  • Hey, great find mate.. Check out my tree root sixpence from 1569... Find of a lifetime like yours :) xxxx

  • Hello Neal, I'm thinking you'll want to plan a trip to New Mexico. If you have a moment, you may want to look at 80-year-old Forrest Fenn's YouTube video about an antique bronze box (filled with eagles, double eagles and nuggets) that he's hidden in the mountains north of Santa Fe, NM. Clues for finding the treasure are in his memoir, The Thrill of the Chase. Proceeds from the sale of the book go to help cancer patients who can't afford their treatments.

  • Nice find

  • you dont find gold like that in yorkshire lad!

  • God save King George! May Washington swing from the gallows for his treason along with the rest of the continental congress!

  • Get the DuggedUp Metal Detecting App for Android on the Android Market for Free or download it at DuggedUp(.com) It's Free!

  • ur so lucky !

  • jealous

  • how do we hide gold AWAY from metal detectors? do we hide them in higher places over the ground?do we cover them with lead?

  • Great find. Congrats and good hunting.

  • how much is it worth?

  • @zythepsarian looks like $1500

  • @gasdorf only 1500? jeez, bummer

  • how about a close up of this sucker (by which i mean the coin) with a good video camera?

man it must be a once in a lifetime find.

  • I wanted o replace the existing video with another showing the coin in close up at the end of the video but apparently you have to delete the original and start again

  • @nealblath

use video editing software. add whatever you want onto the end of the present video.

if you don't know how to do that, just make a separate video and upload it.

  • @nealblath

If you already uploaded it you wont have to, If its a new video with another camera you wont need to do anything with this one.

  • @nealblath poor video footage but a nice find there mate..

  • @nealblath Im not english.. You still understand are you idiot lmfao you just do this to argue.

  • foreign prick

  • You can forget bout MD in Ireland. It is illegal. You can only detect on beach an area between high and low tide. You have to surrender any find. Real middle ages - heritage protection.

  • detection28.f o r u m - b o x .com/ tou atacher vou pourer vou inscrire et metre des comentair avec vo foto et vidéo !

  • Fake. He would be screaming for joy if this is real.

  • @DopeyBovineMan That's right! He should show more joy by making such a find. But it could be real. Maybe everyone is happy in his own way by finding such a coin. I myself have already found a roman gold coin (Imp. Geta Aureus) with my detector. I was incredibly pleased, of course, but not that much as if I had just won the lottery.

  • I have recieved 16 replys from my first comment, COULD YOU PEOPLE PLEASE STOP SENDING REPLYS, AS IT SENDS ME AN EMAIL.... thankyou.

  • @IdigHistoryVideo , well done, I hope you find more of them

  • @nealblath Thanks! Same to you. Hey, have you been over to Ireland to hunt before? I was gonna go next year and stay with friends and family and do some detecting there. And in the UK. Know anything about Hunting Ireland?

  • to all you haters you just wish youd found the coins instead of stuck in ya 9to5 dull boring jobs,i metal detecting and it freeing and great fun when you find valuable items hence the locvaql british man finding 3.3millipons pounds of gold, otherwise, pricesless,so yeah they fun in it and reward

  • lol not many people know about gold do they? if they knew alittle bit about rare materials then they would know why they have GOLD rings. its doesnt rust from swett and it rarely tarnishes. All i can say is that was a very good find. keep up the good work.

  • its not a fake u goons, when u dig gold or pull gold out of the ocean, it will be in the same state as it went in minus maybe a little wear.... GREAT FIND

  • staged....

  • its real i have one... it comes out as if new.... if it has hocley or in memory of the good old days its a gambling token but otherwis its REAL

  • how much gold do you find an hour with this? We could probably be millinaires you and I.

  • Gold does not tarnish in any soil etc, it is 22 ct gold also, virtually pure. Last year i bought 5 coins from metal detecting on ebay and one was a 1791 guinea!, i thought someone would spot iti got the lot for £5. Now i will buy a garret 250 detector.

  • FAKE !

  • I have one of those! Except it's from 1790. Do you know how much it's worth?

  • Could people please stop sending my replys I GET IT GOLD NO RUST FFS.

    Just stop replying.

