@MarkusStarr if you use you're bike solely for dirtjumping or on pumptracks you probably will prefer singlespeed. i ride my bike on fr-trails in the woods and have to go uphill sometimes so i'm glad it has gears.

@MarkusStarr i think you can use any good dirt frame for this type of riding. i don't know if a 4x-frame like a transition bank can handle the impact load for freeriding for long because 4x-frames are usually lighter than dirt frames and therefor have thinner and lighter tubes. the impact load during a 4x race usually isn't as high as during dirt-jumping or freeriding (f.ex: no flat landings after jumps from greater hights). i simply choose the votec because of it's geometry and design.regards

@Donnerelite das kann ich pauschal nicht beantworten, hängt von vielen faktoren ab: deinem talent, wie oft du fährst, wo du fährst, womit du fährst, wie alt du bist, und vor allen dingen wie viel spass du daran hast. der eine fährt nach 2 jahren schon sehr gut beim anderen dauerts ewig.

@kmk4life86: hi, i'm 5,7 and the frame is a medium-size wich fits perfectly for me. dirtbikes are often only available in just one size (medium) because ergonomics isn't so important for a "jump-bike" - but if u have a longer way to your spot or want to use it also for tour-riding, medium-size may be to short for you. test it before buying!

@hardfang14: hi, you mean a hardtail-fr-bike like a orange subzero or a norco rampage/manik vs a dirtbike? it depends on your preferences and what u want to do. i like the fr-jumping stuff so i choose a dirtbike which really kicks you off. to me a hardtail with a 160-180mm fork doesn't make much sense though i admit i never rode one. (don't know if that helps ; )

The bigger fork helps with big drops as well as large jumps, but it also results in a heavier bike.
