DONT SETTLE. A workshop aint bad because u then learn more about ministry through music not just how to sing. Sadly the church isnt filled always with the most equipped leaders.... sometimes you have to go with who is willing and available. I APPLAUD THE DIRECTOR. I have not always been in the biggest most gifted church, i actually grew up out of a church similar to this and it talk me more than any skilled musician director or anyone could teach me about MINISTRY!
That confuses some because some think that presentable is high notes fancy chords and elaborate arrangements but its simply giving God the best you can give at that particular stage of maturity. Who knows this could be the only thing that keeps these children off the streets. This could be what the children want and only have to do in this particular church. I do believe, however, when given this task the leader or director should look for ways to always enhance and sharpen the gifts.
I applaud this youth choir. But however, i am ultimately disturbed at the comments. Its 2 fold - Why do we get defensive when someone gives constructive criticism and contrastedly why do we give such harsh constructive criticism. Truthfully, God is a God of excellence. And he desires that we prepare the way for his glory! Prepare is a contraversial word but its simply means to work to make presentable.
The bible says that out of the mouth of babes comes perfect praise. Keep on praisin him young people. The young man in the choir told the girl at the end that she wasnt raisin her hands. He is gonna be a strict choir director when he gets older. Praise God for the church of tomorrow
To people who criticize without a heart; Hats off to this wonderful FB Youth Choir because the humility and sincerity can be seen in their faces in what they r singing about and That is what Pleases God, for God is not interested in your professionalism r perfect voice, but your Heart Only, u may be the world's Greatest vocalist to man but if your heart is corrupt, then ur Unacceptable to God for u can not sing your way into Heaven just because u have a good voice u must live a life of Holiness

If you wanted to keep the spirit of God alive, and use rock music to 'persuade(?)' people, then they would only be there to listen to the rock music.

God is a God of the living; not of the dead. If one should b made 2 sit still n church all day by hearing the sound of a song without music, then it will cause the souls of God's people 2 sit still when the Spirit of God tends 2 be moved.
If the hearts of God's people is on a beat that's n a song rather than on Him, than the hearts of man will fail from God. Sometimes a song without music will draw the hearts of God's people unto Him, but sometimes a song with music will revive the spirits more. People aren't going 2 hell 4 singing a gospel song that has a rymthm of beat n it
What causes one 2 go 2 hell is when they use worldy music 2 draw the attention of God's people away from Him by using blues and hard rock 2 cause people 2 move n a fashion that's not of a Godly move. As long as the music is spiritual & it keeps God's people moving n a Godly way with their hearts & minds stayed on Him & not on man.
Apparently you need to define the word "hypocrite". So you are saying if you know of something that would help them be better, you wouldn"t encourage them to take advantage of it? And you say you are trying to upbuild God's kingdom. That's why churches die because we wanna do it they way we've been doing, which could be as wrong as two left shoes. Read Hosea 4:6
Since when did making fun of Children become the norm....I feel flesh all over most of these comments, thats why people dont come to church now, people make it big buisness, I dont care if they hit keys you cant play, to God be the glory, not to flesh be the glory. And the choir director would know your name, wow thats something, get all up in your choir trying to call shots, and leave God children alone

Yes, everyone is not consummed by the mega church, and guess what people still ahve testimoney service, go figure on that, all new things are not so good, I will take the old path
