Though you CAN use the save state function of the emulator, that can be considered a "cheat".

The last time I tried pcsx2 with a dual core cpu I had to OC it to 3.2 Ghz to get fair results.

Your graphics card is strong enough, you'll be able to use 2x or 3x res, but you will need to use a lot of speedhacks because of your cpu so It will work at high res but your framerate will be low... Give it a try, who knows.

@beriberiberi1 The gt 430 isnt a high end card... a 480 is. It's the second number that informs about the performance of the card. For example 280 is much stronger than 430. My new 460 performs worse than the 280 used to too : \

And 2.67 ghz is too low, number of cores doesnt help much. You need to get over 3 ghz.

@JawzPause Not really. I have both and can view it on the same monitor. The textures are a little bit sharper in the ps3 version. I also noticed that the FOV (field of view) is larger in the ps3 version. So it's like more "zoomed out".

Otherwise it's completely the same.

Nah. I wouldn't get any good from 64 bit. I've got 3gb ram plus 1gb videoram. It just fits into the 32 bit memory pool. Besides, most apps are 32 bit wich cannot use 64 bit OS advantages anyway. In fact they run better in 32 bit environment.

It mostly depends on your luck for how much your particual cpu can bare.

But yes, i had to do much.Firstly, i7 920 was a conscious choice, for it's latest revision at the time was the one that overclovked best (yes, beating all the more expensive i7's).

Then, I LAPPED the cpu. Then bought the one heatsink that was said to perform best in the world (thermalright ifx-14) plus two 140cm fans for it, and the side of my case is removed, so it's running open. And its still pretty quiet

I cannot really decide wich one's better through these lossy 720p youtube videos, but I will get the ps3 edition at first chance. I'm really curious wich one will look better. Things that I'll particulary examine are: framerates, texture resolution, colour vibrance, resolution... MUSIC QUALITY.... Damn the ps2 version's music is awful of quality. I downloaded the orignal soundtrack and well... the difference is huge.
