  • yea they don't tell you that the fords are running 3.73 or better gear ratio. Dodge only has the 3.55 ratio..very big difference when towing..ect. Now throw in a set of lower gears( i think the closest ratio is 3.92 for dodge) and then do the test.Ford would not (harder time)keep up..U picking up what im laying down here..Im no hater by far.Just know by XP

  • Id like to know what gears are in both trucks

  • torque sluggish off the bottom really? Ram is pulling 300 ftlbs at 1200 rpm. get the facts.

  • @fishinf1 That is correct, but the EcoBoost is pulling 402ftlbs @ 1100RPM all the way to the redline. The Hemi's are monsters and I love em, but the towing capacity and build quality of the Ford won me...

  • Please-redneck shut up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The ford was in tow hall mode the dodge wasnt

  • Dodge is the best clearly

  • Comment removed

  • Dodge Hemis....... lol what a joke

  • that test is not valide , you was towing heavy load on normal driving , why didn't you put it on towing mode ?

you can see at 6:00 the wellow light on the towing button is not on .... so you wasn't on towing mode .

you have to do the test again ...

    pat

  • chevy is still the best in my opion byt congrats to anerican trucks except dodge

  • if your feeling the trailor brakes everytime you hit the breaks its becuase you have the trailor brakes set to high. and in the ford had em set lower. doesnt mean dodge has bad brakes. its nothing to do with the suspension

  • usb cord in the dash box

  • the 5.7 is actually good on fuel. its out performing my nabours ecoboost vs my parents 5.7 hemi. mind you the hemi has 8000 k on it and the ecoboost has 2000 km. both unloaded driveing. i have hurd the 3.5 is worse on fuel then the 5.0 becuase once boost kicks in it adds the fuel.

  • It bet took a while to get from 60-80mph because the numb nuts was pressing the brake pedal at the same time to slow it down...

  • your making it wor so much most of the time a 2500 would be pulling that

  • what was so wrong about making pickups with column shifters? the floor style automatic shifters look like cars...because that's who they're marketing their pickups towards....soccer moms

  • got 4 fat people in there, and it's not in towing gear???

  • come on its a turbo

it's like back in 1987 when buick came out with there gnx

its a v6 with a turbo and guess what it was the fastest car that gm produced in 87'

but ill be laughing at the ford when its on the road after the tranny blew out for the third time.

  • I own a 2011 Ram. Ronnie needs a lesson in towing. This video is VERY bias.

Why didnt he have the tow/haul engaged?

Trailer brake is adjustable. If it pulls hard when braking than lower the resistance.

  • I like how they have 1200 lbs of fatass with the AC on full blast... that won't effect performance...

  • @frogaliscious I noticed that on the Chevy Video too, also has the ventilated seats on too. Very Biased videos.

  • chevy blows big time !!!

  • your stupid if you constantly tow those trailers with a half ton, get the 2011 truck of the year, and then do you stupid tests...yea they chevy beat them all

  • it doesnt matter if you tow with a v6,v8, or a v10. its about how much torque your engine has and thats whats gonna help you tow. not a v8 or v6 its about torque.

Also back in 2007 when toyota redesigned the tundra and chevy redesigned the silverado they had new engines and were ahead of the game becuase they were the only 2 half-ton trucks that could tow 10,000 pounds. get my point. and im a freshman in highschool and i know more about vehicles that most dumbasses who talk shit.

  • are you shitting me the dodge 1500s ride WAAAAAY better than the ford. Lets have an exhaust competition and see who's truck sounds better the ecoboost would sound like a rice burner

  • to price: tundra

    to towing: ram

    to everything: ford

  • Really Guy's?? How much did they pay you to bash the Dodge & Chevy? I have no problem with Ford but you all are ridiculous. The newest design truck will always be a little ahead of the competition. When a new Chevy is released in a few years, it will out perform the Ford.

Guess what...this is coming from a Ford truck owner! I have an '03 7.3 Excursion that is twice to tow vehicle of any 1/2 ton truck.

  • BS

  • WOW!!! Not a little bias there are we?? Why waste your time making blatently bias vids??? I am a truck fan, always had one and will always have one. I like them all, some not as much as others!!! As far as towing goes, if your really worried about it, get something with glow plugs, cause real trucks dont run on gas!!!

