  • amazing

  • This song never gets old especially this version :)

  • @jojolure911

I feel the same way. So haunting, especially considering what happens in this scene.

  • even better the the original, so amazing

  • this is just great, years go by and I keep listening to this piece..

  • Andre Braugher is the greatest entertainer of our time

  • *google.......sorry

  • sorry to burst everyones bubble but all you have to do is goole it and you will find that arnold mcceller ACTUALLY is the one that lays vocals for this song....i even came across an interview with andre where he confirms that he is not responsible for the epic accapella performance of free bird....sorry to those who believed he actually sang it....

  • @hundoakdov it was actually a composite of both of their voices

  • que voz incrivelmente linda...

  • Esta é sem dúvida a melhor e a mais comovente parte do filme!!!!!

  • Love this song so heart felt. Gives me goosey's everytime I listen to it. Awesome an a sad part of the movie...

  • @carlislebandit Ele realmente soube causar comoção em quem o escutou!!!! Belíssima cena esta!!!!

  • best part of the movie... he sounds amazing...

  • @jbecker8082 OH! Heh Sorry, I haven't actually seen this movie.

  • How's he gonna do the guitar solo?

  • Adoro essa musica!

  • Corrigido !!

  • A musica é Free bird do Lynyrd Skynyrd e não Free as a Bird dos Beatles.

  • what an awesome song / part of the movie....

  • Great song. Great movie. Don't care for the subtitles...Press 1 for English?

  • @MarkusDonnatella This goes to the top of my list of favorite songs because of the song ,movie ,and me in general. I like the song from if I leave tomorrow would you still remember me, to a bird you can not change, but ESPECIALLY lord knows I can change part is my favorite ,bc I'm not a good guy but lord knows I can change. Thank you and them for the movie. I LOVE IT

  • ciao a tutti : vorrei sapere di chi e' questa VOCE DELLA MADONNA! CHE MI HA COLPITO POTETE DIRMELO? GRAZIE SE E' L'ATTORE CHE CANTA E' DAVVERO AMAZING

  • @oinegueotama Ciao Eugenio. Beh, è scritto più in basso: Arnold Mc Culler. Adoro questa canzone e, soprattutto, in questa versione. Sono ormai anni che me la canto quasi tutti i giorni... Buona ricerca.

  • AINT IT DA TRUTH... EVEN ND2 LAFFF AT DA E

  • i love this...

  • amaaaaazing!

  • perfect

  • credit to both! mcculler's voice is incredible, and that was some brilliant playback miming from braugher. the perfect marriage of actor and singer.

  • @pjsmoulder agree completely. i think this type of acting and lip-syncing is underrated. its one thing when simpson of vanilli does it, but braugher doesnt claim to be a singer, this is great acting.

  • one of the best songs of all time

  • Arnold McCuller is great. No music, just one helluva voice.

  • The man is Correct, this is Arnold Mcculler. Incredable!!!!!!!!

  • This is not Andre Braugher's voice, this is Arnold Mculler, this is a playback

  • i WAS readin this thing and it said that andre and this singer Arnold Mcceller put there voices together to make one good voice and for this song, anyone know this is true??

  • @Italianmob1517 Just saw that nobody replied to this. Andre Braugher sang this song and there was no voiceover for Freebird. Arnold McCuller did do the vocals for Try A Little Tenderness, which Andre and Paul perform earlier in the movie.

  • @Italianmob1517

Arnold McCeller did all the vocals for Andre Braugher. Gweneth Paltrow's father who was the director talked about this. McCellar is one of the back-up singers in James Taylor's band and has toured with JT for years.

  • @Italianmob1517 it is absolutely true they combined to make a composite voice

  • @Italianmob1517 Andre went through the motions and Arnold matched his voice movements in the studio

  • it s amaizing!!!!!

  • nice...incredible pasion in deed

  • and then he put his pistol and bang :D

great song, great voice, I never seen pasion like that

  • i think this guy is amazin, wish i own a record company and i would give him a chance to sing,is that is real singing

    voice through

  • thanks for posting

  • <3 it !

  • Great film, great performance

  • nah richard ...think u need that for different things :P ...well unless ur going for a paris hilton

  • Arnold McCuller really is a delight, I always wondered why he never made it big. Thought this performance might springboard him.. Either way thanks for posting this.

  • unfrotunatly u need more than talent to make it these days ...like big boobs

i agree tho, mcculler obviously very talented and should be more famous

  • this is one of my favorite songs in the entire world. This version is absolutely filled with emotion and really shows his feelings.

  • did he died

  • yeah cops shoot him.

  • yes

  • ye-haw hims done did died grammar queen

  • Yeah, not sung by Andre Braugher, actually sung by Arnold McCuller. However Andre Braugher did sing Try a little tenderness with Paul Giamatti.

  • Someone tell me why Andre Braugher is not a big star?? This man is a gem. Hollywood, smarten up!!!

