The central bank created more money in 2009 than in the entire history of the United States. Exponential credit growth worked wonders for Argentina, The Weimar Republic, and Zimbabwe.

@classc63 Liberal economics is Keynesian economics. Bush was Keynesian. Obama is a Keynesian. You can't solve the problem of too much debt with more of it. You can't solve the problem of too much consumption with housing credits and cash for clunkers. Obama = Bush. There is no change. The wars won't end. The spending won't get under control. Ultimately the currency will collapse and we'll be working for the equivalent of Mexican Pesos.

According to what I found "Keynes argued that government policies could be used to increase aggregate demand, thus increasing economic activity and reducing unemployment and deflation." And from what I gathered this was the same theory that FDR employed during the Great Depression...so what exactly is your point?

Also I totaly disagree that Bush followed this economic policy. His great idea was sending out checks tp everyone and going to war...the later worked in 1917 but didn't in 2001.

@classc63 Stimulus is Keynesian. Sending out checks increases aggregate demand....till the money runs out. Slashing interest rates, running up deficits and increases in government spending. Classic prime the pump Keynesian economics. Washington is run by Keynesian economists. It has been for decades. Keynesian economics is the primary economic theory taught in American colleges and universities. Hi, I'm earth. Have we met?
