I had teachers talk about their religious beliefs when I was at Bellarmine (the school she teaches at). It's a Catholic school; religion is part of the curriculum. However, it was never presented as "you must believe this"--one of the two all-school Masses we had each year included prayers from students of a variety of faiths. If her political beliefs are brought up in class (I don't remember them brought up when I had her as a teacher), I would imagine and hope they are presented similarly.

Why is it bad for a teacher to have her own life outside of school. As long as it's not illegal what's the deal? The kids are old enough to make their own opinions.

I had teachers talk about their religious beliefs when I was at Bellarmine (the school she teaches at). It's a Catholic school; religion is part of the curriculum. However, it was never presented as "you must believe this"--one of the two all-school Masses we had each year included prayers from students of a variety of faiths. If her political beliefs are brought up in class (I don't remember them brought up when I had her as a teacher), I would imagine and hope they are presented similarly.
