  • Hi HarriL, I just got my Futureretro Revolution last week. I can't stop fiddling with it. I do not know how real TB 303 sounds like, aside from youtube videos, but I think that Revo is awesome in many ways. I just can not get enough of that acid-type sound. Again, great refreshing upload and keep up good work. Your music inspires blokes like me, cheers mate :)

  • @DeRex9 heh, thank you very much man :D

Revo has it's own sound definitely. It's tb ish mainly because of the sequencer but the sound lacks certain elements. To get close to it there are some hints in the manual :)

    That acid sound <3

  • campfire jam, cool mate.

  • @DeRex9 hehe, it was fun :D

  • ..The most creative setting I've seen yet. Great tunes!

  • @FeelGood30 Thanks man! :)

  • My new fav HarriL track! <3

  • @thehside Ow, thanks! :))

  • Brilliant...your stuff always inspires me to go back to the electribes. Out of interest...how much of this track is EMX? I swapped my EMX for a Monomachine, hated it and went back to the EMX! Was a bit disapointed with Korg when they released the Monotribe though :(

  • @buchanan82 Heey, thanks for your comment!

    Nice to know that :D

This track is like 90% emx. The acid is from the revo, some drums from the 606 and the solo is K-station.

I was thinking of adding one of the elektron machines into the setup at some point. :)

And i agree with you 100% about the monotribe.

  • @HarriL Yeah, I just didn't like the sound of the Monomachine...it's saw wave was more digital sounding than the EMX. I guess it's more geared towards "glitchy" sounds. I kinda expected a better sounding EMX with the same accesibility...not the case. Perhaps the Machinedrum would sound good in your setup, but it uses the same sound engine - my main gripe.

Look into an iPad + Korg iMS-20...100% of the jamability of the EMX (you have "Kaoss Pads" but with a sound engine based on the real MS-20.

  • @buchanan82 Oh, i get you man. It's not for everyone that's for sure. I have not played with one myself but I have a strong feeling that I would like something like the machinedrum :)

I'm not that much into the whole iPad electribes thing, if I had an iPad i would most likely have the iMS-20 and iElectribe, but since I don't have it and I'm not planning on buying one I'll save up on something like the octatrack or an modular system ;)

  • @HarriL Cool man...keep it up, look forward to the next track.

  • @buchanan82 thank you! I'll try to create something soon. I have a strong desire to make something outdoors now that the summer is here :)

  • @HarriL Yeah the Monomachine sound engine was pretty poor in my opinion...the saw wave was more digital sounding than the EMX! Perhaps a Machinedrum would sound good in your setup, but it uses the same sound engine.

Look into an iPad + iMS-20...it really is the next generation of Electribe. A+ emulation of the MS-20 sound engine, with the flexibility of virtual Kaoss pads....kinda like the ARP on the EMX!!!

Makes a good partner to the EMX as well.

  • I am really enjoying this, makes me wish I never got rid of my 606

  • Sympa ;)

  • Hey HarriL.. happy summer. Don't get sand in your gear, and don't catch it on fire! ;)

  • @syzygywell thanks, you too!

I'll try my best to not get sand in them. I'll be careful with fire too :D

I'm hoping to do a lot of live stuff outdoors this summer!

  • Always digging your stuff man. Been downloading it for a while now!

  • Great work . Really chilled and drifty - perfect summer music for me. Thanks. Will you be posting MP3's?

  • @profpep Thanks!! Sure man, I'm uploading it right now!

Check the description after I update it :)

  • just the kind of tunes i like,i had a little jam today on my gear,i should do it more,i had alot of fun, looks like you were having fun too.nice tune again my man.that 303 sounding machine is very nice indeed.machine dials forever.not mouse clicks.

  • @irritantable Hey! Definitely, it's loads of fun :)

I appreciate that man, the 303 sounding machine is the one with blue leds on it. It's called Futureretro Revolution! Long live hardware :)

  • How do you get that 303 sound?

  • @LyleUppingham The FutureRetro Revolution gets that beautiful 303 sound.

Two tracks in two days? Thanks for the treat HarriL! We've been waiting for a while :p

  • @Lord0Drizzle Hah you beat me to it. Good to know that things are under control here even when I'm sleeping ;)

But yeah, no problem! I have a feeling that I could do some more this week or weekend! Maybe I'll do something today. :D

  • Nice song.

Only Shiva can do knob tweaking better with her eight hands:)

BTW how inspiring is to make music outside? I should try it once.

  • @w0lf4c3 Thank you man! :) I can tell you that it is VERY inspiring. Especially when you have a scene like this and you are just jamming around.. I can only imagine what it will be like in the summer when the sun is setting on the horizon and you just get lost in the music :D

You should try it atleast twice :)

  • Nice one, thumb ups!!, not too cold in finland night??

  • @Kofla2000 Thanks! It was +2c when i checked the temp there. Without the fire it would have felt pretty cold! :D

  • Nice work!

  • @Whitelightevil Glad you like it!

  • I really liked that one. You do your best work outdoors. Bravo

  • @mattsynth Why thanks man :)

  • HarriLle yläpeukut, komiaa settiä

  • @kapyrauhanen (y) :3

  • Not sure but I think the video limit has been increased to 15 min for everyone, no need to cut off at 10 min! We would love to hear 5 more minutes of you!

  • @peter47a Yeah I noticed that while uploading. But I didn't check the time when recording this, so it has a "natural" ending :)

It's nice to know that you people like this :)

  • Jätkällä on kyllä skillssit hanskassa! Jatka Harri samaan malliin.

  • @Agrotiss Kiitosta vain, yritän parhaani :)

  • Nice man!

  • Absolutely Fabulous! :D

  • @callmekorbi It was pretty fun, thanks for your comment :)

  • Nice idea for a setting! :-)Music sounds good too!

  • @JohnLRice at first i was going to do this in daylight, but it turned out to be very cloudy day. Then I got this idea that what if..... :D

Obviously i should've moved the lightsource from the back to the front because all you see is blinking lights :)

    Thank you!

  • how many times did the fire go out while you made this?

  • @OMGItsWeasel I made the fire, layed the gear in front of it and made two live runs (both recorded). The fire didn't go out a single time :)

  • @HarriL it was meant to be then.

  • of course it is ! ;) very cool idea man !

  • Great job again...hmmm....and what a romantic video ;)

  • @FaridYahyaoui Thanks, yeah isn't it lovely :D
