  • Where did he get those kick-ass nikes?

  • I'm just surprised he didn't run into a pride of lions chasing an animal through the savanna for 8 hours.

  • amazing....i wish this planet was inhabited by respectfull and wise creatures as this hunter is...

  • Korowe the fucking psychopath. that man is an android.

  • Stupid Mamal Pretending Being natural , Yea , But Only If They didn't Cut the Hairs And Learn Running On 4 Feet And Running Sooo Fast Not Like @ 0:54

  • This is why I hate watching a fat redneck on the hunting channel drive his 4-wheelin' ass to tha stand so he can shoot tha big buck and praise jesus for the deer he will haul in the back of his pickup truck around town for the next week.

  • And now, find the way back!

  • wow Respect to these people amazing

  • This is such an excrutiatingly beautiful glimpse at our species. I cannot imagine what life is really like for these tribesmen. Having had only a life in the city, this glimpse, of the natural struggle to survive within these elements that David Attenborough is sharing of, is simply incredible! Thanks for sharing this clip.

  • Interesting way of hunting! But surly a short stalk and a spear with thrower or bow or even a rifle would be, not nessersarly more effective but less time consuming and using up less water/energy but then it's tradition I suppose. Still a very interesting way of hunting.

  • @MacDonaldSeumas You miss the point. This is the earliest form of hunting, before humans had guns, or bows, or even spears. Humans can out-run nearly every animal on Earth in an endurance race.

  • @drzachm We have the advantage in hot climates. The animal overheats and doesn't sweat nearly as much. In colder weather, the animal takes away our advantage and the only means to hunt is to use the element of surprise. Humans still accelerate faster than the prey if it carries more body weight.

  • @drzachm I know that :P our species has incredible indurance due to the lack of hair/fu, means more space for sweat glads and also that we walk on two legs. Here in europe stalking or driven game would be the only way of hunting for a stone age man or neaderthal. I'm just saying surely that could apply to africa too especially because it's hotter and water is much more precious. It would make more sense is all I'm saying.

  • @drzachm Human could, anyway. Nowadays, most of us can't run half a mile.

  • @MacDonaldSeumas you're retarded these are tribal people, they don't have guns you idiot. Hence the entire point of the video to show the origin of human survival techniques

  • @DBAY012 No shit sherlock. I think the footage of them with spears gives that away. I also understand that, you obviously misinterpreted what I was saying. Hmmmmmm I think I'm not the retarded one here :L Also tribes in africa use firearms or bows you do know right?

  • How did they kill the pray before they had steel spears? Smash them with rocks?

And its a little funny to see these hunters running after them in moderen shoes and shorts :P

  • @Batteri000 They chased it until the animal collapsed and died of exhaustion.

  • @Batteri000 used sharpe stones or waited untill it died of exustion

  • @Batteri000 They probably used arrow- and spearheads made from flint.

  • I'm moving to Africa so life will be simple

  • how does he find his way back?! and how is he going to carry that?!

  • These are just actors i suppose ..i believe the real tribe hunts even more efficiently than these hunters!

  • @alienkishorekumar What are you talking about? Watch the full documentary.

  • deep had to watch this for my class today...man life has changed so much since money became the main reason for living....

  • amazing video. loved it.

  • Beautiful.

I wish society was not based on money and corruption. Im not saying I wish society would revert bak to hunter/gatherer days, but Modern life sucks, to many tragedies.

  • @GnomeGuardian

Not so sure about that. Wars and conflicts where a constant threat. Diseases that we now don't even thing about could kill you. You might run out of food. Persecution from (or becuase of) religion etc. Of course depends on what year you would prefer to live in.

It is easy to think that everything was better before, but I think all over we are lucky to live in a time like these. (depending on where in the world you live though).

  • ...how the fuck is he going to haul that thing back?

  • I was outran by a squirrel once. Next time I'm going to get her/him.

  • Now he runs back with the animal on his back

  • 'Human bengs' typo in the description

  • to feel good about killing it he has to do a little ceremony

  • @HodorTheGreat think about that when you say your grace before your Thanksgiving dinner :)

  • that was awesome. I need to try that sometime, my puppy got a dear like that before.

  • nixao?

  • Truly Amazing. I saw a video very similar to this on National Geographic and came in search of that. There, the narrator does not reveal the name of the prey because it is inauspicious to take its name before a hunt begins. He chased it for more than 2 hours and speared the kudu in the end. Pls share the link if anyone else has that video.

