@TheAmericanOriginal well, the beginning riffs of both songs sounds similar to me, but I think it's not the same tone, so perhaps some people can't notice it.?
@creeplys Okay my bad. I picked up my guitar and figured it out. The intro riffs in both songs have notes in the same relative positions. But the differences outweigh the similarity = different instrument, rhythm, time signature, and key (Matilda Mother in B minor, In Another Land in C minor, the keys only a half step apart so they sound almost the same)
The song is great I'd say it wouldve been even better without that dreadful effect they put on Wyman's vocal but then its a rare lead performance by him as a Stone so cant complain too much.
@TheAmericanOriginal The tremolo represents the oncoming of LSD. It's one of the first things you notice when it starts to kick in. I remember it with the Happy Mondays' Hallelujah lol
@freemasones advanced for its time ..are you kidding ???the Monkees were doing better pschedelia than this !!pink floyd were doing better stuff 2 years before ,
I hate psychedelic drugs and I love this song soooooo much

Steve's voice is clearly audible at the very end, 2:45 onward.

I think I was the only person who bought this as a single - still have it, and the picture sleeve that came with it.

I love this theme, it is very advanced for its time, had many effects, the truth, the Stones have nothing to envy the beatles

@whoarethebrainpigs when I talk about the Rolling Stones, I speak in general of all the psychedelic bands of 60, all were very ahead of its time

The Great Steve Marriott is supposed to be in here. That makes it one of my more favorite Stones songs. RIP Steve

@chippy783 Yes, and the fact that Ronnie Lane's also playing on this one doesn't make it worse. RIP Steve and Ronnie.
