  • if i went hunting i would or somebody like friends or family would eat what i kill

  • good man, one of the reasons i love your videos :)

  • I have the same view. I'm not crazy about going hunting, but i dont have anything against it. My thoughts kind of changed after shooting some squirrels in my grandfathers backyard. (they were eating through the screens for the pool). I guess i would like to do some small varmint hunting.

  • i think itd make hunting alot more sporting if you had to chase around your prey for a week and a half and kill it with a stick =)

  • i urge everyone to try hunting atleast once in their lives. but atleast you have an open mind to it

  • lol does anyone else want to look back at life from watching this vid? i know kinda weird but i does

  • such a small one haha

  • 21 secs in u had a amazing shot possibility

  • Do you just sit in the stand and deer watch? because i know some people who do that.

  • no, but I seriosuly considered at one tiem to get all the gear and stuff and stalk deer just to try to gte really good pictures...figuring if I could get close enough for a good shot with no zoom I woudl have been able to bag it if I were hunting...but I just never did get into that...

  • Same here,my cabinets, fridge and freezer are all jammed packed so I have no need to kill an animal

  • 7.62x39 can't match 30-30?

    30-30 125gr: Muzzle velocity of 2570, 100 yards:2090: 200 yards 1660:

    Energy Muzzle:1830, 100 yards 1210, 200: 770.

    150gr. 30-30: 2480fps muzzle: 2095 at 100yds, 1747 at 200 yards. Muzzle Energy 2049; 100yrds 1462, 200yds 1017.

    Now... Time for 7.62x39..

  • 7.62x39 - 125gr Muzzle velocity of 2365, 100yds: 2062, 200ys 1782.

    Energy Muzzle:1552, 100yds 1180, 200yds 882.

    150gr 7.62x39: 2300fps muzzle: 100yds 2052, 200 yds 1821

    Energy: 1762: 100yds 1403, 200yds 1105

Can see, not much difference.. and at 200 yards, the 150 gr 7.62x39 is outperforming the 150gr 30-30... but what would I know..?

  • Do it Now Shoot lol dont wait looooooooolllll

  • is this sarcasm, or did you not watch the whole video?

  • its sarcasm

  • lol ok...

  • just a random observation, my theory is a large number of people against hunting have very little experience or knowledge of hunting. Many people who vote on gun and knife laws don't have much experience with knives and guns. makes u think

I also wanted to say that I'm pretty sure that Deer would eat me in a heart beat if it could ;)

  • Did you use a pistol shoot sound from Doom for making this? Or it was a coincidence that you got from the same sound library?

  • thanks for the info...you are not alone.

  • you know what grinds my gears? people who freak when they hear hunting stories like "how can you do that its so wrong blah blah blah"

the way i see it it's legal and as long as you"re using the meat for something (sell/eat) go ahead humans have been hunting for billions of years there used to be a day when that was the only way to get meat on the table! so giv'er

  • YES!

  • oy and by the way even the best marksman can miss by an inch and then the deer mean will get all tens and you dont want that so going with the high calibre is best, just my opinion

  • dude, your clearly dont know the taste difference between factory food and wild meats.

  • I never said I dont eat hunted game...I do, and venessan is one of the best tasting meats of all time iof prepared right...

  • I think you forgot to pull the trigger:o

  • Always Liked ya Cutlery lover

  • Your a good man.

  • I'm in the same mindset as you CL. I have no problem with hunting and fully support anyone that does so intelligently. I don't need a trophy to hang on my wall and I can go down the street to the store and get any cut of meat I need. Now if the time comes that the corner store is no longer able to provide my family and I with our protein requirements, you'll find me hunkered down in a blind awaiting the next month's meat to walk in range. Now if they ever open a season to hunt PETA members..

  • yay for not shooting the deer =D

    i would have been sad

  • i respect that

  • Kudos to you for being honest about your willingness to take an animal for the purposes of providing food for your household! Being one who hunts myself (using ALL of the animals parts that I harvest), I say a prayer of thanks any time I have the fortune of making the kill. Those who won't will starve when the time comes, being spoiled by their softness that civilization affords them. Life feeds on life, this is necessary. I say, let the rabbits wear glasses....lmao! Peace.

