I like Macs since they are the professionals' choice AND are extremely easy and hassle-free to use. What sounds like an antagonism is reality with the Apple computers!

Your decision to buy a Mac (Apple) was a very good one. I've got the same as you, the iMac 24" as well as a MacBook Pro notebook. Both are excellent pieces of hardware, and it is PURE FUN to use them.

Hello Peter! Clothes changig to beige is a good observation. I`ve sometimes thought that when I by time get old I`ll tell my family (if I will be blessed with children) that they`ll have to tell me if i stain my clothing (because I will not see the stains myself). But, when someone changes their clothing to beige, maybe the sauce will be difficult to spot? well... best of whishes to you and the Zimmers!

It's good to know that you are aware of Windows Vista and not to upgrade to it yet, but in my view i wouldn't move to a Mac, not everything is compatiable with it and yes people say that there are never any problems with them but thats not true, Mac's can break down just like PC's there is no doubt about that, Mac's might be more stable and run faster but not as many things are compatiable with them as there are with Windows.

I would recommend to buy an I MAC. I have one since almost a year and I am in the clouds. Very fast easy to work with. It comes with all programmes installed.
Just start it up and it will be auto=insyalled in 15 minutes. I mac starts up in less than 15 seconds.
I really hope you read this Peter because you need to know that you are amazing! id get a mac mini if i were you, theyre not that expensive, you can run windows xp on it with a little editing, and you would have all the lovley mac editing software

personally i dont have a mac, but my partner does and he loves it, his brother has a mac book as well, since you do so much video editing it would be a great investment, you can always buy a diffrent brand in the monitor and save a few pounds (im from australia so i hope pounds is the correct termanolgy :D)
The morning after my 19th, i crawled my way up to a bus station with a hang over to make my way home. Feeling rough as ever kept my sun glasses on.
Then a elderly gentleman sat by us, He reminded me so much of you, telling his life stories & how his voice relaxed me. he was telling me how he was visiting his sons and he needed to catch his bus home and how proud of his grandchildren he is.
It really helped my hangover though , strange haha :)

I agree. The haters have no clue. They are under influence of their own nasty comments. It happend to me, people said some things i wasn't liking so much, and next thing i know it, Im about to say the things they're saying to others videos. I stopped my self before i woulda though.
You really should consider backing up your programs on a cd with nero burning rom then reformatting with either the disc or if you have recovery just hit F10 and do a complete system reformat!!!Take care

Dear Sir, I hope that you are considering buying a Macintosh Laptop as for one it would give you a lot of mobility and they also tend to work easier and not give much trouble as a desktop.
That's good you have your son to be able to help Peter. We can't have you without a computer in June...we're hoping to see you with Zipster, Karl and Teresa on there! I must admit I prefer a desktop pc to a laptop.
Peter, it's good you are learning about computers. I am sure you know how to defrag, scan disc and disk cleanup. Also, I am sure you have a registry cleaner/repair and anti-virus/ad/spyware program. But for God's sake, DO NOT mess with the Bios unless you really know what you are doing.

I love my mac laptop and especially with wireless. I can take it to lots of places that have free wireless. I've had it more than three years with no problems. I'm an old lady l928 and continue to marvel at the internet. I'm going to video my husband and put him on youtube. We don't die before we die. Life long learning I say. Cheers to you.
perhaps you have a cheap mainboard with bad, cheap chinese electrolytic capacitors. which are infamous for firing up quickly ;-)
if your son replaced the one cap (wasn't a transistor) with a NON- low-ESR one, this maybe the reason why it fired up again, or something else on the board got damaged & will fire up any cap you put on it.
Buy only computers with reknowned brand boards in it, it will save you trouble :-)

on that computer you may need to simply flash the bios....your son seems quite knowledgable suggest this him. because the transistor is different the bios may simply be acting funny, so possibly flashing it could fix the computer. :)

We used to have problems every week with our Windows based PC, then we got an Apple mac and haven't had any problems in two years- they're worth the extra cost, besides Windows is for squares and you're too cool for those Geriatric, heh heh.

yes peter, it is a real pain loading all the software back on the hard drive after wiping it clean. the worse thing is all the updates that come flooding in again for about a week, and the number of reboots you have to make. keep well.

You really should consider backing up your programs on a cd with nero burning rom then reformatting with either the disc or if you have recovery just hit F10 and do a complete system reformat!!!Take care

Dear Sir, I hope that you are considering buying a Macintosh Laptop as for one it would give you a lot of mobility and they also tend to work easier and not give much trouble as a desktop.

Peter, it's good you are learning about computers. I am sure you know how to defrag, scan disc and disk cleanup. Also, I am sure you have a registry cleaner/repair and anti-virus/ad/spyware program. But for God's sake, DO NOT mess with the Bios unless you really know what you are doing.

I love my mac laptop and especially with wireless. I can take it to lots of places that have free wireless. I've had it more than three years with no problems. I'm an old lady l928 and continue to marvel at the internet. I'm going to video my husband and put him on youtube. We don't die before we die. Life long learning I say. Cheers to you.

perhaps you have a cheap mainboard with bad, cheap chinese electrolytic capacitors. which are infamous for firing up quickly ;-)
if your son replaced the one cap (wasn't a transistor) with a NON- low-ESR one, this maybe the reason why it fired up again, or something else on the board got damaged & will fire up any cap you put on it.
Buy only computers with reknowned brand boards in it, it will save you trouble :-)

on that computer you may need to simply flash the bios....your son seems quite knowledgable suggest this him. because the transistor is different the bios may simply be acting funny, so possibly flashing it could fix the computer. :)

yes peter, it is a real pain loading all the software back on the hard drive after wiping it clean. the worse thing is all the updates that come flooding in again for about a week, and the number of reboots you have to make. keep well.
