Its a shame to see that this song was made popular but the real version, letter by wale wasnt even recognized b/c of Wale not being able to get it approved by his record company. I love that version. I'm not knockin Rhymefet's hussle though, but I am saying that even if you like this version you should still check out Wale's version. Sometimes people need to stand up b/c there is alot of good music out there thats good for america. Don't Forget same tittle different rapper Wale - Letter
@hotbabiboo I'm new to rhymefest. But i don't understand what your saying..wale's verson has alot more veiws that this one, also why wouldn't they approe this beatuiful song!? what kinda bullshit record company is that shit? lol
this piece is beutifully arranged.. substance will prevail...great story teller... i can actually listen without wanting to do some silly ass dance... more of this is needed whether it be from rhymefest, c keys or whomever else can hold the torch... i'm crying out for mc'z to be beyond keeping it real and be genuine.. what a challenge... stand up.. i got your back..

Rhymefest is one of my favorite artists. My opinion on why he isn't as big as say Kanye or Solja Boy, is because he lyrics speak the truth. Mainstream hates the truth, they like to listen to their songs about dropping fat stacks in the club and having titties rubbed up on their 22's.
People who enjoy not only meaningful lyrics, but passion within the song will find Rhymefest and appreciate him for what he is. A realist.
Wale's version is not at all the same verses, the chorus by John Mayer is the same, but the lyrics aren't. Both are respectable in their own right but Rhymefest did it first. This is nothing new in hip hop...they both sampled John Mayer's 3x5 which is a dope ass song, but often in hip hop folks chop up the same song and get something similar and folks start the who's on first shit. Two dope songs branches from the same root.
rhymefest gets no love, he wrote most of kanyes first album, and had a big hand in college dropout. blue collar is one of the best rap albums to come out the chi, let alone the game it's self.
@DoloXlobo This one the original version. Wale actually took this shit from Rhymefest without saying shit. Wale actually got a version that is the exact same thing, don't even change the lyrics. HE just stole the shit basically.
Vneseplayer4 this song was Rhymefest's first, then Wale got a copy of the beat in the studio and recorded his. Its just bad timing that Wale got his released first.
Too bad you ain't rymi'n for the LORD.. In this time of craziness its the time to stay humble and keep the LORD close to your heart.. And keep the things of this world furthest away for they will bring you to your own demise.. Knowledge is not power without wisdom... For the battle is not for the flesh and blood but powers and principalities.. Check out out Humble TIP a christian rapper with some dope rhymes just as good as the glamorized rap of today.. I pray for these lost generations..
during the first minute, I realized that this song i will be listening more, and more times :) Very good job :) I'm writing you to na na na na (music) ♥
This tune is great! I do have one question though...why would anyone want to stink up their song by including John Mayers voice on it. He's such a whiny bitch. If he would stick to just playing guitar (on which I respect his skills) I might buy one of his CDs. Every time I hear his voice though, it's like toenails on a chalkboard to me. That's my opinion and I'm stickin' to it. Peace y'all.
Sup, i'm just a kid from the streets makin hip hop and would appreciate if you would come check out my music. I aint sayin im the best, but i would really value your feedback and who knows, you might even like my music. Im just someone tryin to get out there and be heard, so before you judge me, at least check me out, aight thanks peace
whatever sample he took, it doesnt matter, the shit he just flowed was some of the realest shit i've heard. stop taking this keyboard to use your useless opinion over the internet and go ride wale's dick some more. go listen to his fucking song instead of wasting your time bitching about someone else's song. fucking dickrider.
REALLY? I just lost all little respect that I had for Rhymefest. Wale already did a song titled "Letter" with the same John Mayer 3x5 backtrack. He stole this shit off Wale. I can't even listen to this. If you haven't go check out Wale's version, the one Rhymefest decided to cop off, what a bitch.
