  • I feel ridiculus for not knowing Mark Ronson covered this song.... but in my defense, I wasn't even born when The Smith's were around =/

  • these guys just cant be this good.

  • Mark Ronson KILLED this song! Stop Me Mark Ronson is my all time favourite no match on this cover in my PERSONAL opinion!

  • Just the absolute BEST BEST BEST BEST BEST Time of my life, London 1984 /1988 the soundtrack to my life back then, the friends i made listening to The Smiths are still and will always be, friends for life....................

  • Some of the greatest music of the times, so under appreciated, so misunderstood at the time by mainstream records companies, thats why the Smiths are probably one of those bands that best described what it was to grow up in those times. So fortunate to be able to be able to see them in the US when they first came over.

  • я считаю, что у тампона с аппликатором не должно быть собственной рекламы 8(

  • i only knew the cover

  • hmmm.. i like how mark ronson re did it better... this one kinda sucks.. im not going to dislike it though

  • @cdavillier yea, Daniel Merriweather sounds great on this song.

  • @cdavillier

    mark.... who???

  • ♥_____♥

  • I'm 15 and I just discovered this band! Wish I listened to this music before, but since I was raised during this era I've been exposed to such bad music! Thank god for the internet!

  • @hannahthecarter

hahaha better late than never. I'm also 15 but I was raised listening to Morrissey and other great bands :D

  • I did not lie to her, i did not its bullshit, i didnt. I did not. Anyone who gets that i love you. Only slightly less than i used to

  • @metallica1123456 hahaha what a story, mark!

  • @krofodil ^ this person xDD

  • @metallica1123456 Anyway, how is your sex life?

  • @HerrBrewer I cannot tell you, it's confidential.

YOU ARE TEARING ME APART, HERR BREWER!!!!

  • 19 years old, listening in 2011, loving it.

  • @drinky1992 why would you write your age?

  • Um okay, I think I love the smiths!!

  • I kinda dislike this song.. I don't like the beat. ;/

  • Discovered this after hearing the Mark Ronson/Daniel Merriweather cover - which I adore btw. But I always do my homework; how interesting to hear two completely different versions of the same great song! The lyrics still have me trippin. :)

  • dont stop me oh o ho dont stop me dont stop if i if i heard this once more

nothing has changed i still love this song love this song but only slightly more then i used to

  • 3 people lied

  • It's inevitable to think of Coldplay's cover.

  • 2 people said "I'd Lied"

  • Who said I'd lied because I never...

  • I've heard this one loads of times Morrissey, but it's too good for me to stop you.

  • the world is still not ready for this, and probably wont be,i first heard smiths in 1985,some bands you tire of,this one i never did,at 40 with 3000 records, morrisey is in top 5,up there with life/mind altering music is crass,dk,cult,and....pil

  • Hey I heard this one on Rockband 3! Thanks for sharing it. :)

  • The Smiths are great. All their songs are great. Why? Because nobody--I mean nobody--sounded like The Smiths when they hit the scene. Nobody sang like Steven Morrissey. Nobody played guitar like Johnny Marr. Their influence on music is still being felt today (12/26/2010). They are quite simply the most original band that has ever walked this Earth.

  • One person is complete fail personified.

Thankfully, 144 of us have brains and correctly-functioning ears.

  • What a brilliant song

  • So which is it? Did he

    a) fall off his bike

    b) got beat up

    c) fall about pissed

  • Gosh I absolutely love this song!!

  • oh my

  • love it

  • Funny how meaningfull I find all of their songs. Even once I thought I had changed so much and stoped listening.

"Will Nature make a man of me yet.."

In Fort Benning I had a bad accident at Ariborne school "The pain was enough to make a shy, bald, buddhist reflect and plan a mass murder"

  • I was detained, Iwas restrained And broke my spleen and broke my knee and then he really lays into me. Friday night in out-patients. WHo said I'd lied to her? Who said I lied because I never I never"

I can even interpret it as the MedEvac flight out. And my first marriage going to shit while in Iraq...

Just like Shakespear. The specifics might change but the basic story is a pretty solid pattern.

How can anyone listen to garbage like Hip hop or pop??!?!?!

  • @bigtimepimpin666 "How can anyone listen to garbage like Hip hop or pop??!?!?!"

    Don't be a bigot.

  • i love the smiths, :), its a shame they split up :(, but they are amazing, morrisey and jhonny marr, the best people in the band :)

  • @zorggy666 Don't leave out andy rourke or mike joyce, not cool.

  • 1,000,000's time i lisend to this. its awesome!!!!

morrisey has such an different voice :)

  • simply fantastic ..

  • that's what i sang to my ex...she thought it was a little harsh :D...but its that truth the truth hurts

  • nothing is changed!

  • Nothing is changed, I still love The Smiths!

  • I love the guitar

  • @TheDementedbacon

The guitar is great. To get this powerful sound, Marr was dropping knifes with a metal handle on the guitar.

  • Simply great

    great music...great lyrics

  • LOL I love how many thumbs down I got there for saying how much I like the other version :P I wasn't trying to bait people, but maybe I should next time- seeing as people are obviously incapable of lifting thier sorry fingers and typing a reponse, save just one person ;)

  • there is no original video for this one

  • Comment removed

  • where is the original video??

  • I cant listen to this song without having to hold back tears, I dont know whether they are tears of joy or what but this song moves me.

  • Simply amazing. I would never stop Moz. Never.

I love him. more than ever.

  • Love it, great stuff. The Smiths are legends.

  • 1987... those were the days!!!! Thanks for the memories

  • Wooooonderfuuuuuul.

  • ...And when I fell on the floor I drank moooore!!! :)

  • I still love you oh I still love you, only slightly only slightly less than I used to...

    Brilliant song,thanks for uploading!

  • If I were to write in a poem "I still love you, slightly, only slightly less than I used to", it would most probably sound like shite. Morrissey gets away with it - he knows exactly how to spin the banal and the sublime together with a strong dose of humour and bathos - that's why I love him. To bits.

  • is that slightly less than you used to?

  • ...is.. ...slightly less than I used to....

  • The lyrics are amazing...