  • I shoot pandas for fun.

  • ur fucking sick man u kill things for fun fuck u u crazy bitch

  • accually its not killing for only fun its good food, so think again before you leave dumb comments like that. Fight For Our Gun Rights!

  • I also eat great white sharks, set fire to wildlife reserves, and then piss on the remains.

    I love my job.

  • i fell of my chair readin that dude

  • lol if you actually look closely, this a cabela'shunting video game.

  • its my yard man, you can see vids with the same backround in my local wildlife videos...although it looks to be the same style as one of the games its not, I promise you that...

  • oh. lol sorry dude. for some reason the camera looks like video game graphics after 1 min into the video.

  • lol it was filmed through a scope so the qualouty video was off, it kept getting blury and focused in ans out...

  • it has no ponts and its not a dow so why would you shot it

  • if I did hunt I woudl shoot it for the meat, not for the rack...onbiovuly nothing to brag about here, maybe a 4 pointer, lol...

  • TAKE THE SHOT!!!! TAKE THE FREAKIN' SHOT!!!!!

    oh it's a camera...another japanese tourist

  • oh yea that to.

  • animals can feel. It's been proven dumb ass. I'm a vegetarian so i don't hunt. How would you like it if animal got a rifle and shot and ate you? Also with a gun its not like its a sport its not hard the animal probably has no chance at least if your going to hunt use something way harder so the animal actually has a chance. People only kill animals that they know won't kill them. I bet you try and shoot a bear and bring home its meat.

  • I did NOT climb to the top of the food chain to become a vegetarian!!!!

As a matter of fact, MANY people hunt Black bear, at least we do locally. Bear is tasty meat, its damn cheap, and it fills my freezer 200lbs per shot. Stuff that doesnt bite back? Yup, moose, deer, rabbit and birds are on the menu too.

I use a high powered rifle to shoot all these animals (obviously not the rabbits and birds!) Honestly, they dont feel a damn thing. Shot properly, they dont move and inch.

  • What some don't understand is that if you stumble across a moose or deer while hunting and get too close, they can and if in the right disposition WILL kick your behind..

Ever see the video of the hunter who got himself beat up by the deer? Dude was severely injured and he didn't get a shot off with his rifle, at all, lol.

  • Ever been charged by a Moose in the middle of the rut? Horny males are aggressive as a rule, species not withstanding.

Picture a 1500lb moose.... 7ft tall..... with the disposition of a farmer who just caught you with his daughter....... Running at you..... This will cause you to poop yourself! No ifs ands buts or maybes, its downright scary, gun or not.

I've heard of moose charging vehicles as well. Finally, I have been kicked by a wounded deer (hit by car) and it F**&ing hurts.

  • Animal from the muppets becoming a serial killer? Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised.

  • I don't see why being able to buy meat from the grocery store would stop you from hunting. What happens when shit does hit the fan and you don't know what the hell you are doing? Hunting is about providing for yourself, the meat touches your hands and only your hands. It doesn't get shot up with steroids than touched by a bunch of people as it is shipped across the country. It goes from your hands to your plate. Not to mention how much healthier it is for you.

  • I just dont see why killing an animal is neccesary when I ahve other peopel doi it for me...? I grew up with 2 friends who hunted regulary with their fatrhers and I have processed game, deer and rabit, so I know whats involved, I just never had to shoot the animal myself, but trust me when I say the day it has to happen ti wil without any thought...when its up to me to kill for survival it dfoesnt matter if its a rabit, a deer or a neighbor, it WILL happen./..

  • I respect your opinion, but hunting is so much more than killing. It's about being in the woods, listening and watching nature wake up. It's about getting away from it all. No traffic, no cell phones, no bosses. Just you and nature. People who don't hunt will never experience some of these things and I feel bad for them. I'm not singling you out, but hunting is so much more than just killing.