  • that is how our species started we are animals like everything else until our brains developed to the point where getting food became easy

  • respect for nature and understanding them is the only way we can survive i hope we have the same heart like the heart of this hunting tribe at least if we still have half of the respect that they have for nature we don't have our problem now like this freak global warming.

  • people can walk and run for days, it's just that we don't need to anymore, human beings are apex predators even without technology

  • if only people could appreciate nature in the way this hunter does

  • @PureJockPureBrit

We would live in the stone age then, like this hunter does.

  • So this is how the caveman diet works...

  • so amazing!

  • human the most perfec kiling machine

  • Awesome vid.

    Thanks.

  • How the hell did the camera man keep up?

  • I just realized how advanced we are . AMAZING

  • this is a true hunter ., hi look like obama but this guy work for his food

  • he better sell that meat and buy a decent gun , that program didn't explain that hunters long ago used to make traps and fences to enclosure the animals so they wont have to run after the animals and get so exhausted , and at the end to get a lion or hyaenas eating you and the animal together , a hunting trip must be so organized even in the old times .

  • @xtcyborg apparently not...

  • @krishqwerty lvl 85 hunter ?

  • Human uses strategic endurance. It's super effective.

  • At the end the human being thanks the animal to give him the flesh to live, its spirit will return to the desert sand. Where are we finished !?

  • 6:08 the animal was like nononononononoo lol

  • "Human bengs are a particular type of mammal."

@BBCEarth This sentence is jam-packed with accurate usefulness ; )

  • damn. now the worst part has to be bringing that back home for an 8 hour walk.

  • I used to chase animals in the Veldt, but then I took an arrow to the knee

  • well the End reminds me of some Movie... and i guess we the "civilized" people are the bad people like in the movie

  • Nike: Just do it.

  • This video has been selected by the channel as one of the best Tv/Show videos on YouTube and was added to the channel's playlist accordingly. Thanks for Sharing.

    Regards,

    bestofYTchannel

  • if it took 8 hours of running to get there, how do you plan on getting it back to the village before night, where lions or other predators will rape your shit?

  • @4Tibi I bet the guys who stayed behind go back and grab the jeep then follow him at a distance and they drive it back. The dude had Nikes on

  • I remember once, my friends and I were discussing the fastest animals or some such. I had told them about an article I read somewhere, that had said (might have been the comments) something to the fact that humans, although not the fastest land animal had, in fact the highest stamina or endurance of any other land animal. Humans can keep up a solid running pace for days if need be.

I'll have to link them to this vid.

  • First I was thinking they are totally cut off from civilization, but then I saw that he was wearing running shoes and socks and using a plastic water bottle. So are they doing this as a tradition or as an actual mean of survival?

  • @Chowdder they're doing this because of tradition, but mainly because they can.

  • I wish I were born when times where more simple like this...

  • @HarleyTheGamer when do you think this was filmed?

  • @HarleyTheGamer Because it's so simple to run for eight hours to catch a big ass animal.

It's more simple to go to your local store and buy food instead for hunting it for 8 hours.

Also, this video was filmed not too long ago.

  • Its amazing that some people still live like this, while other people on the other side of the world can watch this on their computer and eat takeaways...

  • But that's the thing, there aren't only a handful of people in the world who have this skill, this is what we were built for, this is what we did, for thousands of years before anything else.

  • There is a tribe in Mexico that does the same thing. Amazing.

  • @nyteryder79

Didn't BBC say this was the last tribe that does so?

  • and in all this, there was a cameraman nearby

  • Ok, now how does he get it back to the village?

  • The runner was wearing Nike's, that's why.

  • beautiful

  • To think there are only a handful of men in the world that have that skill. It's awe inspiring.

  • And how the fuck is he going to carry that beast back 8 hours?

  • Men hunted with shoes all right

  • Beautiful clip.

  • thats why in mongolia we hunt on horses

  • @gavnila Really makes no difference, over a long distance a human will beat a horse.

  • @gavnila Horses have less endurance than humans. In normal conditions we'd hunt them.

  • @69Kambash64 Amen, born to run

  • @gavnila humans can outrun horses

  • @gavnila true now with jeeps :)

  • Fuck that. I get tired walking my ass down to McDonalds..

  • @BomaBoi Yeah... most people aren't as obese as you are.

  • @DeathByTarantula I live in Hawaii.. My shirt is offf 24/7. I cant afford to be obese son!! Have fun being miserable in your 30 degree weather =P

  • @BomaBoi

Walking down to mcDonals - lmao - i get tired driving to mcdonalds.

  • @BomaBoi .. arent u embaressed?

