@WJHHunterston : it is where they eat all the non reptilian tasty worker humans, especially the ignorant goyim ( gentiles) who put X-factor before real life.i have a entire hardback book on the island,so if you have a proper question on construction, just ask away, and i ll look it up.
It is a very fine, high quality piece of work. You shouldn't let your feelings about the patron control your judgement of the architecture. Many fine buildings were commissioned by tyrants, including some of the greatest in the world.
thats a pretty close up of the castle...when i seen it from the boat 2 sark frm gurensey it was pretty far away....my dad worked 4 the brothers on sark...and stayed at sark my self......beautiful place, but besides from the scenery i we done nothin but get piss mortal everynight cuz theres nowt else 2 do......its very easy 2 fall in 2 the trap on them islands..
Just because they wanted to avoid having to pay tax to the Seigneur on the purchase of the island and building of that castle, they forced that democarcy on the historic last Feudal state.
They shipped in thousands of concrete blocks by chinook helicopter when they built it so I think it is mostly made of concrete blocks. It is rumoured that it also has a big underground cellar and vault below ground level as well. Not many people like what they are doing there.
@MrBooojangles Most new buildings use concrete blocks for the inner leaf and internal walls. Similarly many "stone" buildings build in the nineteenth century were mainly cheap brick underneath. You only put the expensive materials where they will show.
@MrBooojangles Even buildings that we think of as being "solid stone" like the great medieaval cathedrals and castles are often made of cheap rubbley material once you get behind the facings. Solid stone construction is very rare.
@AFCR1972 Come to think of it I have seen what you describe in garden walls made with stone here. There are nice, large, neat, facing stones on the outside but filling the middle third of it's width is small stones and rubble.

Now, if they'd just stay in their castle and leave the people of Sark alone, all would be well with the world.