  • I know what you mean, I am one of the exceptions in that I do enjoy ebign in the wood and nature just gettign some tiem to myself enjoyign the animals and watcuhg birds and deer, I am confident if the tiem called for it I coudl stalk a deer or other game to ghet close enough to take it down...but in general your right, there are alot of people who need to get away from the cities and spend some time in nature...

  • I'd love to see someone hit a deer with an ak47

  • Why? That round is actually underpowered compared to a lot of hunting rounds.

  • People do use 7.62x39 for hunting... In some states using an ak47 for hunting is perfectly legal and it will bring down a deer.

  • Eh...should be using a high power rifle. It's more humane. You want to ALWAYS bring the dear down and make the kill as short as possible. 7.62x39 just doesn't have enough energy behind it to guarantee that (yes, it brings humans down but dear aren't human). Start with .30-30, .308 Winchester, .300 Mag, .270 and .30-06 do well too. Although what really does matter is shot placement.

  • No offense dude, but I know people that have been hunting longer than you've known how to clean guns telling me that 7.62x39 is just fine for hunting..

But to be more clear, with the proper bullet weight/powder load a 7.62x39 WILL match a 30-30 and give you enough for a clean kill on a deer.

  • I'm not saying it can't be done. But there are other rounds that are more effective. And the problem is I don't just talk to people. I DO.

And your logic is terribly wrong. 7.62x39 isn't manufactured, even for reolads, that match the weight and momentum performance of a .30-30. Yeah, it's an entry level dear round but the energy behind it trumps all grain and power loads of the .308 short, even a 110gr .30-30. Clearly you've never seen .30-30 ballistics performance.

  • I've never seen 30-30 ballistics?

7.62x39 might not meet the loads of all 30-30, but it will meet some, or come just under some..

The fact of the manner is, regardless of if my numbers are that much off, 7.62x39 is sufficient for deer.

As for "you don't talk to people, you do".. Well congratulations, that still doesn't undo a multitude of other's opinions, who also do WITH the round in question.

As you said earlier though, shot placement.. Biggest caliber in the world won't do diddly...

  • ...if you can't hit your target effectively..

  • I agree, its ALL about shot placement. If you spend the time at the range getting fammiliar with your weapon, and learning your LIMITS you can hunt with any legal sized round efectivly, and without putting the harvested animal through hell. I hunt with a very small round, and get laughed at all the time. But I have NEVER had to hunt down an animal...they drop where they stand, because I take head and neck shots. I have had to hunt down buddies kills for 300 yards or more, due to missed shots

  • just because you "can" shoot a deer with 7,62x39 doesnt mean that it is the perfect bullet for the job. i have to agree with "Reaper87xx" that it is more humane to use a higher calibre like 30-06. if you are an excellent marksman you can use smaller calibre all the way down to the .22 cal Hornet. but there is a reason why it is banned as a deer hunting round in some state, and the uk.

  • Thank you! But a small clarification, 7.62 = .308, so it is a bigger "caliber" than a .30-06. Such a small margine, yes but .308 > .30-06 in diameter. Caliber only measures how big across. ;-) The .30-06 has a bigger casing than the 7.62x39 and delivers more energy.

  • m8 i think you know what i meant : ), (i was talking about the casing lengths xx-39 vs xx-51 using calibre was a misplaced word)

  • Just making sure :-D

  • AK47s arent hunting guns, they're military guns. I agree with you Reaper87xx, but the deer will almost always run away and die in a safe place. The lowest my dad and I go for a deer is .243. My uncle once hit a deer so that it fell right away, but he was using .338 and probably did hit the heart or lungs.

  • ive dropped all but one with a .243 hit them in the neck or the front shoulder and it wont go far without lungs...and i think a 762mm is a 30-06 and there great for deer

  • Lapua?

  • I don't think so. But .338 in general is overkill for a deer.

