Yes becuase the truth is , there are no updates and haven't been for up to a year becuase universal is still trying to procure the rights to the child's play title from mgm which is currently going bankrupt, which basically means as sad is it is , it's going to be a miracle if this film is ever made. MGM hated the series that's why they sold it to universal, but once they saw how much money they made off the sequals they don't want to sell the rights for universal to do a remake

Yeah he was in both those Halloween movies as Sheriff Brackett as well as doing other roles such as Grima Wormtongue in the Peter Jackson LOTR movies, Billy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and The Gemini Killer in The Exorcist 3 (the ONLY good sequel to the Exorcist and if a darker Chucky was made for the remake I'd want it on the same level of creepy as he was in that) where he actually makes a reference to Child's Play in one of his lines.
The idea of a darker remake of Child's Play is a bit so so for me. I don't think Chucky's necessarily "scary" as much as some other things or in talking doll cases Talking Tina so maybe he'd be scarier in it and as long as they still used puppets and the script worked maybe it'd work better than the other slasher remakes did, but it also risks the innocent style of the original. Not to mention it doesn't really look dated or anything and is only 22 years old. But I'm glad they kept Brad at least
Freddy's voice is intimidating but that's because it's altered. They recorded Robert's voice and slowed it down to get that darker tone. Dourif was all natural with the voice I believe. He was great and if anything can be said for the sequels especially the last two it's that he, Tilly, and Boyd were at least seeming to work well together and did a nice job with the voices despite the stories. He seems to often give his roles everything he has.
I tried this on my chucky doll, in my room with candles around me, my mom walked in and she's like "What the hell are you doing" LOL! BTW It didn't work :' (

@redman27805 They are making a new one. Don Mancini...(i think that's how you spell it)...who was the original director is doing it. They managed to get Dourif to do the voice too so all's swell. They also said that they are getting rid of the humor and going back to its Child's Play 1 roots. ;)
You know when you think about it, a simple dude who looks like a douchey strangler (No offense to Dourif) who learns voo-doo on a daily basis then transfer his soul into the doll looks more scarier in the doll, it's just kinda weird that he doesn't look intimidating until he's in the doll, I guess being a doll has it's charms.
He souldve been The Joker in Batman 1989. As much as I love Jack Nicholson, he was too much money. Casting Dourif wouldve been cheaper, and he wouldve used the rest of that money to make the visuals and everything about the movie better(of course thats not saying much)
I've always wondered at what point in his career did he develop a reputation for playing violent, sociopathic criminals? He's sure good at it. Not that it would've added to the story, but I always wanted to know Charles Lee Ray's background, in the same way that other horror movie killers have a background story.

Such an amazing and underrated actor. Have always loved his work. I thought he did an amazing job as Sheriff Brackett in the Halloween remake and sequel. He was so believable as both an authoritative figure and a dad. Made you feel for him after what happened to Annie. Too bad he doesn't get as much recognition as he should.

I agree but the problem is that he's horribly underrated. It's a shame because he's an oscar nominated actor and he's always stealing the show in any movie he appears in. Also, I was really saddened that he didn't get more recognition after he starred in the Lord of the Rings movies.
Out of all the actors I've ever known, Brad Dourif's the one I want to meet and work with the most if I ever get into the entertainment business. And while Hollywood may not recognize his talent, his fans will.
I love seeing him in movies and he's such a great actor it's hard to pik it up that it's him. Child's Play of course, but also Exorcist 3, Lord of the Rings, and Alien Ressurection just to name a few. He makes his voice so different it's hard to tell at times. Amazing actor though. Glad he's doing the remake. Chucky isn't my favorite slasher but I can't imagine anyone but him voicing Chucky.

@redman27805 They are making a new one. Don Mancini...(i think that's how you spell it)...who was the original director is doing it. They managed to get Dourif to do the voice too so all's swell. They also said that they are getting rid of the humor and going back to its Child's Play 1 roots. ;)

You know when you think about it, a simple dude who looks like a douchey strangler (No offense to Dourif) who learns voo-doo on a daily basis then transfer his soul into the doll looks more scarier in the doll, it's just kinda weird that he doesn't look intimidating until he's in the doll, I guess being a doll has it's charms.

He souldve been The Joker in Batman 1989. As much as I love Jack Nicholson, he was too much money. Casting Dourif wouldve been cheaper, and he wouldve used the rest of that money to make the visuals and everything about the movie better(of course thats not saying much)

I've always wondered at what point in his career did he develop a reputation for playing violent, sociopathic criminals? He's sure good at it. Not that it would've added to the story, but I always wanted to know Charles Lee Ray's background, in the same way that other horror movie killers have a background story.

Yeah me too, I think we'll find out more about that in the remake :) based on what I've read and gathered. There will be more of Charle's Lee Ray before he becomes "Chucky" lol or transfers his soul into the doll I should say.

Such an amazing and underrated actor. Have always loved his work. I thought he did an amazing job as Sheriff Brackett in the Halloween remake and sequel. He was so believable as both an authoritative figure and a dad. Made you feel for him after what happened to Annie. Too bad he doesn't get as much recognition as he should.

I agree but the problem is that he's horribly underrated. It's a shame because he's an oscar nominated actor and he's always stealing the show in any movie he appears in. Also, I was really saddened that he didn't get more recognition after he starred in the Lord of the Rings movies.
Out of all the actors I've ever known, Brad Dourif's the one I want to meet and work with the most if I ever get into the entertainment business. And while Hollywood may not recognize his talent, his fans will.

I love seeing him in movies and he's such a great actor it's hard to pik it up that it's him. Child's Play of course, but also Exorcist 3, Lord of the Rings, and Alien Ressurection just to name a few. He makes his voice so different it's hard to tell at times. Amazing actor though. Glad he's doing the remake. Chucky isn't my favorite slasher but I can't imagine anyone but him voicing Chucky.