  • I notice that the Dodge was not in Tow / Haul mode. I don"t search for gears when the transmission is in the correct mode. If you dont know where it is, It is right below the radio. As far as the headroom and the leg room. I am 6'2 and have a ton of head room. My sons are both as large as I am and both fit in the back seat behind me. Why dont you let a guy who knows how to drve a truck show you what a Dodge can do. Anyone who drives one of these Dodges could make you look like a fool.

  • Maybe its been asked, and explained but where all the gear ratio's the same?? Not much of a fair test if the gear ratio's arn't equal.

  • @phazer277 Yeah you are right about the gear ratio, it will make a heck of a difference. I have a 2003 heavy duty Ram with the 345 horsepower Hemi and a 4.10 axle ratio and it will smoke both the Dodge and the Ford in the video, I know this because we have a boat that weighs about the same as what they are towing in this video.

  • 8:37 "We're barely passing this guy!" HUH? You're fucking blowing by him! Then after you blew past the Ford, you sit there and talk about how weak the Dodge is as if the Ford has left you in the dust. Uh guess what...the Ford is BEHIND you. Just doesn't add up in this video, sorry!

  • 8:23 "You'll never catch him...I don't think?!" It's as if the d-bag camera guy realizes "holy shit, we ARE catching him...that's not supposed to happen!" Then the driver starts making excuses "Oh it's the driver, it's the traffic, well...uh, we haven't passed them yet" Meanwhile, the Dodge is pulling and passing the Ford. You idiots were sandbaggin' the dodge and you still won. Good job. You just sold a bunch of dodges!

  • bunch of fucking idiots!

  • turn off the ac and turn on the tow and haul and let see what happens...

  • I WANT TO RACE THIS GUY THATS TALKING WITH HIS ECOBOOST AGAINST MY HEMY. I WOULD PAY TO RACE THIS GUY.

  • What a load of crap !!!

The Dodge kicks the Fords butt...

Biased Ford testers,of coarse the Ford is going to come out on top !

  • this kinda seems like a biased video...nothing away from the eco boost ford nto a bad idea or anything. but i was wonderinf i have a 2011 ram with the 5.7 and my friend has a eco boost ford we have raced several times with no load and flat terrian from a roll and stop and my ram ran off and left his ford. does the weight make that large of a difference? any body with a explanation would help alot

  • that is a maxed up v6 (all they can do with that engine) vs a stock hemi v8 imagine what dodge can do with their hemis maxed up haha piss on ford

  • @javi3rlinux You're missing the point. The V6 EcoBoost has the fuel efficiency of a standard V6 engine yet it packs the power of a full-fledged V8.

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with the Hemi, the EcoBoost is just a much more well-rounded engine. It's extremely powerful and very fuel efficient. It really is a revolution in engines.

Also, you saw this test. Yes, the man is very biased, HOWEVER the test is not. That test proves the EcoBoost's superiority.

  • Comment removed

  • that twin turbo ford might be better but wait until shit starts breaking, twin turbo lots of boost equals disaster

  • i have just got back from one of these events n Canada and the ford engines rocked we won every drag race and we wiped the dodge and Chevy the tundra was broke it could not run, too bad. the ford also pulled the best the dodge was not bad but you could feel that the ford was better.

  • @kseuvsiinn The event was quite impressive wasn't it? The Ecoboost engines are tremendous!

  • @yourchattanoogaford .... you favor the ford

  • @yourchattanoogaford

Epic fail! I know so many ppl who have had catastrophic failures with the ecoboost.

  • @josh1303 provide details

  • ecoboost is better i'll give u that.....but i still love the look of the Ram...i still love my hemi....sorry

  • Who goes 80mph while towing? lol i own a 2010 dodge ram 1500 with a hemi, i have towed more than this and my ram performed perfect MORE than enough power, not saying the ecoboost f150 is junk but these dudes are so biased its hilarious!

  • Anyone noticed that the Tow/haul mode is not turned on. Come guys if your going to do something do it right.

  • @japl87

I know. I find that funny! I love Ford, and that's what i've owned over the past 5 years. However, this past weekend i traded by 2011 F150 with the 5.0 ( which sucks by the way) for a 2011 Ram 1500 Sport with the 5.7 Hemi. Enough said.

  • Comment removed

  • @japl87 what about the gears bet they have 3.21 on this hemi.

  • @japl87 what about the gears bet they have 3.21 on this hemi.