  • OMG u scratched it >.> it!!!!So many stupid noobs out there

  • i got a shilling from norway (where i live, just not to confuse any one) from 1771. it's damn dirty, bulk and rusty or something. i haven't checked if its iron in it. any idea of worth or how to make it more shiney without causing damage? :)

btw, it's written wih i's not with 1's. like in king corwera IIV or something

  • Did you actually turn that in or what? If it was me i would never bother

  • Nice find

  • Very , very nice !!

  • beautiful

how about a clear mugshot of it all cleaned up and shiney ?

  • more..

  • Worth about £350.. Maybe more.

  • hell yes! Congratulations!

  • u r one lucky man my good friend

  • what kind of detector are you using there?

  • you have to feel sorry for whoever dropped that originally....

  • yeah, when ever I found anything good with my metal detector, rings etc... I always would think about who must have dropped it, how long ago.....etc. Thats half the fun

  • @yoyoultimate1

he probably got executed by the king for losing the coin

  • I think mines called a "Spade " guinnea not worth a lot of money

  • I have one of them from 1701 but I don`t know what there called either

  • Nice find!!

  • you do realise gold doesn't oxidize for thousands of years.of course its still bright.stupid coment.

  • Comment removed

  • nice one......well done!

  • TOKEN COIN?

  • whatever!

  • Im not saying its fake, but it was pretty clean considering u just dug it up.

  • I give up!

  • @nealblath Really, these people are so unknowledgeable...claiming it must be fake because it was too clean. What is wrong with people?

Of course it looks clean; IT'S GOLD!!! Gold does not get dirty or tarnish.

  • @Scrap5000 Being a novice "treasure hunter" gold does not tarnish, however it can get dirt stuck in ridges, cliffs (small tappigs in the design), and even a little bit in the design itself.

I do think this one may be real, I just thought you should be told just in case you stumble upon a coin yourself and think its a king Gerorge coin, but in all honesty you just picked up a gold Obama coin. It's outrageous that you can think gold will never, ever get dirty. You are misleading everyone.

  • @onecrazybadger ok, of course it can get dirty, scratched and dirt caught in the scratches, etc; I was exaggerating when I said it does not get dirty.

    It does not tarnish, though.

  • its gold gold does not change color

  • I don't mean it like that, i mean...

someone would have lost it recently if you were able to remove all of the dirt with just your finger...

If it was buried for a while it was pretty clean...

  • to slipperyjim: you would be amazed at how many things that have been under the ground for many years are only w/in 3 inches of the surface

  • @slipperyjim8 Well no shit it's gold ! It's going to be clean that's why gold is worth money you can bend it into thing's and it stays clean "it won't rust'

  • @slipperyjim8 It gold man Gold resist to many tip of corosion...Sorry for my typo

  • @Agremen ok i understand now, i hope i can get lucky enough to get a gold coin :)

  • @slipperyjim8 hehe :)

  • @slipperyjim8 Its gold gold doesn't rust or oxidize...

  • @slipperyjim8 that would be because it is gold silly...lol...gold is shiny straight from the earth in mines...gold does not age like other metals do....that would explain the condition of the coin eh?....laterz. hope i taught you something.

  • @slipperyjim8 That's because it's, um...GOLD!!! Gold doesn't tarnish or rust.

  • @slipperyjim8 it's gold, gold won't corrode in any manner

  • @slipperyjim8 gold doesn't corrode, thats why it looks so clean.

  • @slipperyjim8

Gold often looks pretty clean when you dig it up, it's not like it rusts. In some cases it will be covered in black, but that's about it...

  • @slipperyjim8 LOL gold coins dnot corrode or hold dirt very well. Thats why its not all dirty

  • @slipperyjim8

    gold never tarnishes

  • @slipperyjim8 Gold does not tarnish, that is why it is prized so much.

  • @slipperyjim8 its because its GOLD. Silver and gold both come out of the ground like that. have you never dug either?

  • @slipperyjim8

i don't know if anyone pointed this out yet to you but what he dug up was a gold coin.

gold does not rust or corrode.

  • lucky bastard

  • lol

  • FAKE :-(

  • jealous

  • well found........

  • Lovely mate! Keeps me inspired ;O)

  • Lucky bastard. Great find!

  • amazing a 1787 thats a freaking artifact. you are extremly lucky

  • lol you can tell you dont get out much.1787 an artefact lol we dig saxon gold over here in the UK :)

  • @thanxx I don't know much bout what classes as an artifact in the UK I live in canada so i don't know (don't think im angry, im not, just saying why i wouldn't know)

  • @Vhosis333 no worries mate.Ive just re-read that comment i posted(whilst drunk lol) and thought it sounded a bit nasty myself so i apologise buddy:)

  • That's easily worth over a grand!

