@Scisseron. Viotti is not Barogue. From 1755 to 1824 he spanned nearly the lifetimes of Mozart and Beethoven and so is classical. This is maybe his best known work. It inspired Brahms' Double Concerto (Violin & Cello) also in A minor. Both Brahms and his violinist friend-composer Joachim greatly admired this work. In fact the opening phrase of Subject 1 of Brahms concerto uses very similar notes to Viotti's. (Personally I prefer a faster tempo for this movement, it's a bit unexciting here.)
@runescapemichbla forgotten as in his concertos are not performed in the concert hall as often and as in he is not as mainstream as beethoven, bach, brahms, etc. ask any non-violinist musician and they might not be so familiar with viotti unfortunately :(

Why Baroque players don't play well?
It's so bad this versin they don't even write who the player is!

A very nice concerto which I didn't know about.
I must get more familiar with all these great violin concertos, which are not from the famous 20 or so. It doesn't mean they are any less great.
Thanks for opening me up to all these less known concertos!

yea viotti was a violinist/composer who mostly composed for the violin so he was kind of forgotten, but still amazing!

@runescapemichbla Sadly his music has been slapped with the "student music" label and rarely gets played in concert halls.