  • I know people do. I was simply saying, why would it be so cool to see a video of a deer being shot by a 7.62x39? It's not that uncommon.

  • hunting for any other reason than a sport is alright for me

but when people kill something then hang up its head or use its skin as an area rug and not using any other part of that animal isnt cool

  • yah

  • i totally agree i mean they can keep the head, but you should eat the meat, otherwise stop hunting because some of us do like the meat and would like to kill more deer, my opinion, and great point itsandyyo

  • I hate when people hunt when its unnecessary... Lemme hunt that persons family and see how they feel... O wait killing humans for no reason is inumane isnt it? Damn.

  • wow you realy are dumb arnt u? haha the animals we kill to eat do same same fucking thing to eat!!! were top of the food chain meaning nothing hunts us!! hawks hunt & kill small ground animals..snakes...and oh snakes hunt other ground animals that hawk eats but haws also eats snake..hmmhmmm THATS CALLED LIFE!!!! DEAL WITH IT!!! hunt on my friends

  • is this comment for me or a reply to someone else?

  • no no no jeff not to u lol i love all ur vids keep em commin:) its to all the ppl commenting on here not realizing how life takes other life to live....sounds ridiculous but in a nutshell thats wat it is

  • oh ok, just wondering youtube comments are always screwy and dont show the replies right...haha, but yeah your right, thats just life..as cute as some animals are they often eat smaller cuter animals, lol..

  • Im going boar hunting in michigan tomorrow!

  • i only hunt milfs!!!

  • damn dude you had that in a PERFECT shot why dont you hunt

  • Wow. deeply philosophical stuff going on here. I hunt deer. I like the thrill of the hunt and I enjoy venison. Want to get philosophical with me on the subject you had better be vegan. I have a hard time respecting people who will talk against hunting than stuff themselves on meat from the store or McDonalds. On the other hand if you think animals have no feelings you are not being truthful to yourself. Any body who has had a dog knows animals have feelings

  • they have some feelings, or a semblance thereof, but in deer its kinda pointless, i dont think the deer is going to cry in a hole, whimpering and rockign itself back and forth because it saw another deer die. you think it would be better for a pack of wolves to maul it, killing it slowly by letting it bleed out, and eating before it had totaly died? one shot. one kill, eat the meat. deer shouldnt care too much unlees its still "breast" feeding and you kill its mother (personally i dont kil them)

  • good point unless you make good use of it you dont need to hunt but it is a sport and you've got to go with the ways of nature

  • im only against hunting if your not going to eat what you have killed

  • me too

  • in closing, hunting is not brutal, cruel, inhumane, or insensitive. if i am ignorant of animal's feelings WHO GIVES A CRAP I'M FILING ITS ASS WITH LEAD. God gave me dominion over the earth and its creatures, to care for them, and eat them. by hunting i do both. not only is it fun, its good for the rest of the herd, its good for the rest of the environment, its good for me (free meat) its good for farmers, its good for other animals. oh yes im such a bad person.

  • protection for their young, as well as nurturing feelings, but these are not feelings per se, they are mainly primal instincts. and as for those who mate for life, do you think they feel love? they might protect their mate in the event of an attack, but that is also a survival-style instinct, elephants mate for life, and yet if one of their young gets stuck in the mud, then yes they will be upset, but they will leave it behind, for the betterment of the rest of the herd. thats love?

  • you've contreticted yourself over three times in your "story". That results in a failure. I didn't realize I young you were, your reasoning abilities haven't developed yet...

