  • That water runs for more than 2 minutes, which is the ideal time to spend showering.

  • hitchcock used hershey's syrup in this scene, since it was filmed in b+w

  • It might not be "scary" as in making you jump. But is is unquestioningly horrible, as in seeing someone knifed to death before your very eyes. Terrible!!

  • épic, except the quality of this video!

  • What's that stabby theme song

  • @xPancakes4lyf

    it`s called "the murder"

  • I was watching this on TV once and my mom came up and said she wished I could go back in time and see it in 1960... BEFORE anyone knew a thing about split personalities, crossdressing, etc. Ad to that the fact that the STAR was killed less than 1/3 through the film -- un heard of -- and she said the audience FREAKED OUT!

  • omfg

  • lol

  • You´re a cool, tough guy, he?

  • I watched it and it didnt really bother me, not ever body shares the same emotions.

  • ive just seen the movie but it wasnt so scary as i tought it shall be:P

  • I've learned something very important from watching this ... DAYLIGHT HOURS ONLY FILM.

  • good music

  • When i was 6, this used to scare me. now im 12, and when i see this, i start laughing.

  • great film,great scene

  • Hahahaha

  • crreeepyyy

THIS MOVIE WAS UNTOUCHABLE. THEY NEVER EVER EVER EVER! should have remade this movie!

  • Is this the original scene, or the remade one?

  • original

    duh

    lol

  • original, its black and white

  • interesting trivia: In black and white films they used "chocolate sauce" as blood, usually. Yep, good old hot fudge sauce, Bosco (rember Bosco?), chocolate syrup etc.

  • it appears thicker, like real blood straight out of the veins.

  • Ha, they don't really kill people.

And I'm 100% sure you can't buy blood off the Red Cross

    ;)

  • but in the US, you can sell your blood to the red cross, or some other thingy like that. thats what really desperate people do for money, cuz u dont get alot.(like, 40 bucks for a pint?)

  • To do the blood scene where you see it going down the drain, they used Hersheys cocoa powder. I saw it on tv on how they did special effects on horror movies.

  • chocolate syrup acutally :)

  • Everything was brown on a B/W set. If anything needed painting, it got light brown or dark brown. It gave a more predictable effect on B/W film than grey paint would (plus it was cheap)

  • OMG!

  • this is absolutely brilliat

the music creeps so me out so much, but I still love it

  • Thats one hard-ass woman, being stabbed that many times and all. But the real question is why was she having a shower when she should have been in the kitchen?

  • why should i see the movie now :p

  • I watched this without music, its about half as scary as with, then i watched it without music at night, and that changed my mind a bit. but then i watched it WITH music at night, then i couldn't sleep. for about an hour.

  • why see a movie without music ?

  • yeh, the music absolutely kicks ass in this movie.....it just sends the viewer over the edge. The audience in the early 60s would just go hysterical over this.

  • I've always believed music is crucial to good film and this scene proves it.

  • Great art doesn't gets older.

  • lol i think the music is more scary than the actual scene

  • Hello people! This movie was made back in the 1960s. Of course it won't be scary to us now. And there isn't a lot of blood because they were more concerned about psychological thrills and tension rather than pointless bloodshed. Back in the 60s, people found this frightening. We have a different perception of what is scary now.

  • I find it pretty suspensful and frightening now. It's a women getting repeatdly stabbed in the shower. How is that not scary?

  • actually ur right but it's still so scary

  • @TJSimulation I agree, back in the 60's this was really scary, in the theatre's during this movie, some viewers experienced fainting and vomiting..this is not that scary we know today

  • I think its a pretty good scence...

  • It is scary, dead gum it