  • The Hemi looks like it did a pretty good job considering the weight in that trailer but not compared to that kinda technology even in a V6. Go Ford.

  • yo dumbass the trucks are not called dodge anymore its just ram

  • We have all heard the marketing hype, the fact is the word “Dodge” appears once in the interior (above radio, you can even see it in the video) and again on that large emblem on the tailgate. If Chrysler is serious about introducing the RAM as its own entity, they need to stop plastering “Dodge” on the truck and in the owner’s manual.

  • The tow/haul button completely changes the shift pattern in the transmission of the Dodge; it is not simply an overdrive lockout. The light on the dash indicating you had engaged this feature was noticeably missing. That hunting and poor performance was because the truck was still trying to get into over drive and use its cylinder shut off feature; push tow/haul and you would have had a very different test.

  • @norevlimit good call bud I never noticed that!!!! I have a 2010 dodge ram trx4 and your exactly right the tow haul makes a huge differnce. guess they never seen the button hidding right in the middle of the dash like that lol

  • I wonder how many people thought "Hey, why is a Dodge pulling a F-150 trailer?" Anyways, should never leave a Dodge to do a Ford's job. Ford all the way.

  • I am very disappointed in dodge. Ford and dodge are my favorite trucks but I always dodge to be on top and above ford

  • As someone that is currently shopping for a half ton pick up, the ecoboost engine is very interesting. I believe that while Ford changed the game for interiors in '04, they are currenly a touch behind the Chevy and Dodge. Also to correct a comment made in the video, the Dodge has the first application of coil springs in a half ton pick up. Pretty appealing to many people that mostly drive unloaded.

  • 6500 lbs. plu 4- 300 pouder guys for the ram and still complainig? the ford has 2 skinny guys in it,

  • anyone can add boost to an engine and guess what it makes more power. Ford acts like they invented the idea.what I wonder is how long until the ecoboost has head gasket problems. I have no doubt that the ecoboost has power but theres no replacement for displacement as far as reliability goes and I mean real world reliability not a phony Mike Rowe torture test that proves nothing. Only time will tell I guess

  • @neverestauto You are correct on saying only time will tell. However, Mike Rowe did not do the torture test. It was lab tested and also ran through the Baha 1000. That is pretty strenuous. Thanks for watching and let's see what happens over the next few years.

  • @yourchattanoogaford I am really hoping this engine works out for Ford as they needed a change from the old lazy 4.6l and 5.4l. Like I said the only thing I'm worried about is reliability In the past making huge power from a small engine was a recipe for disaster (6.0l diesel) lets hope history doesn't repeat itself and this engine holds true to what all the lab tests are saying. In the end as long as its made in north america its all right with me.

  • @yourchattanoogaford not biased my ass ur a ford dealer jesus all u say ford ford ford ford

  • @neverestauto You are right on the displacement, BUT you do not know your new motors well enough to make comments like this.

  • @lizard2006 Im an automotive tech for more then 10yrs and have worked on literally thousands of new and old ford chevys dodges so I know more then enough to make a comment like this, they have all have problems with this dodges 2.7l chevys 3.1l 3.4l fords 6.0l diesel (2003 fairly recent) they all made good power but when the going gets tough they give up. I like all the other changes ford made 4.6l now 5.0l, 5.4l now 6.2, 6.0l diesel now 6.7l seems ford agrees no replacement for displacement

  • @neverestauto I will put money that the turbo charged 3.5L is going to be fine. Its a great motor. The ecoboost is a great idea. Turbo charging a V6 is not the end of the world. People are upset that the little 3.5L is whooping the competition. The only issue I have with the 3.5L is it will never sound like a V8 when pipes are put on it, but other then that it will have the same take off and thrust of a V8.... Ford may of found a way to replace the displacement! deal with it!

  • @lizard2006 Time will tell!! turbo charging is not a new concept fords not the first and wont be the last one to do this Like i said before i hope it works good ford needed a change. as far as dealing with it Im sure I will when they come rolling in to my shop to be repaired. The only thing I wonder is why make the other engines at all if the ecoboost will blow them away. in the end I really dont care I have my opinion and you have yours thats whats great about this country. Have a nice day!!!

  • @neverestauto new no friction cylinder skirts...forged internals.. and it was built from scratch with newer technologies. They never said they invented the idea. They are just the first to put that kind of engine in a truck and they are proud of it..and I don't blame them for being proud...it tows better than everyone else. Plus it gets great mpg..some showed near 30mpg when going 45 mph.

