Thank you for posting this!! I lost this album in the flood of 2005 and have had very little luck in finding these songs. This was one of my fav's from way back. Very appreciated!
@RosemarieBredahlMead There's a 3-album import cd still available on Amazon: 'Lady's Not for Sale / Fall Into Spring / It's Only Love' for about $26+shipping. Hope this helps :)
@christymichael Those two songs are from another album, Fall Into Spring. If I can get a hold of it, I'll post them and send them to you :) I think the other song is 'That's What Friends Are For'. There is a nice version here on YT by B.J. Thomas.
I have loved YOU....Rita..... since the 70's....Rita, you've made a big impression on my life....I connect with you...you have a great voice and a true spirit. I think that all of your music is great. I just love all of your songs. Sincerely, from Janet, Toronto, Canada. xoxoxo
There was actually a video of them together and they sang My Crew together...I was hooked on them from then on! Wish I could find that video...like 71 or 72 saw it on tv maybe the late night concerts they used to have on weekends.
I have the Vinyl album The Lady Is Not For Sale, Full Moon and I believe one or two more albums. I did burn them to CDs, but I don't want to get huge fines...so how do we go about making them available?
@cookiem8209 The only cd is a 2010 (import) triple album release (available on Amazon and other sites): 'Lady's Not for Sale / Fall Into Spring / It's Only Love'
this is MUSIC. Rita has a voice and style that stays in your mind once you hear her songs. I doubt we will remember most of the artists of today after 30+ years, I found her Walela CD by linking on YouTube and Walela is beautiful native American music. She's a beautiful lady and her music stands in time.
EXCELLENT!! I'd totally forgotten about her over the years, as someone else said here, this is one of her best!! It does put me in a rather melancholy mood but hey it's a tune from my youth. Thanks for the posting :)
I wish 'My Crew' didn't apply so much, especially now. But, things in life happen for whatever reason, life continues, and "Paths that cross will cross again, my friends".
It is truly a pity, a shame, that music like this is not being played today. With the likes of Alicia Keys, Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce Knowles, and the ever popular Lady Gaga polluting the airwaves it is like a breath of fresh air to hear a singer who actually was able to sing ... and this was her very best.
@hoytchristmas Sadly, it's all about who looks the most outrageous these days, and not talent. I would not put Alicia Keys into this group, however...I think she is acceptable. There is SOME talent out there, it's just harder to find.
This great song of the first Rita Coolidge album in 1972, since then I was really hooked with her fantastic voice!!!! One my most favoruite lady singers ever!!
Thanks for posting this great song by Rita Coolidge. I have been a Rita Coolidge fan since this albulm first came out when my older brother bought it and I've been hooked ever since. Nice to see some of Rita's older songs posted. 5*
@bze2nlz4 I continue to be mystified. This is the most beautiful of all of Rita Coolidge's tunes, and it STILL isn't available on CD! So beautiful and dreamy.
I also would like to thank you Very very much for posting this beautiful song. I love most of Rita's songs as well as Kris Kristofferson and also their songs together.... They're still in the back of my mind ever since I first listen to them when I was only 10 yrs. young :) And now these days I still hear them every now and then somewhere between my ears but it's very hard to get any CD of their older albums, so I'm very Happy to may Enjoy them here again on YouTube :)
Ditto!! thanks so much! Many memories attached to this album, I played it till the groves had groves when I was a teenager. My Mom still has the album but it is sooooo worn out! Some of her very best music here and Fall Into Spring Album.
This is one of a dozen or so songs that are my soundtrack for memories of a world that seems to have pretty much disappeared. We were so hopeful then. I am looking at my vinyl album right now. Marc Benno, guitar; Mike Utley, keyboards; Carl Radle, bass; Jim Keltner, drums; Al Perkins Jr, rhythm guitar; Booker T. Jones, flute; Jerry McGee acoustic guitar; Priscilla Jones and Donna Weiss, backing vocals. It doesn't get much better than this. Thanks for posting it.
@jonisaacson Thanks for your comment! I did not typically listen to Rita's music, but there were a couple of her songs from the 70's that just 'stuck' in my memory! So beautiful :)

"My Crew" is one of my favorite RC songs. It's a pity the CD was never released in the US. Someone said the CD was released only in Japan. Go figure.

I can remember myself back in 1971, when I was a kid sitting in my backyard listening to this on my transistor and letting my mind just drift away.
sadly beautiful.
