  • 'Just as it seemed as if they might drown, the sea parted. And through it came #80, Rick Upchurch." Super Bowl XII

  • @Rebwasthebest00 Yeah I am from UK and know all the different names - I was just asking if the guys from USA knew of it, as these tracks get a lot of views from there. It turns out a lot of tracks were used for NFL football.

  • lot of producers sampled this.

  • Did any of you guys from the USA ever hear of the show all these tunes are from? I think it was called 'Caged Women' in US and Canada, shown in the 1980s.

  • @juniourmoult I can't say that I remember "Caged Woman" juniormoult. I am familiar with all of these great tunes & composers (Bennett, Mansfield, Pearson, Lindup, Hawkshaw, et al) from NFL Films (American Football).

Allow me to take the opportunity here to THANK YOU for your superb uploads and great channel!!!

  • Ahhh yes... Rick Upchurch retuning a kickoff in the Super Bowl XII highlights

  • @webs78

Is that when this track was played, during that play?. Never really like SB XII can't remember a thing a bout it.

I'd want it played to something like....Starr and the Packers on the last , game winning drive in the Ice Bowl.Or Kapp leading the Vikings against the Rams in the 69' playoff. It would have to be something dramatic, featuring the old pros....in the snow or mud.

  • @6400az Yes, webs78 is right on the money as usual. This was played behind Rick Upchurch's weaving 67-yd kickoff return in the Super Bowl XII highlight film. While it's a memorable film segment for me, I agree...the tune would've been better suited for the snow and cold.

  • @kgmule

Yes.... I do rmemember Upchurch's return, but just did'nt get much into that Superbowl. I was still sulking since the Cowboys had beaten my Vikings two weeks before SB XII.I knew that was pretty much it for the Vikings I grew up with.

Each of these NFL Film tracks has a special, place for the individual. Take one track, while our favorite player is scoring or making a great play and we'll take those memories to our graves.

  • @6400az Very, very true 6400.

  • @kgmule

Couple of years ago, took the family to see " Pirates of he Carribean" ( the play). Suddenly they started playing and NFL Films track but with words!! Corny as it sounded it still resonated. I was no longer in the theatre, but was magically transported back to the place of gridiron glory.

  • @kgmule For background of all those pathetic Packers teams from the late 70's, I'm sure it was used for some sort of 10-7 loss to Minnesota or something.

  • @marquettefootball Hilarious. I can see Terdell Middleton now.

  • This is classic NFL Films music......just haven't heard it in a looong time. Phenomonal !!

  • "Mouse" is left behind at the service station as Judy Bryant disappears (166)
