tthank you for this video! Can the fries be weighed? I eat 6oz of sweet taters each meal for my diet. normally i make mashed sweet taters but would like some fries! But i need the grams of carbs to be the same (30g)
@dself92 one tablespoon of olive oil is 11-13.5 g of fat.so if i put those on the frys they would have the macros 11g fat carbs 37g carbs 4g protein about 270calories...same macros as mcdonalds cept it would have more micros
@dgwear69 You are aware of the different types of fats right. McDonalds chips are fried in Canola oil, corn oil, soybean oil, hydrogenated soybean oil with TBHQ and citric acid added to preserve freshness), dimethylpolysiloxane added as an antifoaming agent.. None of which you should really be eating anyway. Olive Oil is primary Monounsaturated Fat which is good for you, not to mention all the other health benefits of Olive Oil.
@dself92 the bad part of mccdonalds is the trans fat and the shitty micronutrition vs olive oil. if you were some how able to do away with the transfat it would have no differance in the body from a macronutrient perspective. olive oil will make you fat too, i challenge you to eat more than your body need of chicken brown rice and olive oil and youll get equally as fat as you would from eating any other "unhealthy foods"
@dgwear69 A calorie is not a calorie. If I ate 3500 calories of lean protein, complex carbs and healthy fats. And 3500 calories of Mcdonalds, Ice Cream and other Junk. The latter would be worse for your body composition. Assuming your lifting weights which, the majoirty of people watching this probably do. I'd rather eat these sweet potatoes than mcdonalds chips... your body composition.
@dself92 OH LARD! i bet youd tell me that fruits will "spike " healthy individuals insulin to. please learn how to apply the science of nutrition to real life. your body doesnt know food qualities it knows nutritients.
Good vid, and a healthier alternative to fast food fries. I Iike to coat mine lightly with extra virgin olive oil, salt, black pepper, and golden brown sugar. Basically done the same way you did yours....makes them sweeter and the kids LOVE them!
Great cooking, yet, it works even better if you first WRINKLE up the aluminum foil, that way you don't have to use cemical spray to keep it from sticking, I do this when making regular potatoe french fries, NO oil at all, Herm
@leanbodylifestyle can I use a teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil on the fries instead of egg whites? dont have the whites but will the olive oil in oven make them unhealthy? great reciipe
sweet potato and 4-6 ounces of some lean protein like chicken is a nice meal to have on days of resistance training imho. not immediate post workout as you want simple rather than complex carbs. but somethig like lunch or meal three. or pre workout might also work. so then it's enough. 160 cals, say it's another 150 from the parmesan or olive oil and the protein. 300-350 is perfect. thanks, I'll make these tomorrow. I'd probably put mustard on top but that's personal pref.
ohhh these have been my new addiction. But I add a tiny bit of olive oil for some healthy fats (you could use just water) with garlic and Parmesan. Sweet potatoes are good for you but I measure about 4 ounces to eat. You can get out of control with these.
a bit of advice skip the egg white part. egg whites turn to cooked eggs when you cook them. therefore the egg white at the bottom of the pan will turn to cooked egg white and it will be mushy white stuff. so skip it. if you wet the sweet potatoe with water the spices will stick and the water will evaporate in the heat. peace.
Amazing amazing amazing videos man! I'm training and eating healthy but while I have no intentions of counting calories, I am curious about the daily amount of carbs. Could you recommend a good amount for cutting but NOT being on a low-carb diet?
Hey man, i have a severe allergy to egg, and from what i've seen 99% of your vids include egg (either yolk or white), is it any possibility you could make some recipes without egg?
hi michael, i just made these with the chicken from your last upload and omg they taste fantastic... many thanks for your uploads, im working my way through all your recipes :) they all taste amazing. keep eating clean mate :D
@rbasi25 you could make your own ketchup with stevia. Just look up a recipe for ketchup and replace the sugar with stevia and you will have a much lower calorie content.
looks awesome!! I can't get over your bottled egg whites though - looks futuristic to me to get them from that cardboard like milk :)) would you leave out the yolk at all or is there anything you'd advise us to cook/bake with it? (It's probably high on calories?)
What do you think is better? Microwave a whole sweet potato, or do it your way? If I microwave it, do i loose nutriments that can be saved when baking?
Michael, u awesome motherfucker, I was just gonna ask if you could make a recipe for something crispy since I seem to be missing that texture from my diet. Ur the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
Wee tip: put the chips into a bag instead of a bowl, makes it easier to season everything evenly. cheers for the vid
