Where did you find this? I did the computer graphics for this film on an Amiga. I even got to jump out of the way of the speeding car in the opening but I haven´t seen this even in the VHS Must Burn Bin!
Rod Steiger thought he was dying while making this, he was rather sick and stuck to his trailer. A. Pays was an eyeful. Thanks for uploading this piece of my Hollywood childhood!
@ddd1953 Did you stick with it and work on anything (not to sound rude I just don't know how else to phrase it) "good" or did this make you rethink film as a career choice? I could see it going either way really lol
Me too, i saw this when i was 7 when my brother rented it and watched it with him and creeped me out. A nice Sci-fi horror film and could have been one of the inspirations to Splice, don't you think?
@Johnlindsey289 I was around the same age when i first saw it on video. It is a very underrated Sci-fi horror classic that is way better than that piece of crap Splice movie.
I am impressed I never have found anyone that ever saw this movie besides me then I see the massive views that you have on your channel. People like you make cult classics and campy movies to the next generation.
Pease can someone explain the medical condition Melissa had, how she contracted it and why she turned into a fish human Goblin? I just don't understand. Why did she turn into the thing. Or was that just a non sensical reason to use special effects for his movie? Thanks.
Thank you for posting... I remember going on a saturday afternoon with my best friend at the time and watching it in a double feature along with Cronenberg´s The Fly... I was like 14... Hey do you know if there is a dvd release of this movie???
This flick isn't too bad. Some genuinely tense moments. The critters seem to be a "homage" to "Alien" and also fake tentacles being waved from just off-camera. The only thing missing was Bela. LOL! And thank you for the entertainment!
@GohModley what I will admit to is that I would bang that english bitch even after she turned into a fish woman! put that in your pipe and smoke it sucka
im 43 mins in and nothing has happened! absolutely nothing!, :( hmm ill try another movie, is there any where something actually happens? i love 80s horrors and sci-fis but this one bites!
thanks for the movies! There are tons we never saw growing up,because everyone did not have vcr's or the old beta's in the 70's and 80's we did not have one until 1985 or 86.People nowadays see everything that is released. If they miss it at the movies you can always rent or buy them.We did not have that option.Hell HBO was a luxury in most homes when it first came out.
another thing about today's horror movies is that they're filmed entirely in the dark so you can't see what's going on. or they use that blue lighting to set a supposedly dark mood. has any one else noticed this?
...I Seriously Love 80s horror ,but this film is crap, badly acted ,rubbish script ,some utterly ridiculous scenes, Its a joke really......somehow its all redeemed because some of the special effects/make up is so absolutely stunning and genuinly horrifying...tentacle in face!!...the effects team should have made the film themselves and sacked everyone else ,, Infact ,
Watch 'THE THING' by John Carpenter instead ...that really is one of the greats when it comes to special effects
I'm about to watch this movie again... it's been over 20 years.. O.o I've always called this the SCARIEST MOVIE EVER.. it's time to face my fears. wish me luck everyone I am going in.
holy shit...i watched that movie when i was a kid, and that fucking car scene scared me as hell....im 26 years old and can say, that ive seen disturbing things in my horrorfan carreer...but this scene has forced me to look besides the monitor and only watch all i can focus at that angle....my heartbeat goes fucking speed metal, damn i can say,ive been creeped
I loved this movie. The 80's had great movie's and awesome music as well. I checked on Ebay and there are a few for sale right now in case anyone is interested. I hope they come out with it on dvd sometime soon.
This was the first film I ever worked on. I started as a shop assistant for Michael McCracken Effects Studio and this was the film he was working on when he brought me in. I actually got to create one of the mutated lab creatures as well as play one on screen. Fantastic learning experience and wonderful memories. Thanks for posting this.
Love this movie, where the hell is the dvd release? I think there was one planned a few years back but it never happened. Criminal. The VHS box art was superb, it could light up an entire house!
Yeah first comment!! Also 80's horror movies were at their best, these days horror movie have CGI, it lacks the charm of 80's horror movies. Monsters from the 80's actually look like monsters.
When the bearded guy that got punched at the beginning, did anyone see the striking resemblance of the character "Windows" from The Thing?

Can you imagine Sam Rami, Zack Snyder, or the guy that did Texas Chainsaw remake got a hold of this how cool it would be?