  • @villasikten No, Just facetious looking for a laugh here or there.

  • asmith55364 You went over it in history class? Was your teacher the tribesman? When was the last time you ran through the African bush for 8 hours? For real dude, his shoes were straight different. I promise you the film crew didn't drive beside him at 5 mph for 8 hours. IMFLondon I believe you're referring to the plant plasticiis bottularis, although it's not native to Africa. There are peoples that still chase their prey by persuing them to exhaustion. This, however, is a mediocre photoshoot.

  • @arnesenl I suggest you remove your comment. You're full retard comment is making everyone that reads it just a little bit dumber...

  • These are special people. I have a burning wish to preserve their way of life and their environment. They feel their prey for 8 hours chasing them in african heat. I feel proud to be in the human race.

  • Yes he is wearing modern westernized clothes but so does almost every country in the world and stop using that his shoes were different and his pants weren't dusty, my pants don't get dusty when I run. But this is for real, we went over it in history class and they showed the entire video, this is just a short version.

  • amazing, very interesting. could be translated into Spanish?

  • One last thing, where the hell was he keeping his little plastic jug? His pack doesn't appear to change in size even after he whips it out and starts flinging liquids around. It sure didn't look like it was there when he started running.

  • @arnesenl its a wild bottle.. grows on a special tree

  • Also, keep an eye on the shoes of the three men. It seems our runner has a couple spares because he switches from all black to ones with white soles.

  • simply not exhausted. There's no frantic eye movement, no lolling tongue. It's not even breathing heavily. Come on. And that spear throw, right into the shoulder? That's an instant kill, isn't it? I can't believe I didn't even mention his khaki shorts and leather belt. His shoes and socks aren't even dusty at the end, like they would be if he'd been running for eight hours. While I'm not taking away from those that do hunt in this fashion, this video is ridiculous.

  • Alright. For real. The dude's wearing modern shoes, he's got an iron tipped spear, his water is in a plastic bottle and he wastes it by dumping it on his head. Let's keep in mind that the terrain where the kudu "disappears" is much different from that where the dude's seen waving his hands around. Moreover, I wonder how a man with a high-def video camera managed to keep pace with him. I agree with Simonthestud. I'm a farmer and I've chased more animals than I care to count, and that animals is

  • Absolutely stunning.

  • Comment removed

  • Type in "Africa Addio hunting" must see!

  • amazing vid.

  • @Simonthestud there is no end to the amount of sarcastic comments I would happily use to respond to your stupidity, however I will refrain from doing such and let you remain living in your fish bowl of idiocy and lack of WILDLIFE related knowledge.

  • Comment removed

  • Fake! The animal didnt collapse with exaustion. There was interferance. I know when an animal is exausted, you can tell in the face. Their mouth will often be wide open with tongue sticking out gasping for air. this was a simple take down via trap/dart gun, though I think a trap of some kind was used to make it look genuine.

  • @Simonthestud me thinks you have been watching to many cartoons if you think thats how animals collapse from exhaustion...

  • @Simonthestud you've seen animals collapse? Or you've just seen your dog after you took it out for a run?

  • @Simonthestud shut up

  • So what happens when lions start hunting him while he is running?

  • @BlueberryWine The idea is they hunt at midday when it's so hot that even the lions are taking a break.

  • You would have thought that they had found a more effecient and painfree method of killing the animal throwing a spear against its shoulder...

  • @B1aDK First world problem.

  • @seravi Well I live in the first world so that fits!

  • @B1aDK Yes.

  • This is why human's lost our hair and turned bipedal. Lost our hair so we can get rid of body heat faster, bipedal so we abosrb less sunlight from the sun at noon.

  • 3:06 - nikes commercial

  • He meant to kill the kudu with the spear by aiming at its lungs. But it doesn't look like the spear went very deep. Maybe he hit the scapula, or maybe it was just bad camera angle.

  • sorry I ment to say; You wouldn't think men COULD have greater/better stamina than such animals.

  • You wouldn't think men have greater/better stamina than such animals.

  • He's wearing sneakers and modern shorts....it seemed awkward...

  • These men are the equals of our earliest ancestors. I had no idea such people still existed.

  • @UnclePutte There are still many and even yet-to-be-found tribes in the rainforests of South America that don't have any technology etc.

  • How does he get it 8 hours back to where his family lives?

  • S N E A K E R S ??!!!

  • White peple are far superior

  • no wonder kenya win 1st 2nd 3rd in long distance races.

