@arcadium82 I got a bottle of this a couple of months ago for my birthday and despite the high alcohol content, it is got quite a bit of flavour and character. Some like to add a splash of cold water with it, but I found I didn't need to. Hope you enjoy your experience with this fantastic whisky.
@golfguy777 I got it in about a week ago. This whisky is magisterial. I will admit that being only 18, I don't think I can truely appreciate this whisky to its fullest, simply because I've only started my journey into the world of whisky. As my tastes mature, I'm sure that I'll realize the divinity of this whisky.
My Favorite..I Premiered Cask in the United States at the St. Andrews of Detroit Highland Games about 5 years ago. The oldest Highland Games in North America..116.8 proof..Ye ow..
I had a bottle of something I can not recall(coincidence? I'm just kidding, that stuff was too potent to abuse.) commemorating the repeal to the 21st amendment that came with that glass.
20 minutes later...
It was old forester.
:D
It is noon and I'm seriously considering going to the store to pick up a bottle right now.
That settles it, I'm off!
Thank you.
I look forward to your other vids, and deservedly, I subscribed to your channel.
This stuff is great and it really has a lot of flavour highly recommended i don't like to add water to it at all , the first bottle did not last long at all as all my friends were all over it. thier reaction was the same as the reviewer "WOW' lol
Your review comments were almost identical to mine. The sweetness, both in the nose and the flavor, I thought were candied apricots. And just a ton of heat. I really like it.
saw one the other day (since they are cask strength and can't be toiled with much after maturation) that was bottled at 59.3% abv... i was a little shocked , yet intrigued....
Had some folks over a little ago, and one guy brought some of this. I was drinking Highland Park and tried some. I really liked the sherry, and found the flavor to be very full and round.
Hey peatluvr, I remember you saying that Auchentoshan Three Wood reminded you of another scotch, and I find this Macallan Cask strength with a dash of water to be similar in boldness and flavor of the Auchentoshan Three Wood without the thickness in body. Keep up the great reviews, I love to watch your reviews while I try a new scotch.
I just ordered a bottle. I'm salivating in anticipation.

I love how it seems like peatluvr gets more and more loose/tipsy as he tastes the cask strength - it's the good stuff!
