  • What would it be like to run out of fuel going 120?

  • @coolio0590

Can't tell if trolling or really that stupid

  • @coolio0590

That's the dumbest comment I've ever seen on YouTube.

  • I want to get an A3 with the DSG... is it easy to tune?

  • @8828RR: it's all about money only.

  • This has 382hp? It rev's and sounds good, but with 382hp I would think it would accelerate quicker. My '07 A4 with 6sp manual (only 200hp) acceleration is not as quick as your's (but not that much behind) and I have 182hp less. I rode in an S3 ('08) with 265hp (stock) and it's 0-180kmh (110mph) was a bit quicker than yours from what I see.

  • Is this car AWD or FWD?

  • Maybe some people would prefer to not have an STi. Or a camaro. Or a corvette. There's just something about just going to a dealership and flashing your credit score around just to get a "cool" sports car. I mean, why do some people get pieces of metal pierced through their faces? To be different. Besides, STi look so cheap inside they make me sick. Typical Japanese car. I'd rather have an Audi.

  • Litle beast camed from neutral zone:))))

  • why do the revs go down so fast when he shifts?

  • @TotalBizcut lightweight flywheel

  • @TotalBizcut It's DSG box, it shifts kwiker than any human could..

  • EA113 block, not EA888, I suppose (guessing on having a red FIS, not white). Impressive pulling power. How much torque is the DSG withstanding? Around 460 Nm, maybe? Are you running a DSG remap also?

  • is it wrong if dsg gearbox give me an erection?

  • Bobrec3gti well said. A manual makes you a proper driver. Don't fancy flicking paddles all day myself.

  • nice video, is this your personal DD? I sat here and watched the video next to a pull of my B5 S4 from 45ish-115 and have to say its pretty close, but i have no traction problems between 40-60

  • ignorant people who don't actually know what the difference between DSG, s-tronic and tiptronic are should keep their mouths shut and go read about it. the differences are pretty stark and obvious...

  • quattro ?

  • Needs the HPA DSG tune ;)

  • For all you muppets posting the gearbox is rubbish let me here you say it about the Nissan GTR same gearbox dual clutch. Also now in the Ferrari 458 that's the two cars of the moment the gearbox is the sh** Brilliant All I can says drive one

  • @3261carl

Whenever someone gives me shit about owning a DSG and "there is no clutch its not an enthusiasts car" I just tell them I will let all the guys in F1 know they can't drive and aren't car guys.........

I have owned manual transmissions for years in everything. These gearboxes are the new way, I would associate them from the jump from carbs to fuel injection. Better technology improves the breed.

  • @vwman70 i agree that people are uninformed when they say DSG is not for enthusiasts but i am still one who prefers a "proper" gear box. There is much more involvment with the driver having a manual gearbox. Yeah, its not the fastest way to get around, but the DSG doesnt allow you to do the clutchwork (which to me is one of the most fun aspects of driving my GTI)

  • hey everybody...in this car it's called S-TRONIC not DSG, DSG IS FOR VW hahaha =P

tumbs up if you agree :)

  • @gtiw7 audi a3 'DSG'.....

  • @gtiw7 audi a3 'DSG'... s3 is the s-tronic

  • @DaveEbo123 s-tronic and DSG are same, Audi called it 'till 2005 DSG, now its s-tronic. Only new name

  • @DaveEbo123 you can tell you dont know about audi mate

  • @yuan2211 lol no i wasn't with the new ones! i own a 54 plate a3 but wasn't aware they changed to s-tronic! my bad..

  • @gtiw7 VW owns Audi... DSG is VW's,Audi's,Porsche's, Bugatti's(I believe, not sure), Skoda's, and Bentley's dual clutch automated manual transmission

  • @Flamenginho bugattis has a dsg but theres was completely redisigned and is un associated with any of the dsg tranny found in the

    VW group

  • @ecuo4lyf you are correct about that but the GTI was the first car to have any sort of DSG or PDK out of any the porsches, Audis, Bugattis and of course VWs

  • @bobrec3GTI yeah i knew that but he said the bugatti shared the same dsg i just kinda had to poke fun as to how if u put the dsg tranny froma gti in a bugatti i wouldnt get past 1st gear before it caught fire and vanished into thin air haha

  • @Flamenginho

Bugatti, Lamborghini, Bentley, Porsche, Audi, VW, Seat, Skoda. all sister companies.

