I believe Israel decided disarming Hezbollah was imperative. It does not help to describe Israelis as devils that kill innocent for pleasure. They are rational and, from a purely pragmatic standpoint, they knew the killing of innocents in such a large number only harms their interests. No, he did not explain how he justifies Hezbollah's tactics of provoking a war then hiding, stocking and firing rockets from civilian areas and so provoking the death of 1.200 Lebanese. They knew Israel would try to eliminate the rocket firing from where it was coming, and destroy the infrastructure that was serving Hizbollah. These are common responses in war. What is not common is for fighters to force many hundreds compatriot civilians to die, as Hezbollah did. Many Lebanese detest Hezbollah.

I believe Israel decided disarming Hezbollah was imperative. It does not help to describe Israelis as devils that kill innocent for pleasure. They are rational and, from a purely pragmatic standpoint, they knew the killing of innocents in such a large number only harms their interests. To say they had the intention to kill hundreds of innocents makes no sense. They were after Hezbollah, which strategically operated from civilian premises and politically capitalized on the death of innocents.
