  • id be scared to do a cluster with engines like these your braver than me..

  • Now make a two-stage cluster.

  • u should use a bigger more sturdy launch pad and is that a G engine ??

  • I do believe the launch pad provided sufficient stability for a safe lift off. Thank you for your comment.

  • @DTHRocket rail-style launch pads are where its at for anything that runs a G+ motor. If the rod is moving once the rocket has lifted off, its not stable enough (you may get lucky, but your chances for a failure are a lot higher)

  • @danaownsall True, for a big heavy rocket that has a very low acceleration. But this one was stable.

The size of the motor doesn't dictate what kind of pad to use. I launched a G-motor off an Estes pad before: flZA2CbxUew

I used rails for my Level 1 certification flight, which worked great.

  • @DTHRocket You're right with the size part for the most part, but using a high thrust motor inside a heavy rocket on a dinky pad will not be so pretty. The rocket will most likely project at an angle unsuitable for flight before it has a chance to accelerate to a speed where the fins work propperly. Rail length has a lot to do with it, too. your rocket accelerated quickly so it didnt need a long rod, but anything slower should be on a much longer rail/rod.