  • @RyIzzle Thought they were all owned By VW, hence them being referred to under the blanket name of "Volkswagen Auto Group". idk lol, prolly spouting bullshit hah

  • @bharvey2010

You are correct, just as Hummer, Chevy, GMC, Pontiac, Cadillac, Saturn are/were part of "General Motors"

  • dsg has no torque converter making it not an autosuckmaticslushybox

  • DSG switches the gears in 0.4 sec. :)

  • Comment removed

  • dsg is better than manual because you keep your foot to the floor so you alawys have boost.not to mention it shifts faster than manual

  • isf nothin the dsg is just as fast... hahahaha

  • if this is similar to an automatic like people are arguing, it has got be the fastest non-manual shift i have ever seen in a production car.

  • DSG, Automatic, WHATEVER! It shifts fast as heck, what is there to complain about?

  • how did you get 382whp on stage 3 ?

  • DSG= DIRECT SHIFT GEARBOX.....IT'S AUTOMATIC, BUT THERE IS A MANUAL MODE I BELIEVE

  • @AHNAYAL8R take a peek behind the steering wheel..

  • @oskaju Yea but take another look, is he even Touching the paddles???? Yeaaaa so it's Automatic with a Manual Mode :P

  • @AHNAYAL8R Obviously he's in Automatic mode

  • Comment removed

  • @EthanAlexLane Google it..

  • @sunnetalboy youd be surprised how much they act like a manual

  • no problems with the dsg-gearbox? i read somewhere that those gearbox's on the a3 2.0tfsi's only withstand up to 350nm, and this setup must have alot more than that...

  • When he hits the kickdown, there is a long time before the accelreation begins... We can see that the gearbox hesitates no ? Or do you have a problem with your clutch?thanks

  • bottom line a sitck cannot shift nearly as fast as dsg.no upgrading short throw shifters, clutches, shifting knobs :)

  • @crzygutrsnobrdr bottom line is dsg is extremely unreliable in the audi

  • @poop4256 hmm..i havent heard anything about it.but yet again i dont own a dsg.or an a3.theres a guy with a stage 4 gti that does 180 in like elss than 20sec.ill talk to him.

  • very very nice!

  • Nice work !!! APR stage III is a monster for any other car on the road. 4,8 s 0-100 km/h. max speed 290+. Driving is pleusure.

  • You must be realy used to seeing the fuel gauge in that position with a car tuned like that.... Very nice, I hope to get an A3 soon maybe the 2.0d.

  • With such a fantastic DSG, why not using paddle shift ???? They are not there just for decoration !!!

  • @osaino because once it redlines the dsg automatically shifts up, thats why i opted for manual

  • @bobrec3GTI DSG is better than manual in every aspect. Fuel economy, comfort and shifting speed as well. so why should you pick manual, when youve got the money to buy DSG?

  • @meedic because it takes away the purity of driving. i hate how in the dsg if it hits the rev limiter it shifts for you. i would rather be able to select my gear no matter how high im revving.. DSG is an engineering marvel but it is for people who are lazy (women)

  • @bobrec3GTI you can select the gear yourself with the shifting paddles.. i know it is a different feeling driving with an automatic transmission, but as i already said, dsg is faster than manual.. =)

  • @meedic because with a manual you can control throttle response and shift time better.

  • this car is sick.

    end of story

  • That was a fascinating story, kenny.

  • thank you.

    i write novels.

  • Well mine only shifts this fast if I'm on sport, which I hardly ever use. When I'm on drive, I only get instant shift during the 1-2 transition only, and the rest are characterized by this annoying pause or, mostly, partial engagement. I suppose the software's been configured like that to minimise strain on the drivetrain, but this can't be good for the clutches. Don't really know why.

  • shit is damn quick after 100... whew

  • Ive been modding cars for the last 22 years and have seen as many modded engines as I have seen burnt clutches twisted driveshafts and broken Cv joints...there is a lot more to anoff the showroom floor high performance car than a beefy engine and fat tires.. the STI for example has beefed up drivetrain to handle the extra power that the WRX does not have other wise why would you spend all t hat extra money when you could put half into your engine and have the same car? think about it

  • so your point is get S4 or RS4 or TTRS

    or so ?