  • you know what. . i'm not going to argue with you guys anymore, what i'm gonna do is say this. deer may be able to feel scared, cold, or surprised. but they still have no soul, if you compare killing them to a massacre of thousands of people, you are quite simply a dumbass, for they will feel no emotionall scarring for having a family memeber die, nor wil they suffer deep emotional pain and cry horrendusly if their mother dies. i do think that they can feel some sense of family, and (continues)

  • SIGH! GROAN, when have i said that dogs dont feel pain, or sadness, case in point WE DONT FRICKING HUNT DOGS what we dont hunt are turkeys (brains the size of an acorn) ducks (brans the size of a pea) deer (brains slightly bigger but no congnitive thought function or actuall emotions) WHAT I HAVE SAID IS TAHT DEER WILL NOT CRY AND FEEL EMOTIONAL PAIN WHEN ONE OF THEIR OWN DIES, NEITHER WILL A DUCK, PHEASANT, TURKEY, BISON, MOOSE, OR FISH. WHICH IS WHY IT IS POINTLESS TO ARGUE FOR THEIR PROTECTIN

  • Loving the amount of rage in this thread. I lol'd.

  • i know its quite stupid

  • Excellent video

  • Shut up

  • I´m not against hunting , but i just hate people who just hunt for fun . I Mean kill a dear or something and then go away and kill the next.

  • dude, hunters dont just leave piles of deer bodies laying in the fields, they take them and eat them. FREE MEAT!

  • But there ARE Hunters who just hunt for fun . They don´t eat or sell or whatever the animals . I just hate these assholes.

  • i think everyone does

  • lol i was like. . . .waiting. . .. waiting. .. . . dude thats a perfect shot what are you waiting for. . . . . BANG finaly. . .oh wait damn!

  • yeah fresh meat only costs how much the bullet was.

  • plus all your gortex, hunting tags, cost of the gun, day off work, deer piss to spray on yourself, and other equipment. Its not as cheap as you may think.

  • A+.... to you. no sport in hunting a defenseless deer... hunters should hunt grizzly bears with bowie knives, it kind of evens out the playing field. let the better animal win. IMHO.

  • I agree. It is much more sporting and humane to go to the store and buy one that has never been free, then slaughtered as soon as it reaches optimum size, by somebody else ...with a machine...because those cows can realy run fast, are very stealthy, and can smell/hear you coming a mile away (from inside their enclosure) thats sporting. Go have some Mcdonalds hippocrite.

  • =) +respect points to you cutlerylover!

  • The whole time looking at that video I was expecting a loud gunshot to come out of nowhere and scare the shit out of me. xD

  • thank you for your inspiring knife and gear reviews!

keep up the good work, cutlerylover!

  • tak the shot already lol.

  • It would be cool to have a scope with a built in photo camera connected to a fake cartridge with a switch for a cap. This way you could go and practice hunting without ammo and still have the proof afterwards.

  • Your all pussy, Greenpeace loving, Faggots! Hunting is fun but poaching is bad though you should dis that no hunting and remember if a deer got the chance he would eat you and everyone you care about

  • .... ah.. but deer haven't turned into zombies yet.

  • We're all animals, but I suppose each species is more important to themselves. I just disagree with unnecessary killing and cruelty.

  • hunting isn't cruel. it controls the population, meaning that the rest of the herd can be more healthy, find more food, and fornicate

  • Hunting can be extremely cruel. I don't have a huge problem with hunting for population control, it's a lot better than other methods.

But you have to consider the fact that you could be killing someone's mother, father, mate, child, or sibling. Think about when hunting's really necessary.

  • oh sure its extremely cruel, the deer will cry for weeks, and suffer deep emotional pain for years to come: "oh my mother has died, what shall i do for food? OH LOOK CORN! NOM NOM NOM" this isnt bambi, animals cant talk, sing, dance, or put togethere cognitive thoughts, grow up and face the facts.

  • Ever heard of the seal hunting in Canada? Yes, hunting can be very cruel.

Not only this but animals feel emotion pain, I've worked with animals for years. A fawn needs its mother for the first few weeks of its life, if she dies it will suffer. We all have brains and feelings.

  • You should of shot it on camera and posted it up haha, You can do trophy hunting though.

  • hunting for food is ok but trophy hunting is disgusting! cruel and is a waste!

  • Comment removed

  • I think hunting for fun is wrong, especially since a deer has no chance against a gun. Hunting for survival/food on the other hand, seem fine to me, unless you got a supermarket around the corner.