  • @ashtrey05 exactly new tech is unproven in the real world. But like I said if it works out long term thats great. I would look in to buying one down the road, with fuel prices the way they are and mpgs like that how could you not at least give it a chance Thanks for the info

  • wow idc about Ford i just like my dodge 08 but you need to be going head to head with japans truck and all the others that think they are better no are own.

  • @prayb4udie Japan's only truck that matters is the Tundra. It was there, but because of a weak frame, it is not your best heavy duty towing option. The Tundra does have a heck of a powertrain underneath it though.

  • I know I'm hating a lot on the EcoBoost, but it really is a bad concept. I'm not saying at all that Ford trucks themselves are bad, but the EcoBoost is.

  • @iXetsuei There is nothing the matter with hating on the Ecoboost. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I just appreciate you taking the time to post in the thread. What makes you say the the Ecoboost is a bad concept?

  • @yourchattanoogaford I already posted why further down in the comments. Yes it's a bad concept in a truck, but in normal cars it's perfect. No hate on Fords either, I own a Mustang GT myself. But trucks need naturally aspirated engines. Heavy load + hot weather = turbos overheating. On the SVT Baja truck there was barely any load and plenty of high speed air to cool the turbos, which is why it had no problem.

So personally I would get the 6.2 BOSS.

  • @iXetsuei Um, I think you might like to know the twin turbos on the ecoboost are water cooled. So the overheating you mention is much less of issue.

As for trucks needing to be naturally aspirated, tell that to the transportation industry that's been using turbocharged diesels in trucks and buses for many years. I'm just sayin'

  • @wushock92 Yeah, most turbos are water cooled smart ass.

And you can't even compare this to a high displacement low RPM diesel engine, it's like comparing apples and oranges. They are COMPLETELY different engines. This is a brand new technology, diesel trucks have been around for decades. That and there is no point to not put a turbo on a diesel because of the huge power gains you get from it. You are a dumbass, think before you comment.

  • @iXetsuei Personal insults aside, I appreciate your bringing me up to speed on the modern turbocharger. Most of my experience with turbos (and superchargers) has been with oil-cooled turbos, not water cooled. So what I thought was an interest method of cooling the turbos was not so interesting after all. Guess I gotta get out more.

  • @yourchattanoogaford because a twin turbo v6 gas engine is less reliable than a v8! With the ecoboost you have to worry about cracking your Duratec engine block thats aluminum and made for mid sized cars, blowing turbos, it happens.... but on the other hand a iron block 5.7l hemi v8 is N/A and all you have to worry about that is using shitty gas and old oil. Also with a v8 you can get about the same fuel mileage as a twin turbo v6. Thats why the ecoboost is a bad concept for a truck

  • By the way, you cannot compare an EcoBoost in the Baja 1000 to an EcoBoost in the regular F150 towing 6500lbs in the 110 degree Arizona desert. With the Baja 1000 the truck had no load but that of the truck itself, it was going at high speeds as to cool the engine/turbos better, and had better cooling all around.

When you try to tow this much weight in high heat levels with the EcoBoost, I guarantee it will have problems. Just wait until more people start buying them.

  • Pretty simple reason why the EcoBoost fails here. At those highway speeds with trucks the aerodynamics are so bad it's really the only thing keeping the truck from going faster. And of course, for a higher speed you need more horsepower, not more torque. The RAM has both more horsepower and better aerodynamics, which is why it wins.

All in all, these people really talk way too much shit.

  • seems like u guys r having a great time talking shit on the dodge even though it blew by the ford twice

  • @Hitmannick10 Please watch all of the videos. Traffic and drivers were a factor in that. We were not beating on the Dodge. It's not a bad truck. However, the Ecoboost outperformed ALL of the V-8s...Ford, Dodge, Chevy, and Toyota.

  • The coil spring debat is getting old, all you hear from ford is the bashing of coil springs. You do know that the H1 hummer that the military uses, also uses Coil Springs, they don't seem to have any trouble with them. But really these are 1/2 ton pickups, get a 3/4 ton for work, 1/2 ton to haul people. Any brand of truck being driven like that all the time will spend alot of time in the shop. I wonder if the people testing these trucks drive their trucks or cars like that.

