@soverato3 if you have a small box then chances are the internal volume is too low in order for the sub to perform well, so inverting the sub allows the cone to use the box as the enclosure still, but because the rear is exposed the trunk/boot acts as the enclosure, it won't be as loud, but the quality will be better.
@ma5termind88 You're amp getting hot had nothing to do with inverting the sub...did you also invert your wiring and possibly hook the sub up wrong...?
i inverted my subs and since i had a smaller box it made my subs hit harder, i plan to get 2 dd 3512's good idea? i was going to get 2 fi q 12's what do you think?
@Basshead215 Hell yeah...go with the (2) 3512's...You need to check out my latest vid's...new car with (2) on a Colossus. Last metered I did a 147.6 but that was with a signal issue...I'm most likely doing about 149 dB...Go with the DD's
@Basshead215 Indeed, I'm actually about to "beef" mine up, sending them to PSI, nothing is wrong with them but want to be able to drive the ever living ish out of them and I'm not going to pay for 9512's when mine are just fine
@JoseNunez600 Ahh excuse me youngster...come say something once you've inverted your DD sub...okay...with the right sub/enclosure, the sound will be almost the same and with the DD's, your SPL is higher inverted.
@inktoxicated Just wire the subs backwards and the box did tip but now I have it in a different vehicle. In the other vehicle, I had to bolt it down with L brackets.
@iMuRKRoW If you dont have a 180 phase swap on your amp then just swap the 'power +' and the 'negative -' over on the sub, This will not harm your subs in any way as i think you belive as amplifiers convert 12 volt d/c to a/c 'alternating current, thus meaning the power is switching from one polarity to the other. Hope this helps.
There is a bxi on each coil? so you're running them @ what? .7 per coil?

Inverted dont sound why? because the air comes out from behind if you put it normal it sounds harder.

@infinitiondubs i have tried it it sounds less
JoseNunez600 3 months ago
@infinitiondubs I've never heard of a gain in dbs from inverting... Typically there is a small loss (down to 3db) if any.

@infinitiondubs - I hope you don't mean swapping the positive and negative to the sub LOL