  • Killing your own meat is so much cheaper than buying it at the store. If you buy your meat at the store, someone somewhere had to kill that animal. Your purchase of the meat is your hand in the killing so explain how it is different. It's not. I'm going to hunt for the first time this year. For fun...and for cheap food.

  • well duh, you think hunters just leave the deer in the middle of the feild? NO they take it for the meat!

  • dude total respect :)

  • meal on legs! nice.

  • good for you !!!!!

  • wow there is alot of rednecks in this comments...just wow...they allways show up in hunting, nascar, beers, and off course cosins

  • You know, that deer probably has a family just like you. I think hunting for fun is wrong.

  • it never knew how close it came to death

  • Great video Jeff. I was tought to hunt from a very young age. But I really didn't want to kill deer. Like yourself, I can easily drop a deer if I need to.

  • man. meat to spare

  • i dont hunt ether but i am a big gun guy its just to bad i live in red neck Oregon where i can't find a damn gun shop that has hand guns. only hunting rifles/shotguns. i dont want a 2 and a half hour drive to shop for a new gun

  • where abouts in oregon do u live? i live in northern california

  • southern oregon

  • 0 really? do u happen to know where eureka is? i live there

  • well i hear it on the news during the weather...

  • 0. so do u live in ashland or grants pass? medford? round there?

  • yeah, forgive me if i dont get in anymore detail on the internet

  • i view all animals as either meat, clothing or just annoying and if it gets in my way i eat it carve it or bury it

  • you got me you bastard, lol

  • lol no shit you don't hunt. Did you snort some fiberglass mixed with ground up caffeine pills or what?

  • In before PETA finds this video! I remember an article on PETA saying that we should drink human breast milk instead of cow milk, brb setting up a human milk farm.

  • I woulda shot it outside my window. ;D

  • I hunt fairly often, but that's mostly just because I enjoy bringing home my own food with no grocery store middleman.

We must all remember that there is no shame in hunting or not hunting. There is however a shame in not having the capability or knowledge as it's something everyone should have their own well-being as well as their families.

You have the capability and knowledge. So you've covered those bases

  • JEJEJEJE!

    Nice video....

  • LOL!

  • Wow...brutal...

  • nuclear launch detected

  • i think i feel the same about hunting, its like cutting a live tree down to build a house or shelter, do it if you need to. and even if you don't need to, not a bad idea to know how. Why dont you hop on the IKC Chatroom sometime? might be fun!

  • hunting controls the population of the animals, thus creating a beter life for the rest of their species.

  • Pretty cool. I've heard they taste as good as they look, lol. Never eaten deer in my life. Gotta try it some time.

  • it's not bad but it should be killed certain ways for best results...

  • I wanted to say BOOM! HEADSHOT!; but you didn't take a shot :<

  • I like your philosopy on hunting man. I don't hunt either, but if I ever had to, I could.

  • Going hunting next week when I have some time off from school lol :D

  • :46 perfect shot lol

  • i actually plan on grabbing a deer this weekend. Deer burgers baby lol

  • <.<...... It's not season.....

  • HOLY SHIT!

  • if your gonna BS at least make it a little believable

  • It's a joke dude! Between me and Jeff. Ya know a joke?? the things people laugh at.. ya know he hehe haha.. get it????

  • OH! I GET IT! HAHAHAHAHA, lolol

  • I'm kinda with you Jeff. I don't have anything against hunting, I'm just not into it. I do like the out doors, and I love animal stalking / watching. Its like counting coup.

  • You had a great shot there, but I completely respect your opinon. thanks for sharing

    5/5

  • That was awesome Jeff.I feel the exact same way about hunting.Thanks.5/5

  • when i saw the deer i was like aww dont shoot it! im glad you didnt lol

  • Aw man, you had a few perfect shot opportunities there! I'm envious... but good to let that one go until it's older.

  • I think i am gonna take up deer and turkey hunting. I'll be 18 this January so i can get my first hunting rifle before too long.