  • @turbomopar1 Your right these guys know that the dodge truck is more RELIABLE and powerful than the F150 they're just trying to cover for ford's sucky trucks and are they really making fun of the interior. I don't see ford winning any awards for it's interior. Come on don't buy any of this crap from people who don't know what they're talking about.

  • Any one can make a video seem what they want it to be! Check it out youtube.com/watch?v=OC2KXxb2dTM

  • @Nephi2006 We did not make the video to be one way or the other. We just try to be enthusiastic in our videos. The Ecoboost in particular was hands down better than the other Ford engines. It also outperformed the competitors V-8s.

  • @yourchattanoogaford

The phrase "pull your head out of your ass" comes to mind.

If the ecoboost is the best you got, I say "keep right" when you see a Ram's head behind you.

  • And yes Ford I pulled it all the way home also with no problems

  • I did put air bags in the coil springs $200.00

  • @Nephi2006 Im sure that helped tremendously. The Ram is a good ride, but the air bags help alot.

  • 2010 ram hemi crew cab 390 hp 3.11 rear pulling 9800 lb fifth wheel over Snoqualmie pass then south all the way to Boise in heavy wind and snow 70 mph with no problems I never maxed out my rpms or used hard braking down the grades the tow haul feature was great! A real comfortable ride.

  • @Nephi2006 The Ram is a good truck. We did not max out the RPMs when towing. The torque curve just made the RPMS shoot way up when we had it to the floor.

  • If a product is better it's better. If u represent that product fine.

But that guy in the back is such a douche lol. I wanna say what a fan boy but he does work for them by the sounds of it. He just has a condescending way about him.

  • @yourchattanoogaford

I apologize i guess your just doing your job jsut wanna see it fair

  • The fact that he is "obeying the law" really isn't the point. You asked him to pass, he did. At about 9:10 in this video after you "barely" passed the car, you were at 90mph and 5500 rpm in the Dodge. I bet ther Ford would be very similar because IN YOUR F-150 VIDEO for a brief moment at 4:14(pause) you can see your driver is at 5000rpm at only 80mph. I'm a big fan of Ford but there's a reason you catch "flack".

  • @sorensenaj0143 I meant 4:44 on the ford video not 4:14 sorry.

  • @yourchattanoogaford How was the hot weather testing? Out here in AZ during the summer towing 6500 lbs with your foot to the floor doing 85+ usually equals some serious water and oil temps.

  • @fasttoyo They ran this engine through the Baja 1000. Go to fordvehicles and look at the F150 ecoboost torture test.

  • @yourchattanoogaford Like I went into further detail below, that is a complete marketing ploy. The Baja truck was stripped out (weighed barely anything), had better cooling, and they were going at much higher speeds which cools the engines/turbos better.

In a real world condition where fattoyo's scenario were to happen, the turbos would most likely overheat. In fact I wouldn't doubt that Ford tried it themselves and the turbos did overheat, so they kept quiet about it and used the Baja story.

  • Come on guys really? I'm as big a ford fan there is, but this is just ridiculous. The dodge ram is clearly holding its own here and is a good truck as well.

  • @sorensenaj0143 Actually, no the Dodge didnt. The other driver was just "obeying the law". We actually drove both trucks HARD. Watch both videos from inside the cab. Compate the RPMS, loko at how fast the odomer accelerated on each.

  • @sorensenaj0143 ill agree, im a dodge fan but am interested in this new eco boost. the hemi held its own, it is not a bad truck and if your doing to be towing a 6500lb trailer on a regular basis, you need a 3/4 ton with the right gears..you can have all the motor in the world but it will not justify itself without a decent tranny and gears

  • @sorensenaj0143 you are right, it is not fair.

  • Nice... wait didn't ford play around with turbo gas engines in the 80s? What happened with that? Oh right, completely forgot; they were unreliable crap.

  • @fasttoyo Actually, many people have "played around" with turbo technology in the past. In the past, turbos were known to have oil set in them and "coke" up, eventually making the turbo non functional. However, if you watch the segment where they talk about the technologies, the oil is water cooled now, keeping temperatures way down, preventing coke buildup.

