yes the whole reason why i got apple tv, and i hate being tied to itunes and having to do everything through it, music is fine, but for videos, i have well over 1.3 tb of movies and tv shows, so there was no way i was going to be converting and dumping into itunes, now this way is so much easier

BTW with all those neat hacking stuff, can I stream content directly from an usb HDD hooked up to my Time Capsule ? I would find it much more convenient for me to do so, rather than having to let my Macbook in the house just to watch a movie.

Do you have any suggestions for why Greenpois0n isn't showing up in my apple tv 2 after I successfully jailbreak it with the rc6 version?

I waited for a couple of minutes after it was complete, then unplugged the usb cable and took the apple tv 2 into my lounge room, plugged it into the tv but nothing's there when it loads up :(

@BankC01 Solved my own problem, I had to go back to the older firmware then reboot computer and jailbreak has worked fine now.

Same here, after installing XBMC, the tab did not come up. The XBMC install did not work. Were you able to resolve this?

@sergiusz1000 It is possible to watch live tv through some modifications that are available for XBMC. As for movies for free you would have to download the movies to a pc or mac and then point back to that from xbmc