  • The 20 dislikes were either relatives of the Antelope or overweight slobs jealous that the closest to persistent hunting they ever undertook was rummaging in the refrigerator for a late-night snack.

  • How does he get his prey back to the settlement?

  • @svpfrancis1 I imagine that's what the other trackers are for. If they don't use the guts then they can eviscerate and split the game into manageable pieces right where it fell.

  • @svpfrancis1 the other two guys follow his tracks and help him cut it up and haul it back home.

  • @svpfrancis1 probably tracked by his tribe. Easier to see the San man's track with the bull. He probably runs a certain way too.

  • @svpfrancis1 his partners will help him

  • @svpfrancis1 I wondered that too, especially out in the wilderness, there might be other predators interested in the kill. This is an awesome documentary and yet, its only half the story.

  • @svpfrancis1 on a truck, probably.

  • Beautiful

  • thanks!

  • Wow, the last 8 hours of that animals life consist of running for its life, briefly finding shade to try to rest, and then having to continue running until the pain in its muscles overcomes its strongest instinct, its fear of death; try as it must, it simply can't go on, and falls to the ground during it's last attempt to run away. Why exactly do people think this honours the animal, that somehow its more civilised than a quick and essentially painless death from a bullet?

  • @LeszekSwirski not only is that true, you spelt "honour" correctly :)

  • @LeszekSwirski Both sides are being stupid in this case. The hunter clearly regards the quarry with respect. For you to say this is somehow uncivilized is ridiculous. Then again, there's nothing uncivilized about using firearms to kill prey too, and I know plenty of hunters who hold nearly as much regard for their prey as these tribesmen do.

  • @LeszekSwirski i dont think this guy is worried about how ethical it is he just wants to eat lol

  • @LeszekSwirski wow, I feel a bit dumber now that I read your dumb comment. Congratz idiot, you just went full retard.

  • not trying to bash culture or anything, but there must be an easier way, what about a gun?

  • @coyotx yes it would be, but our endurance is one of our evolutionary traits, one of things that make us a physically adept species in the animal kingdom, gave us an advantage before we learned spears, arrows, and gun were less labour extensive.

  • @coyotx 1. they have no money 2. their only education is selftaught so they wouldnt know how to use or find a gun. 3. they don't know much about outside civilization, let alone a gun.

  • @Canadiankiid93 bow and arrow?

  • @Canadiankiid93 he had a bow and arrow on the back of one of the hunters with a quiver i believe, their are african tribes that use a sleeping herb on small arrows to put the animal to sleep then kill it.

  • This is my favorite inspirational video for running.

  • @JoeTube2 strange, me too!

  • is this a bad sign to use his middle finger ?? :D

  • and this is why they always win in the summer Olympics...

  • why are they wearing shorts shoes and socks instead of some tribal gear

  • @iNarbage Maybe it's because they don't live on another planet but here on Earth where people of different places and cultures trade and exchange things?

  • @iNarbage Maybe it helps with running for endure.

  • 4:00 MFW

  • I bet those Kudus have nightmares about men running behind them. They can run faster but the man always catches up, and at the end they trip and fall and just before they're about to die they wake up screaming.

  • HUMANS :P

  • Beautiful clip. Best hunting clip I seen to date

  • wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • now this is how the true hunters hunt. Not pussy's with guns. Tribute and honor given to the animal, not those fat bastards that cant stop eating pork chops and wonder why are they fat. This hunter won't get fat i promise you that

  • @lifemetall hunting for pork chops!

  • @lifemetall You're retarded. Plenty of hunters who use firearms respect the quarry and in their own way pay tribute to what they take. What, native Americans were dishonorable for using rifles to hunt their prey? You've more than likely never held a weapon or shot an animal, so how the fuck would you know? Oh, and I'll pay money that being a paramedic I'm in better shape than you are.

  • @Ligierthegreensun plenty? hmm, so thousands of hunting lodges, hunting for sport organization pay the tribute of what they take by drinking beer, burping and getting fat in their gathering. Paying a tribute isn't just saying LETS EAT, it's much more, YES I'm proud to say i have never held a weapon that kills other living things and i have never shot another living thing in my life, and there is no need to do so in sports, and i don't need to experience it to know, it's called common sense

  • @lifemetall So how would you know if people do or don't since you've never done it and why should I take your opinion seriously at all again? Hmmm. Brilliant. Glad you're proud you talk about things you know nothing about. No, you just benefit from other living things being killed every day of your life, just don't have the balls to do it yourself. Along with my bet that I'm in better shape than you are, I'll bet I have a higher respect for animals than you do.