  • @yourchattanoogaford Ecoboost isn't that just a fancy way of saying turbocharged? This seems to be the only way Ford can get the same horsepower as Dodge. Remember the Ford lightening? A supercharged V-8, without the supercharger a 360 Dodge would have stomped it! NOW what do you think would happen if Dodge added a turbo to the Hemi? Oh and that "NEW" Water cooled turbo oil was invented by Dodge in the 1980's for the turbo 4 engines! so it looks like Ford is again using 30 year old Dodge tech!

  • Alright, lets' review:

2:46-ford is at the bottom of the ramp already and the Dodge is just taking off.

3:30-The Dodge has caught the ford and has to back off. :)

4:00+The ford is looking at Ram tail lights until 5:30 at the traffic light

    8:23-"You'll never catch him...............I don't think?"

8:30-Apparently you thought wrong. Hee Hee. :)

At least one guy in the Dodge was smart enough to keep his mouth shut. The other three sound like complete idiots.

    Nice job, Guys!

  • @ExMxer3 he didnt even up shift in the ram 5.7l v8

  • @ExMxer3 Alright, lets review:

2:46 - The Dodge is the one being tested and floors it as much as he can to get to 80 (which takes forever)

3:30 - Again, the Dodge is being tested and was trying to get to 80 and the Ford is just regular driving :)

4:00 + The Dodge was seeing how well it could pass a constant speed vehicle. It wasn't a race.

8:30 - They are fighting through traffic, and how did the F-150 know to floor it and and try to not let the Dodge pass?

    Nice job ridiculing yourself!

  • THIS IS SOMETHING YOU SHOULD CONCIDER!.

If you were to take off the two turbo's from the Fords Ecoboost, and then do another head on comparison between the two. What would the end result be?

It's just like a 5.9L Cummins turbo VS the 8.3 with natural injection. No comparison at all.

Also take in acount (this has been mentioned before) the differnce between the 5 and 6 speed transmissions. Dodge is still useing a 3 speed with two overdrives.

  • @mojame100 I agree, its time for a new transmission. They have been using the same gear ratios for nearly 20 years it seems. My Durango had the same gear ratios (4spd) as the ram showed in the video and that was terrible untill i added some power adders. I mean come on... First to 50mph.. Second to nearly 100.. wtf is that! The "proper" gearing that has been established for gas engines is 4.20's First 40, second 60, Third 90, Fourth 130 etc. Not 3 gears to 200mph (not that they go that fast lol)

  • @clarda1

Well the older 4 speeds based on the torque Flight transmission had ratio more suitable for a muscle car not a pick-up truck. I myself had a Dakota 318 motor with a 46 RE or A518 and it had the same gear ratios as did the 727.

    1st 2.45, 2nd 1.45 3rd 1.0

so tell me how that help when towing a load as seen in the video??

Good news is that if Dodge (Ram) gets the go ahead to add in the new 6.4L hemi or the 4.5L V6 Turbo from Cummins; expect to see the new 8 speed (88 REF)

  • lol "5800 rpm and were barley passing this guy" - As you fly by

  • @clarda1 It was unreal. The Dodge was not a bad truck. It just didnt have the power or torque curve of the Ecoboost. Nor did any other V-8 there...Ford's V8s included!

  • @yourchattanoogaford I understand the power curve of the of twin turbo 3.5L but i dont think most people would opt for it. Towing aside, is the 3.5L TT faster than the 6.2L (chevy and ford) and the 5.7L?

  • Also we all know the 5 speed with the gearing in the ram blows, dodge cant get it through their head that using the same gear ratios for 10 years straight is bad! Sure you say the echo boost 3.5L is more powerful but the way you sound it just sounds so biased it is hard to believe. Everything is "Well ford has blah blah, But dodge ONLY has blah blah" . BTW the Ram interior is FAR nicer inside. some one says "This truck just flat out isnt as nice" LMAO come on seriously?

  • @clarda1 Yes, I am biased. However, when it comes down to flat power, I wasn't biased on that part. The Ecoboost outperformed all V-8s there, including Ford. Ford has hit a homerun with this engine!

  • @clarda1 What I don't understand is why Chrysler didn't go with the same 5 speed of the LX cars?? Sure, it was a Benz transmission but much more suitable due to and extra gear (4th) and also aggressive gearing for towing duties.

  • @clarda1

Also, it would have been perfect if Dodge considerd putting the 4.5L V6 cumming as part of the engine line up.

