Rhymefest is one of my favorite artists. My opinion on why he isn't as big as say Kanye or Solja Boy, is because he lyrics speak the truth. Mainstream hates the truth, they like to listen to their songs about dropping fat stacks in the club and having titties rubbed up on their 22's.

People who enjoy not only meaningful lyrics, but passion within the song will find Rhymefest and appreciate him for what he is. A realist.

Wale's version is not at all the same verses, the chorus by John Mayer is the same, but the lyrics aren't. Both are respectable in their own right but Rhymefest did it first. This is nothing new in hip hop...they both sampled John Mayer's 3x5 which is a dope ass song, but often in hip hop folks chop up the same song and get something similar and folks start the who's on first shit. Two dope songs branches from the same root.
