yeah people do, but the emotions get to people.. ill give you one example... if you see on the clip, you will see the police preventing people from praying in front of the imam (in front as in, not in front of him at the same side of the kabba) now if they werent there, people would just keep joining the line, thus they will be in front of the imam.. nullifying their prayer. also a lot of biddah goes on, youd be suprised.

AA, I am trying to understand how can some people prey so close to Q'aba while the imam is even behind Maqam e Ibrahim ? How can those people close to Qaba's salat be counted if they are in front of the Iamam ? I follow Hanafi and per imam in our Masjid, if you're ahead of the imam during the salat then your salat can't be counted ?

I think before Allah, Imam or Ma'mum is not

significant. It's the hearts that fly in Masjid al-Haram. But it's proper for the Imam to be in front as a lead to God.

The only place in the world where the rule doesn't apply is in Masjid Al-Haram in Makkah. If you look at the video carefully, you will see that there are no people in front of the imam on the side he is standing. Think of the people on the other side of Kabaa from the imam, they are in front of the imam no matter where they stand. Even in Madina, the rule you mentioned applie. There is a line marked outside for the imam so people doesn't cross it.
