Sure would like a side-by-side comparision of heads without someone talking over it all the time. Really cannot listen to the sound of the head with the announcer talking over it. Set up two or three toms of the same size each with a different head and play them all so we can really compare them, please.

I got this drum head, loved it :) after I switched it out, it seemed like every other head had no where near as much tone and shine as the Black X! Plus it's great with ghost notes and rolls, highly recommended!

To anyone using black suede heads, does the black coloring wear off onto your drumstick tips? I had that issue with Ebony Pinstripes and I didn't like it since it ended up rubbing off the drumstick tips and onto the cymbals.

@IronCobraKid I would recommend Clear Ambassadors for your resonant heads but it is all personal preference check out the Remo website and don't be afraid to experiment with different head combinations until you find your sound.

@pugNdrum you can always do the old "tape-a-paper-towel-to-the-bac­k-of-the-batter-head" trick. that's what i used to do, my snare sounded great in studio.

i agree...i have the emperor x snare head on my main snare and i had trouble tuning it at first...you need to tighten the head for a nice sound though...this could also be that my main snare is a piece of crap though :P

yeah the only thing about the emperor x is the coating comes off after an hour of play! i dont even hit that hard because i play mainly fusion style music that involves jazz, funk, rock. i now use their whitemax marching snare head and love it!
