  • Check out my fretless Bass cover of The Philosopher on my channel ! RIP CHUCK

  • Um simples toque de jazz e a cabeça libertária rompe os preconceitos, fazendo da arte o ilimitável.

Viva Chuck! Por ver além e ir além da mediocridade humana e por sepultar os falsos artistas em sua mesquinhez.

  • I fucking love that bassline at 1:50

  • You can see in the end how nice chuck was:)

  • \m/ DEATH \m/

  • the drummer is so fat. does he even lift?

  • @jaydiebunny why do you care if he's fat? gene hoglan is one of the greatest metal drummers of all time.

  • @zachf914 umad......brah?

  • @jaydiebunny lol? another stupid thing for you to say i guess.

  • @zachf914 lol yeh sorry about all that, i just felt like being a dick when i typed that. i looked up who he was , and yeah, i'll admit i got owned :)

  • @jaydiebunny That's Gene Hoglan Sir...

  • @jaydiebunny Gene Hoglan is a God.

  • i'd go gay for chuck schuldiner (no homo)

  • imagine all the great music we have missed out on!

  • Chuck was realy awesome, buy many people forget about Steve DiGiorgio, Gene Hoglan and Andy LaRocque, those are really good musicians.

  • AMAZING CHUCK ROCKS!!!!

BTW if you like death check decrepit birth amazing band!!!

  • I like how the top comment is philosophical

  • First atheist music I was exposed to...to question...~ExGx

  • They extreme panned the guitars, and it isn't bad. But the took the effects outta the solo!!!! WTH!!!

  • this track is amazing

    'n the bass!! psss!!

  • what this lyrics deal with?

  • @VincentFinn Life.

  • It is a Yamaha bass Steve plays on?

  • @IgoRthethrasher he use to play carvin...i'm pretty sure he plays esp now from the pictures I've seen but I'm sure he has quite a collection that would make me cry lol

  • Great song.

  • 5 people are priests u.u

  • Chuck`s smile at the end makes me laugh too! haha

  • Ralph Santolla is an incredible guitarist, nothing else, as a person is a total cunt, greedy poser mercenary of music!

  • Fretless bass wedgie! y'kno?

  • ohh fuck yeah that solo..

  • i remember seeing this on beavis and butthead.

  • This song is a diss on paul masvidal ( cynic )

  • @reet12337 That doesn't matter, and Paul accepts it. Half of the ITP album was written (negatively) about me - so what - Chuck could get angry, and he put his emotions into his songs. But that's art. At the end of the day we're all adults, and got over everything. ERIC GREIF

  • @orchardhill I was just replying to someone who said it was about something else. I agree with what you say tho.

  • @reet12337 Sorry - I was just putting my reply out there - wanted to make sure the facts about the songs are known. I understand that everyone can have their own perception of what lyrics mean to them personally, but I do happen to know what this song was actually pertaining to. Cheers! E

  • @reet12337 is this true, or are you just making this up?

  • Is it me, or does Ralph look like he's 16 at the end of the video?

  • Artist: Death Playing at O2 Academy 3 Birmingham, Birmingham on Jan 12, 2012

fucking stupid youtube....... I wish.. RIP CHUCK

  • Ahh, Chuck and Gene :)

  • Am I missing something? Whats remixed?

  • @Kreuger Everything. The original was pretty good so they didnt need to do much, but the guitars are definetely sharper and have more mids, the bass has had its useless sub-bass frequencies cut out and the vocals have been tampered with as well, notice the more subtle reverb. Also it was obviously remastered.

  • @Kreuger Relapse remixed the sound and raised the bass. I thought the same thing on their remix of Lack of Comprehension

  • hey look there goes Jeremy again

  • This song is actually about Paul Masvidal. It's the Death equivalent of a diss track, so stop calling Chuck the Philosopher, that's Paul and it isn't a compliment.

  • R.I.P.

  • R.I.P THE TRUE PHILOSOPHER OF METAL!!!

  • R.i.P. Chuck God of all that is metal, you may be gone from this earth but ur music and legacy will last lifetimes

  • R.i.p. chuck you are my main inspiration to write music

  • R.I.P. Chuck

  • REST IN PEACE CHUCK !!!

  • RIP Chuck! Your just fucking amazing man!

  • R.I.P. Charles Michael Schuldiner !!!

The Philosopher Of The Death Metal.

Chuck Still Alive In Our Hearts. \m/

  • i didn't know it was this day ten years ago when he passed away. i was just about to play this song on bass, so this is for you chuck. rip

  • R.I.P

  • Chuck was one of metals greatest poets, and composers.

  • Remembering Chuck Schuldiner (May 13, 1967 – December 13, 2001), one of my teenage metal idols \m/

  • R.I.P.

  • Wow, the remaster was done really well, it sounds great.