  • sadly not my friend, ebay 500 -600 and im getting more values from all over the place but all around 500- 600, i myself was fortunate enough to find one

  • Don't sell, Precious metal prices are going to keep going up. That 5-600 will quadruple in the next few years.

  • Nice find....that´s what I would say it´s a "one in a million" find. ;)

  • so nice,sa weet,my next adventure is buying a whites detector and looking for da gold rrrr

  • whats a hammered coin? im new to this, but willin and wanting to learn,,

  • insted of being machine struck like modern coins it would be put into a sort of mold and hit with a hammer

  • kewl!

  • Congratulations ! It to be of a size with my Victoria 1876 1/2 sov.

  • The law is if its 300 years or over it belongs to the crown and goes in a museum. Thats for gold. The detectorist and the land owner get compensated. Under 300 years old finders keepers. Thats in the U.K.

  • My law says it goes right into my pocket. That's in Qannadda.

  • TO RIGHT MATE IT DOES

  • Nice find my friend ;) I have found centenarios in mexico and I am pleased ;)

  • Very nice well done.

  • very nice ~

  • wow

  • Gratz mate.. Nice one :)

  • nice find

  • A nuice find. However I find the intrusiveness of the government into everyday things such a finding coins, to be a bit too much. A bit of a bother

  • to twogun3083: I am an American.....In your country is there a law that you have to turn over these types of treasure finds to your government?.....and if so,,,,,does anyone actually abide by these laws?

  • Any treasure is supposed to be reported to the nearest detachment of RCMP (royal canadian mounted police) aka donkey wallopers. Frankly nom one does it. No one has ever been presecuted to my knowledge, and when you tell the feds they end up taking what you find. Tis better to detect, dig and shut up.

The feds here dont pay for anything they steal from you.

  • to twogunz3083: I guess you like your feds as much as we do LOL

  • The feds got me one day with a pile of coins from the 1800. They confiscated the coins threatened to take the detector if i didnt stop hanranging them. Want to bet the coins never made it to a lock up . They are thieves nothuing more, under the guise of law enforcement

  • sounds like your haveing fun... shame they stole your coins

    laters

  • The RCMP can suck my dick.

  • mine too

  • not for a single coin find!

  • really, who cares if you find a thousand coins. they're yours. the crown, the queen, whatever. sail to America when you've had enough.

  • don't listen to him declare it to ebay mate finders keepers the flo have enough of those coins to build elderado well done.

  • declare fuck all, flog it on ebay

  • Yeah, of course. If the Queen wants to have the coins that are hidden in English soil she better get her own bloody metal detector and search and dig 30 hours to find some old coins that she could have bought on eBay for a few pounds. (I do not mean the Guinea but you do not find something like that all too often)

  • How much is that coin worth?

  • you're biggest problem is your detector, you'll never find anything with it unless you're very lucky. You need to pay £500 plus (less if second hand) for a decent detector then you'll find stuff. This coin was found on fields where an old Roman road ran across but had been in use for 1800 years.

  • Nice find did you ever find out what it was worth?

  • I have a Viking VK20 detector and I go into some fields but never find anything good exept for iron! What sort of places do you find gold coins mate? I've always wanted to find a gold coin!

  • its not fair i never find eny thing

  • I cant believe how mean, rude and absolutely ignorant people can be!!!Way to go!!!

  • just ignore them mate, what did he want me to do?...........blow a trumpet out of my arse?

  • You need to not buy crack for a day or two climb out of your aluminum can and do some research. Most all metal detectors have water proof coils and tons of gold has been found with them!!I have personally found pounds with my detectors(in creeks)Your ignorance is obvious and just proven everytime you post!!!!

  • It's a George III "Spade" guinea!. You don't sound half as "chuffed" as you claim to be. Was this the ACTUAL moment of discovery or a reconstruction i wonder.Did he keep it or sell?.

  • OK, OK, I should have looked into it before I commented. I have no fucking clue about how these machines work. I didnt get my info from anywhere, it just seems crazy, but apparently its being done so... Im wrong, Im a fool, yada yada yada. Still, your not gonna find any nuggets in a creek with any fucking machine.
