The people they talk about in this video aren't even the true christians. If they claim to be christian and do that, they are either very immature or don't know how to handle being a christian. Also, they act like EVERYONE Christian they meet does these things which I doubt is the case.
Has it not occurred to you that the reason young people want to have nothing to do with the REAL Gospel is that this is becoming an increasingly immoral world and that people can't stand to have their sins revealed? I for one welcome correction when it's warranted. "Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins" - James 5:19-20
has it not occured to you that it is the bible that is immoral while modern society has grown beyond it? or did you not realize that god commanded his followers to murder villages, kill those who worked on the sabbath, kill women who were not virgins on their wedding day, stone disobedient children to death, kill homosexuals, and many other attrocities. who holds the moral highground again? cuz it sure isn't the god of the bible.
Blah blah blah. I guess it doesn't matter what I respond with because my comments get deleted. Either way, in case you didn't get it the first time, let me reiterate: Blah blah blah blah blah.
Simply look at the comment below mine and you will see. It's nothing but propaganda. Slavery? Christians did more than ANYBODY to end slavery. Then they take one verse like "love your neighbor" and use it to excuse deviant behavior. If they don't like it, TOUGH. I, for one, will continue preaching the TRUE love of Christ. That while we are SINNERS, Christ died for us. Not so that we can continue sinning but so that we can be forgiven if we repent.
er maybe you should go back and reread your history. it was the morally correct god fearing southern christians that fought in the civil war to maintain slavery.
Er maybe you should do some more research before spouting your leftist crap. I suggest you start with "For the Glory of God" by Rodney Stark. Or, you know, any of the other 10 million sources that report the truth of how Christians helped end slavery in America IN SPITE of what others wanted.
and this would be the first time that christians were at war with christians of another denomination on what is considered morally correct? there were christians on both sides of that arguement using the bible to back both sides. this shows you how just how divine that magical book is doesn't it?
No, it shows just how imperfect people are. You know, like when people like you take something that a marginal amount of Christians were for and use it to generalize all Christians.
i wouldn't call the population of the southern republic a marginal amount of christians. maybe you don't think the south is composed of a large amount of christians. maybe you don't think that it was the north that was considered godless in this little debate. people like you show how much you can be in denial about history over religious convictions. there are also people who don't believe the holocause occured, and others who won't admit that hitler was catholic.
Oh, I didn't realize the entire population of the south were not only Christians but that every one of them believed slavery was a good thing. Like I said before, look into it instead of just automatically believing what you've been brainwashed with. That's what people like you like to tell Christians, isn't it? Too bad you can't practice what you "preach". Also, I do believe hitler thought he was "christian".
no not every southern christian thought it was ok to own slaves. and not all southern people were christians. however the majority were both. and i wasn't brainwashed with this idea. think about it, if it were any other way could the war have happened at all? if the majority of people in the south didn't think that owning slaves was worth fighting for would they have fought? if the majority of southern people did not beleive in god would it be such a major theme in the area?
And you seriously think slavery was THE reason for the war? I'm not getting into this any further. The truth is Christians were just as culpable as anybody for slavery in America BUT they were also responsible for a lot of the abolition movement. No amount of rewriting history will change the truth of that. Good day.
i could not agree more, Christianity has done horrible horrible things to this world, from discrimination to wars to slavery to conquering because it was their "god-given right" its bull crap all of it. they say 'love everyone love your neighbor etc." yet they say oh homosexuals are sinners they go to hell, they are 'unwell' and that people of other nationalities are below them, that even though they 'treat others as their equals' everyone who isn't JUST like them is inferior its ridiculous!

Why would comments that would seem to concur with the opinion of the user be deleted?
Beskargam 3 years ago
Maybe because they don't "concur". I don't believe in watering down the message of Christ in order to make it "relevant".