  • @mrunowho

i road race a boosted civic, very well said sir, alot more goes into be 'reliable' then just a beefy engine and fat tires!

  • @mrunowho it's called enthusiasts.. you know.. the same people who enjoy subbies.

  • @DjeLList yeah, its called people with too less money to get the real thing. so they get smaller cars, and when they have money again they buy tuning parts to get closer to the real sportscars

  • @mrunowho Usually, with the way people tune this particular engine, twisted drive shafts aren't a problem. You spoke of the STI. The STI is tuned to have a HP spike mid way through the rpm range. The TFSI engine usually gets tuned to provide a linear HP delivery. You don't make as high of a HP number you would with a real aggressive tune, but it pulls very evenly through the whole gear starting low in the rev range. Not to mention that the DSG handles that added boost nicely.

  • DSG is one of the best gearboxes on the market but it can break the cluches have a hard time with anything over the stage 2.. you will notice he never starts from a dead stop and the reason is that if you give the DSG a full Stage 3 throttle from dead stop (besides just spinning one tire all day cause really who drives with traction control on anyway)you will eventually burn out one of those little clutches in a very short amount of time..

  • Oh guys LOL

  • does this engine eat DSG gearboxs for lunch or can they withstand this amount of torque?

  • Very valid point... I honestly didn't even know it weighed that much. I was thinking in terms of the more typical 'sports' car like the M3... I believe that one weighed in at 3700lb or so. ... hmmm... I was under the impression that the chassis was shared by the Golf, Jetta, GTI and A3... might be learning a lot more on here than I ever expected.

  • Why is everyone here arguing about stupid crap... Mine is only stage 1 with about 260Whp and 270lb/ft of torque and I can easily get wheel spin at 60+km/hr. Traction control comes on ONLY when the front wheels start loosing traction, be it too much power or bad pavement, at 382hp I would imagine it's not too hard to spin the wheels at 55Mph. This is a very light car after all.

Consider this too... this is not a race car... it's a f-ing hatchback and for what it is, it's ridiculously fast.

  • hahaha oh my god that thing is fast. i love it

  • fuck fuck ita a very fast acceleration

  • No it isn't. Look at the clock: at 4 seconds into the video, it increments from 7:07 to 7:08 and at 1:04 into the video, it hits 7:09.

  • it´s DSG! not automatic!!

  • @TheDaniDG DSG is automatic whit the possibility to switch gear manualy. It still is an automatic and there is no clutch pedal. So yes it is automatic ;)

  • @TheDaniDG dsg is automatic, friend... put it on D or S and let it go :D

  • @TheDaniDG DSG (dual clutch) in Audis usually come with S-tronic which is automatic (with optional manual shifting)

  • @TheDaniDG S-tronic ;)

  • @TheDaniDG

Sorry boss, DSG is automatic.... its the fastest shifting gearbox engineered. just cuz it has paddle shifters for tiptronic doesnt make it something different.

  • @rankinmattA no it's not. electronically controlled dual clutch, multiple-shaft manual gearbox, in a transaxle design - without a conventional clutch pedal, and with full automatic, or semi-manual control. In simple terms, it is two separate manual gearboxes (and clutches), contained within one housing, and working as one unit.

  • @turbocontour27 The clutches are actually hydraulically controlled and electronically actuated. That is to say, that hydraulics actually open and close the clutch packs while the electronics are used to tell the hydraulic systems when and how to function.

  • @TheDaniDG Its auto clutch, so its automatic. Sequential trannys in racecars have a clutch pedal but this shit doesnt

  • @TheDaniDG its auto dont you see the paddles

  • @miguel062593 you dont get it. automatic is a single clutch gearbox thats used on shitty cars. DSG is used on the bugatti veyron and the GTI, R32... What it is, is a manual gearbox controlled by a computer which includes 2 clutches, clutch 1: gears 1,3,5 clutch 2: 2,4,6. last time i checked it makes the car shift in 2 10ths of a second, its also used by formula 1 cars.

  • @miguel062593

it is an automatic DSG, with 2 cluthches like in the f1. probably the fastest gearbox of the world!

  • @Dnaracer01 theres prnds on the screen which he is on s for sport i have an audi a3 sline so i know

  • @miguel062593

and what do theat mean? I has driven an S3 already, sport mode, okay. but it is still an automatic car and you can use the paddels if you want.