  • Its been 10 years :'(

    RIP man

  • the death is the only one who never lies

  • If you can`t appreciate Death, then atleast love Chuck, what can you tell me about that god of a person that was less-than honorable?

The end of the video was picked at more or less the perfect moment, Chuck`s smile is godlike, i wanna learn this song-.-

  • Epic song, damn amazing re-mix, great video.

  • This is so amazing. Death, and Chuck will live on forever in my soul <3

  • Nice, but why no HD?

  • this might be a dumb question but does anyone know what the kid in the video symbolizes?

  • @theamazingcooper

Probably innocence. or a child seeking for the truth while learning about the real life. Cause Chuck loved kids and he had strong desire for innocence. All his music was built upon innocence (except some songs in the early years).

Also the Philosopher was used both ironically and with its true meaning in that song I believe. More than a regular philosopher he was telling about hypocrisy maybe?...

  • @theamazingcooper Minds open to corruption by those that profess to know more than they actually do?

  • They destroyed the solo sound.......fuck!

  • Comment removed

  • I really appreciate these re-mixes. Thanks Relapse

A full album version of this song that doesnt fade out at the end and keeps Chuck and Steve trading off at full volume without abruptly stopping like the video would be great. On the album and live it goes like 30 seconds longer.

If you guys could throw together a video for the song 'Leprosy' that would be awesome. I liked the Control Denied one.

  • Love how he smiles at the end

  • When i first heard this song on Headbangers ball i can honestley say i didnt like them. But as i fell more in love with metal music i found this band to be one of the most influential!

  • Comment removed

  • @orchardhill WOW it must have been awesome to have known chuck in person =) i wish i could have met him...

  • What defines real music, is what I ask myself often...

I think Death was real, because Chuck had all his feelings put into it.

I am not a hater of Justin Bieber, but I think we can all agree on, that he is naught but a happy boy singing songs - fair enough.

But damn... Chuck put so much effort, feeling and love into Death. He was truly an artist...

yeah, just felt like saying that in this dark moment of lonelyness

  • @TheGrimBassist

I'm with you my friend and you're so right with that thought.

Chuck was one of those artists in the world who have suffered enough to create his art yet at the same time staying cool and being modest.

That's what makes Death & Chuck always a true and real thing for me.

OTOH, Justin and alike are just people with a bit of luck that has no idea what it takes to be a real "artist". Products of the newer and corrupt MTV culture. MTV-generation.

  • @TheGrimBassist poetic comment

  • @TheGrimBassist poetic comment

  • @TheGrimBassist I'm not going to comment on mentioning the fucker here...

  • @dezerterone Just thought he was a prime example of todays music :)

  • Esp: Chuck, siempre tendra mi admiración y la de todos

Eng: Chuck, always have my admiration and that of all

  • Oh Chuck. Such talent and such glorious humility.

Thank you, Chris Steele and Eric Greif for this amazing reimagining of the classic.

  • dawm what i would give to see them live you do not even WANT to now

  • ID LIKE TWO TACOS PLEASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSE AND A ORDER OF SMALL FRIES ..... TOO GOOOOOOOO

  • @bongowongowongo Fuck yeah bro, lolz.

  • Fuck. Those guys were so good.

  • Always loved how Chuck's solos scream and sing at the same time.

  • Hail DEATH!!!!!

  • This was just fucking awesome

  • Following a naked man with a shower cap on behind the curtains at the end! - Whats that kid thinking? lol

  • R.I.P Master

  • Dat fretless sound.

  • Chuck IS MY GOD AND PROPHET (R.I.P.)

  • chuck's soul is in his bc rich when you play it. its like the pick of destiny. only its the guitar of death.

  • espectacular sonido

  • \m/

  • 3:26 la risa de Chuck xD!!!!

  • seeing him smile in the end was great, R.I.P. CHUCK

  • TRUE death metal...

  • Chuck the only one metal philosopher!

  • How come i can buy a album from a band with platinum records and the production is terrible, and then i buy a album from a underground band like this, which even though it's a remaster, has a much smaller production budget and still manages to sound much better?

  • @mashui99 I don't know about the other band, but I guess it's in the writing. This band didn't make music to get rich ,they made it because they love it.

  • @mashui99

That a band starting with "M" and ending in "etallica" by any chance?

    :D

  • @Postmortem616 How'd you guess lol

  • Great work! You should do somthing similar for Lack of Comprehension video! :D Respect for Chuck!

  • @NBrambilla95 We did - Lack of Comprehension Remix has the new audio synched with the vid. ERIC

  • @orchardhill You did!? Wow I'll check it out. Are you going to make a remastered edition for each CD of Death? I've buyed TSOP, Human and The Fragile Art of Existence (Control Denied) so far, and I've ordered Individual Thought Patterns. It would be great to have the whole discography from Relapse :D

  • if you don´t like DEATH, you don´t like METAL !!!

