  • I loved the fact that at any speed the A stock would always soothingly rock from side to side which I miss on the S stock

  • RIP 1967 A stock

  • Yes there are 142 seats less...you have 306 seats and you can seat on all of them because is and end-to-end walk train. In the old trains you have access to a limited number of seats (that are in 1 carrige). So the correct comparison is there are 10 or 20 or 30 seats to 306. It' s measured car by car not by train. So the new train is like a whole carrige:)). S Stock rocks! The problem is other european cityes have trains like this before 1800 b.c. (not but still much earlier than London)

  • Vicki is so cute :]

  • i would.

  • This is a well-done video, whether S stock trains are better or not. It was easy to see differences between two.

I think I like the older one, by the way.

  • цеа

  • I love to have a ride on these new trains. :-) Hopefully I should when I go to London in a couple of weeks time to connect en-route to Yorkshire.

  • I think I just came into shot at 5:23 boarding the Uxbridge.

  • i like the old trains more.

  • Nice video. I'm from New York City. The London Underground is a much nicer system. There are no rats or bums like in the NYC subway. I'm going to save some money so I can take a trip to England within the next 5 years.

  • I am an S Stock fanatic, and I travel on the metropolitan Line a lot, however since I mainly travel on the Uxbridge branch, I have not had the pleasure of riding one. Other members of my household have though, and they have, amazingly, criticized it!

  • @formulacountdown really? they should be operating on the uxbridge branch, i believe uxbridge - baker street. keep looking out.

  • so there were a train on each platform.on one platform, an old 67 stock. on the other platform a new 09 stock. if was alone i would have got the 2009 stock

  • 3rd march was the first time i used the s stock. the exterior looks good but the interior is bland, they could have done better with the interior. the seats are smoother than the class 378's. i could feel the heater from the roof when i went on the s stock.

i prefer the s stock to the a stock but i like the purple bars on the a stock. i cant wait till when the s stock could go faster.

i could have used 2009 tube stock few weeks ago but my mum was in a rush to get home. we were at walthamstow...

  • Which 1 do u thinks best old or new style train

  • I love the S stock train, this S stock train is brand new and should everyone stop vandalism on windows or the car train

  • 2:15 You forgot there is another source, the windows on the emergency doors do open fully

  • die a stock train DIE

  • @MultiCARTOON Get a life

  • Great reporting skills! i'm doing the same thing myself. but unfortunately, i'm in year 8 and i've got gcse's coming up. i'd like to hear more from you. SUBSCRIBING!!!

  • are these trains quieter than the existing ones?

also, what is the noise that the existing trains sometimes makes - a generator of some sort?

  • @aajaray What the rumbling noise? That would be air compressors for doors and brakes

  • the s stock looks so cool but i wish they kept the a stock aswell

  • thanks for the video. The ride must be better than A60/62. They used the same suspension design as the 1959/62 tube stock. Nearly fell off the seat between Hammersmith and Acton. The balancing speed on level track of an A60 was 60mph although you could reach 70mph downhill. Downgraded to 50 when cracks appeard in the truck frames around 1993. Used to drive em!

  • 11:28 Wembley Park to Croxley semi fast arriving at 12:00.

12:15 Croxley to Wembley Park semi fast arriving at 12:47.

13:22 Wembley Park to Watford semi fast arriving at 13:55.

14:00 Watford to Wembley Park semi fast arriving at 14:33.

16:35 Wembley Park to Croxley all stations arriving at 17:08.

19:40 Croxley to Wembley Park semi fast arriving at 20:03.

This is from Wikipedia, so don't quote me on it.

  • i thnk the s stock is CRAP

  • I thought the Piccadilly Line Is going to get New Train by 2014/2015.

  • I dont think they should even get rid of the A Stock!!!!

  • the best i know with the timetable is that it makes a trip from Wembley Park up to Watford on weekdays at about 2pm, and does the return trip (first stop Croxley) at about 7pm in the evening. so just take a ride up to Watford any weekday afternoon and see if its there!

  • @geofftech2 2:22 Class 378 also has air con and was introduced before the S stock

  • is there a timetable?

  • Been on this train and i hope to go on it again as it seems to run a non stop service from harrow to wembly at around 4. I didnt feel the air con and i think the seets are nice. It does squeek near the bend but i like the new announcements. Does anyone know when the roll out will be compleated?

  • The S Stock Trains, are in my opinion, just like the 378 Units on London Overground, badly designed with poor seating design for routes where the train can be running for over an hour like the Metropolitan and the District Line, i guess the Circle Line and Hammersmith & City wont be as bad notice as the C Stock are pretty much poorly ventilated anyway, but as someone said, if the S Stocks' Air Con breaks down, then no air avail

  • @grahamf19 exactly they could have better designed them, i still think 96ts has the best interior

  • @bengo940 in my view the 92TS has the best interior, though it still doesnt beat the good old A60, as these new trains, as with London Overground have very short hop seating, compared to the A60/62 which has more long distance seating like Mainline trains

  • @grahamf19 not really a fan of 92ts interior but i think it has one of the best exterior newer small stock should have wide windows like the 92ts and similar face to the s stock

  • nice trains but why do the doors sound like a police siren when they open? i prefer the sound the northern line doors make when they open, theyre much quieter

  • The new seats are small, not as comfy. And if the air con breaks you have no ventilation as well. Less seats, and wheelchair users might as well give up on the LU as many stations have no access for users of them...

  • The S stock is a bag of shit..... A Stocks are the last real trains in service long may they live too

  • as far as i'm aware the trains that they'll roll out of the Circle/District/H&C will be the same, but with even LESS seats. yes the new seats are not as sqiushy and comfortable as on the old trains - we make that clear witt the 'snooze' part of the video.

vicki had not ever written down any train numbers ever last time i checked.

oh, and demanding that i reply quicky is never going to make me reply quickly. there IS a special 's-stock' timetable in effect right now though, yes.

  • @geofftech2 of course the ones for the H&C, district and circle will have less seats as they are a 7 car version of the S Stock, and possibly less than the existing D78

  • is there a timetable for the new trains so that you know when the new train will arrive at a particular station?reply quickly thanx:)

  • Thanks for a great video introduction, Vicki is a natural!. Like the S stock trains apart from the appalling seating. OK for the Circle and H&S but definately not the Met or District.

  • Is Viki a trainspotter and by the way me and my nephew hate the A stock i mean one thing you should have mentioned not to be rude or anything is that the A stock is comfy but the seats are filthy the S stock is clean but if you sit to hard on those seats like I found when I went inside the mock up is flumping onto the seats really hurts below the belt!

  • Me and my nephew hate the S stock because they are going to invade the whole Underground pretty soon although I am still determined to get a ride on one by the way is Viki a trainspotter?

  • My dad built this train :D :D :D

  • Lovely film, and presenter.

The S stock will be restricted to 62mph, even after the signalling upgrades, whereas when it was built the A stock had a top speed of 70mph.

    Simon

  • Really well made and presented. I hope you will go and chase a few 378s, 172s and the 2009 Vic stock! Great stuff.

  • Nice informative video. The new train looks good, its a shame that more people will have to stand during the morning rush but the air conditioning will be most welcome.

  • An excellent video, with a lovely presenter. She is a natural.