  • Not a bad video but i do think it is biased.. the second you get into the ram you complain about head and room shoulder room, you say how its squatting with 6,500 pounds which you fail to say about the ford even though it probably is. I find it hard to beleive that you were flooring it the whole time on the interstate. I pulled 6,000 pounds with my 2000 dodge durango with the 5.9L and it was faster than that. And dealing with the gain, the difference could just be USER adjustment.

  • why the F would you do coil springs in the back....dumb!!!LOL

    DODGE=FAIL!!!

  • Thats a nice truck there .... give me one with 3.92 gears and $100 set of airbags and i would be good to go!!!

  • @heathk2003

It wasnt a bad truck. It just didnt have the power of the Ecoboost. None of the V8s did, Ford included. The Dodge wound out at 5000 RPM and had alot of trouble going from 70mph to 80mph. It is an improvment over past Dodges though. However, I still haven't figured out what they are trying to do with coil springs in the rear.

  • @yourchattanoogaford

It is a trade-off, they are going more for plushness with the coils and you can't believe how well it rides over the stutter bumps, its almost like an independent rear suspension using a solid axle.

Great review on the Ecoboost, I hope to get one for my wife in the spring to go with my '10 Ram 1500.

  • @yourchattanoogaford

If you have'nt figured out what Dodge is doing with coil springs, wait a few years..............everyone else will be running them.

  • where is the tundra?

  • @johnsmith2wz1

The Tundra was in another group. It performed 2nd to 3rd best in most cases. They have a good powertrain lineup(engine and transmission), yet have a weak frame. Toyota has to make some changes in the next few years to be a serious competitor in the truck market, starting with their frame.

  • @yourchattanoogaford

    Correction.

Toyota needs to put out two types of HD Tundra'ss in order to be a serious competitor.

  • LMAO you guys are just a bunch of dumb Hillbilly's. next time try, put the dodge into tow and haul mode, and oh heres another tip. the next time you try this little towing thing try the dodge with the original 3.55 rear end. you will see that a little 3.5l will get rapped by the ram. PS HAHAH pretty shitty marketing strategy, like come on? what guy would take a v6 truck over a v8, OMG A TWIN TURBO TRUCK :P nuff said. YOU Just got told by a 15 year old that knows 10X more than you

  • @greenbikecoWPGMB

Actually, the Dodge was not a bad truck. It clearly out performed the Chevy. It also did as well as the Ford 5.4L. However, this is NOT the ONLY video we made. There is a video in the series that shows the Ecoboost engine by Ford. You seem familiar with it. Watch the video. Man, I'm telling you, I was shocked. I would not have thought the Ecoboost would outdo a 5.4L Tritor or 5.8L Hemi either. It didn't just outperform the big engines, it blew them away.

  • Comment removed

  • @yourchattanoogaford The Ram has a 5.7 or 345 cid v8. Interesting note is that Chrysler will also add a larger 6.4L Hemi with better low end torque. Also the Diesel option "4.5L V6" diesel could still be on the shelf for a half ton option. So that would be very interesting to compare a Turbo V6 oil burner to a V6 gasser.

  • @greenbikecoWPGMB Why would someone want an ecoboost over a conventional v8? Better fuel economy and a diesel like torque curve. It's also nice to stand out from the crowd. How embarrassed will you be when your "hemi" gets overtaken by a ford with an engine nearly half the size?

  • @DeepVoiceMan

That is correct. You get 90% of the torque between 1700 and 5000 RPM. That Ecoboost is able to keep climbing with a heavy load behind it. The conventional V8s, whether it be Dodge, Chevy OR Ford can't do the same. They don't have the same torque.

  • @greenbikecoWPGMB haha bro get your trolling ass out of here. The v6 is literally blowing away the big blocks. While you cry at the pump for the simple fact of having a v8 everyone else will be laughing when you get smoked. The twin turbos is what will send your hemi into the lower ranks. "innovation" look it up

  • @greenbikecoWPGMB Tow haul mode just makes the engine rev higher before it shifts. it doesnt give it more power... You don't press a button and give it an extra 100 hp. Just face it, Ford is way ahead of the competition.

  • @53963

Ford is way ahead of anything they have every produced theirselved. We are about to see things that noone else has ever seen in vehicles--ACROSS THE BOARD.

  • @yourchattanoogaford

    And Ford is not broke.

  • Interesting. I love Ford they are now in the lead with all of their new ground breaking technology and advancements to their vehicles. And thats why I want to work for Ford some day