  • @Dnaracer01 no they are saying its a standard car

  • ti piacerebbbe eh?!

  • Shut up you suck. DSG the best

  • quadro????????????

  • Nope... FWD. Quattro was not available on the 2.0T in North America till the 2009 model year.

  • OMG...I`can`t imagine what would happen if the traction control was off :s

  • It's in mph retards, not kph.

  • they are talking for the moment at 60 mph --> 100 km/h

    YOU R RETARDED!!

  • DSG is very very fast, faster tnan manual, that's shure

  • that gearbox is awesome! I haven't ever saw something shift that quick.

  • was this just with the chip or did you have anything else done to it?

  • There is a full bolt on kit Igot a friend with its APR Stage III running on a 388hp Jetta/Bora its an expensive thing but turns the car into a little Beast :-)

  • Chip from ~220 to 380 hp :P? I don't think so.

    Love the wheelspin at 100kph

  • its not just a chip its a full on stage 3 turbo kit

  • I know it is :P I was replying to the dude who said it was just a chip. I love this car - meaty noise, meaty mid range and well it's an Audi with freaking 400bhp :P

  • stage 1 chip is 252 crank, stage 3 is 382 crank. Stage 3 uses a GT2871R, stage 1 is stock turbo

  • I was replying to gtboy2k8 :P

  • its legit. check out goapr . com

  • youre retarded theres no wheel spin at 100kph he let off the gas

  • I suggest you rewatch the video. You can see the traction control light blinking at 100kph...

    Retard ;)

  • he has traction at 60mph and 100kph is like 62mph so go figure.

  • The traction control light is flashing at 55mph.

  • Y R RIGHT!

  • dombou70 is right you are the retarded...watch again,,,

  • you are retarded because he gains traction before 60mph so suck a dick and no one was talking to you.

  • at 55 mph!!!!

fuck you you r just wrong!!

  • AWD.. look at the speedo... the MPH is above the 0 ..

  • 2.0 FSI ON BALCO--

  • this gearbox is brilliant!!!

  • anyone know the 0 - 100km/h for this car?

  • 100 mph = 160km/h mate ;)

  • This is 382bhp? how on earth would you put that through a fwd? unless this is a quattro model? It does look quick, but how does the cars gearbox take such a thrashing, and i assume this car has a notably larger turbo... it does look to only really haul ass above 4500rpm.

  • new diff buddy

  • MY Mk 5 GTI(stock) has loss until I hit 3rd gear. You can actually hear the tires giving until then. So it explains why he is always accelerating from a roll. Also you can notice that it is a bit squirrely until he gets into 3rd gear...

  • it's awd i think

  • normally fwd - optional quattro awd.

  • i think it's FWD...

  • AWD only available on the 3.2 VR6 in 2007. This car is FWD.

  • what about the 1.8T quatrro? i've seen 10-15 cars like that in greece

  • are you a retard?

  • OK so can anyone write what is:

    1. DSG

    2. S-tronic

    3. Multi-tronic

    4. Tip-tronic

    and

    5. R-tronic

  • DSG: direct shift gear(doubble clutch gearbox)

    S-tronic: same as DSG

Multitronic: Its a CVT transmittion. Transmittion that keeps the car at top arpm constantly while acelerating

Tip-tronic: an automatic gear that u can operate manually

  • OK so:

    DSG = S tronic = 2 clutches + manual?

    Tip tronic = 1 clutch + manual?

Multitronic = transmits at top rpm but what about manual?

    R tronic = bomb ;-)

  • DSG is an automatic with double clutch

Tiptronic: fully automatic but u decide when the car change gears

Multitronic: Its a CVT: contious variable transmition.

R-tronic: Manual gearbox operated electronicaly :D

  • R-tronic: A manual gearbox thats operated electronically. like ferraris F1 gearboxes and lambos E- gear.

Insted of having a clutch pedal, just pull the righ handle and the car automattically engages the clutch, swap gearsand reengages the clutsh, and now ur in second gear. and so it goes on

  • That shit is fucking fast.. Props!

  • wow that is a fast shift

  • I tought DSG could not take more than 350NM, and I guess this tuned GTI has more...

  • Tuned GTI?!?!? wtf... r u blind?! do you not see the four rings on the steering wheel?!?!