  • Comment removed

  • DEATH will NEVER die is always in our minds and hearts !

  • I'm not sure I like it better than the original, but it sounds good and makes sense to try to preserve and promote these records.

  • I like the bass sound and the more dry drumsound on this recording: more details reveal themselves, but there is one major flaw in this remix version: the original had a delay effect on the solo but now it's gone and sounds like a ordinary guitarsound. Why is this? Great video nonetheless!

  • Comment removed

  • RIP Chuck.

  • 3:26 Look at that smile! The original video don't show that amazing smile... sad but true. Thanks Chuck for all your music and thanks for all your philosophy, R.I.P. (Return If Possible)

  • Eh... the guitars sound so weak in this remix.

  • @ruinawish Everybody is entitled to their opinion about the remix...but 'weak'? That is probably the funniest thing I've read today. :) ERIC GREIF

  • @orchardhill Like someone has just commented, it's not just the guitars. You've sucked out the low end. One of the best things about this song was how daunting the introduction sounded. I'm not referring just to the guitar theme, but also the underlying powerful bass from Steve and Gene. With this remix, I don't get that feeling at all (I can barely hear or feel the bass drum). The guitars only sound weak because you've drained everything supporting it.

  • @ruinawish As I said, everyone is entitled to their opinion on the original mix, this new mix, or any subsequent mix. Mixes are the interpretation of the engineer who does them. When Chris & I experienced this remix for the first time, we were thrilled. We loved the clarity, the definition, the power. Thankfully, this seems like the overwhelming majority opinion. But, again: anyone who likes the 1993 Scott Burns mix can find the album at ebay or the original video on youtube. ;) ERIC GREIF

  • @orchardhill Fair enough I suppose. I eagerly await the arrival of my 3cd pack.

  • @ruinawish You will not be disappointed - there is a booklet of 30 odd pages of photos, lyrics, liners by journalist Perry Grayson & Gene Hoglan, and of course three hours of music. Go sick! E

  • @ruinawish There never was that much low end on this album, I feel like the guitars (and especially the bass) are much stronger here. The guitars have a little bit too much high end and distortion though in my opinion, but i can forgive that because everything is now much clearer than before:D

  • Amazing, it´s funny to see chuck laughing at the end, in the original version you think they are all being serious

  • Hey what is Jeremy doing here?

  • @goblinkilla LOLZ. Fuck yeah brother.

  • ...this is the second time I see Chuck's smile...I don't know why but it touches deep in my heart. r.i.p. great genius special person

  • R.I.P Chuck!

    Father of Death-metal.

  • 2:07 DAT SCREAM. This sounds so amazing, I'm so happy

  • I still wish the mix had of kept the delay effect on chuck's solo and his vocals but this is so awesome I don't even care anymore man..classick ;)

  • who would dislike this

  • Lol @ Chuck's huge smile at 3:29.

    R.I.P

  • Please listen to The Ocean, Formidable band, I think they're carrying the flag good and high for true Metal. Oh, well, ITP is one of my favorites, and this remix, tho not as radical as the remix for HUMAN was, breathes new life into this most powerful release!

  • Fuck ya, the ride out is so awesome. Death forever!

  • The new Individual Thought Patterns remix/re-release is awesome... I'm wearing the shirt now! This video I always found fascinating, so I'm glad to see it back and fully restored without any logos just like the Lack of Comprehension video remix! good job everyone! I can't wait for what's next!

  • Long Live DEATH!

  • goosbump anyone?

  • Sick!

  • THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

  • He's not dead until we forget him. From where I stand, he's as alive as ever!

  • @AGNTthrasher Chuck is not dead, Chuck is the DEATH

  • I am so very proud of this! Chuck's nephew Chris Steele & I approved this mix, and now it is synched with the original, uncut video for The Philosopher. Revel in the long, awesome fade out that allowed for the end to be seen for the FIRST TIME (see Chuck smile as he was cracking up!). Share this fucker. Paste the link everywhere. Go sick. Dance in the streets. Throw a pie at a friend. Dress up as a cat and eat a salami sandwich. Celebrate DEATH. OK, that is all. ;) ERIC GREIF

  • @FirePower3006 Go fuck yourself. Anyone who would say anything negative about Chris is no fan of Chuck Schuldiner - Chuck would have beat your head in. ERIC

  • @orchardhill hey whats the story with this, have you remixed the entire album or what?

  • @boyleb1 The entire album has been remixed for the reissue, just like Human, ERIC

  • Fucking Awesome!

    R.I.P Chuck Schuldiner ( 1967 - 2001 )

  • Really awesome..

  • DEATH lives forever!

  • fucking amazing. RIP Chuck

  • Awesome !
