potential for KHR...as there is for Asimo too. Eventually we'll get there, we meaning humans and bots. I can only dream.
ir needs weapons and armor.... i kondo make a full-size humanoid....

Are you serious? These robots still require a human with a remote control to do anything useful. We're miles from self-aware, thinking humanoids.

cerobot fait beaucoup de mouvement mais rien d'utile c'est dommage !!

This is a beautiful robot. He exceeds ASIMO because he has individual finger movement, whereas ASIMO moves his fingers together.

rizlaman420 3 years ago
why do all humanoid robots rely on fucking rotary actuation? there will probably NEVER be a rotary-actuated robot that can really move like a human.
humans use primarily gravity and momentum to walk. rotary actuators are static. it'll never work the way it needs to.
vaundawg 3 years ago
i agree with u... it cant be smooth and efficient enough like this...
i guess... hydraulics might improve the efficiency ^.-
(nice video anyway)

hwud, check out pneumatic muscles. while they're far from perfect, they're closer in function to the way biomechanical movement happens.