  • oh well the thing is that the A3 has same 2.0T just like the GTI so I just made a mistake because you know, VW is Audi group :)

And so, the 100% same DSG gearbox and that is the point :) the fact that I said GTI doesn't really matters, I am talking about the gear box, boy :) so, can you answer my question instead of showing your very high level knowledge about cars ? How did they manage to power up a car with a gearbox that cannot take more than 350 NM?

  • to go further on that, the gti and a3 have the same chassis, breaks, tranny, and everything else except of course body and interior.

  • dumb ass!!

  • its a dsg transmission,a paddle shift, dual electric clutches, theyre amazing, too bad most of the other exotic sports cars paddle trannys dont even function as good as these!

  • Doesn't only VW have DSG and Audi S-tronic?

  • Audi has DSG gearbox too.

  • It's same

  • I don't know. I believe DSG has 2 clutches and is faster and newer technology and S-tronic has only 1 and is (although fast) slower than DSG.

  • sounds like a vacuum cleaner but goes like stink :)

  • woooooooooooooooooooooow......woooooooooooooooooooooow....that shifts like a good ass driver....its puttin it in there every time....sweeeeeet

  • wish we could see a 0-120 mph+ time

  • btw.. how much hp this animal got? ty

  • I JUST LOVE THAT ON YOUTUBE!! CRAZY SMARTASS POEPLES :D(ayaz1687vs wachma0)HAHA (gal)

  • rpm means a lot when you take it into context with the amount of horse power and torque available. think about it... the faster the engine is working the more power it's generating.

what do you mean the rs4's did not get 420hp on rollingroad? why don't you look at the rs4's weight/power and quarter mile trap speeds to better determine whether the power is truly there or not. Dynos are not always the objective truth.

  • Are you just pretending to know about cars?

Just because an engine is working faster does not mean that it is making more power.

Many engines reach a peak performance at a certain RPM and then after that will see the power drop off. Power curves do not just trend continuously upwards as the RPM increases, they increase and then start to fall.

  • Hey man if you see something I said wrong I'm truly more than happy to be corrected, don't want to spread wrong information. I never, however, said that just because an engine is working faster that it's making more power for all engines, it depends on a lot of variables, like torque, don't you think? Have you heard of the equation Power = (Torque * RPM) / 5250? Notice how power/torque/rpm are related. I was also specifically talking about the m3/rs4.

  • I know the equation, and I understand how it works. But you specifically said, and I can quote your post below...

"the faster the engine is working the more power it's generating."

There are alot of things that cause power to drop of like that. You've got the amount of air coming into the engine via the intake tract/head, you've got the design/ie bore/stroke of the cylinders, compression, fuel.

All of these things play a role here. They come at a cost, an F1 engine won't last 100K miles.

  • I'm not 100% sure, but can you tell me what the limiting factors are that cause engine power to drop off like that? Is it because engine internals not strong enough? An F1 car has a shit load of horse power but about 200lbft torque... what would happen if the engine couldn't rev to 15k? It wouldn't be all that fast..

  • They compromise, knowing that the vehicle really just needs high HP because of the high speeds, they adjust timing, intake runners, etc, to maximize power at high RPM's, at the extreme. Those engines get torn down after every race, the amount of stress a valve spring has to withstand at that high of an RPM is insane. Also, to note, how streetable do you think an F1 car is? Totally useless in day to day application.

  • I know F1 engines can't be used as daily drivers lol... but the point still stands clear about rpm's. In the context of everything that's been said in this thread it should be clear I was talking about cars actually made to make good use of higher rpm's, such as the m3/rs4. I apologize for lack of clarity. With proper engine design, an engine WILL produce more power at higher speeds. This was not a discussion about of some random 4 banger being revved to 10grand in hopes of making more power.

  • not to mention in the very reply you quoted me in i specifically said rpm is important when taken in context to horsepower and torque available, and that certainly implied proper engine design. thanks for the info you gave about the limiting factors.

  • i never said the rs4 is faster. i was replying to another person's comment who referred to the redline of the a3 being low, and that the m3 can redline to 8 grand with a v8.. and v6's and 4's should rev higher than that (that was his thinking.

and you're an idiot if you think 8250 is whatever. the rs4 is certainly not worthless without a turbo. and in reality the rs4 does have "his 420hp" but awd drive train loss is larger so the power to the wheels may not be as much.