  • yeah daz he did but every song that was sing in the movie was the actors. i can prove that i worked on this movie. so dont say anything until u know the facts

  • ooooh prove it lol!

  • he is the singer...u worked on the film ? what like production ?

  • Its not that hard to figure out. You just compare the CAST against the artists on the SOUNDTRACK. Arnold McCuller sings this, but Paul Giamatti, Gwyneth Paltrow and Huey Lewis actually recorded their own voices for the film and soundtrack.

And delltop26, the only work you did on this movie was sweeping the floor. As if you can write so poorly and then convince anyone that you have a professional career.

  • from what i heard, all of the actors sang for the movie but most of them had their voices blended with a singer to get a better tone and quality when they sang.....

  • forgot this part of movie aswell till i saw it last night its brilliantly conveyed by andre braugher miming i know but still brilliant.

  • Arnold McCuller is the singer

  • thx for that :)

  • He sang "Nowhere To Run" in The Warriors..

  • this is so sad..best iv ever heard free as a bird

  • Fucking Love this Movie and Song...Accapella all the way...TEARS!!!

  • I love the movie and FUCKING love the song more.. o.O

    Accapella makes it so sweet.

  • i Love The Movie and FUCKING Love this Song

Accapella..Wow.I Watched This Last night,EPically Cried.

  • love this movie

  • This song is unfortunately as true for me as when I first heard it.

  • put this movie on recently when I wanted to watch something but had forgotton about the ending, had me fighting back the tears, excellent film

  • very nice, I'm kind of torn that you cut out where he gets shot because its important but at the same time you'd need to see the whole movie to understand why its sad.

  • thats fkn awesome, dont care what any1 says,... that is absolutely brilliant, round of applause at any bar or club.

  • I think that was as good as the original

  • WHat?! You aren't gonna show him getting shot?

  • I love this scene.

  • What a name This music????

    Is sing too ????

  • The song is called Free Bird, and it's by a group called Lynyrd Skynyrd. This version is from the movie "Duets".

  • i had to play the guitar hero version at my friends funeral and i also cry

  • stoopid

    that isn't bernie mac

  • i have to sing this at my dad's funeral, everytime i watch this movie i cry at this part

  • Did you seriously think that was Bernie Mac? Wow....

  • LMFAO, I didn't think anyone would catch that. Good on you mate. No, I didn't think that was Bernie :)

  • hahah sureeeee...

  • HAHAHAHA! Bernie Mac. RIP. You had a wonderful voice Bernie. Changed us all. Thank You.

    Bernie for life!

  • are you saying that the guy singing is bernie mac? cause its andre braugher

  • Its not actually him either. He had someone sing over his parts

  • fucking idiot ruin it.

  • thats not bernie back you know

  • he is so good it was my favorite bit of the whole movie

  • the best scene in a great movie

  • This is my favorite part of this movie.

  • I kno could you imagine having to shoot the scene and hae to lip sing cuz u cant really sing ya the singer who they used the vocals of was arnold mccullum i m pretty sure. hes pretty amazing

  • the best lyrics EVER

  • That was AWESOME, (even if he did lip sync it!).

  • he didnt lip synch dog....he might not be singing it when they filmed this scene but that really is him singing

  • ohhh me costo un mundo encontrar este fragmento de cancion, sin duda una de mis favoritas por su precisa y armonica melodia...no i cant change.....

  • God this is wonderful. Love this movie

  • HE WAS SO GOOD

  • I am fascinated....

  • only bought this dvd for the music , first time i heard this song i had to get it. thats how good it is.

  • Bloody awesome voice

  • well pleased it was on utube! sends shivers down my spine every time! love it!

  • i Love this movie very nice to see

  • his voice was on in the movie but it was blended with andres to make a composite singing voice

  • i just wanna add that i checked imdb, and they have cleaned that up. He really sang this, comin man he went to julliard for voice, why would they hire him lol obviously cause he can sing

  • sorry but the he actually lip syncd the song...he said it himself in a interview. Freebird

    on album: Duets

    by Arnold McCuller

  • this is the best part of the movie

  • Does he get shot after he finishes signing?

  • yes, that's why this is the crying part of the movie

  • I humbly stand corrected. The promotion for this film stated each performer used their own voice for their part. It is almost true. Everyone EXCEPT Andre Braugher. I guess you can have fun lip syncing too. Arnold McCuller has a wonderful voice. I feel they should have made it much more known who sang this wonderful interpretation of Free Bird and the big contribution it was to this film.

  • i cried mi eyes out at this bit

  • Um that is Andre singing. Paul Giamati said what a wonderful time he had singing with Andre. I don't know the gentleman you mentioned but this ain't him.

  • Sorru but Andre was lip syncin I love this movie and was shocked when I found out too but this was being sung by Arnold Mculler.

  • Thank you for the information. Because I thought it was him singing. I just looked up Arnold Mculler and love his voice. I've never heard of him before this moment. I loved this movie because of the music in it. I was wathing and nothing else was on, or I'd not watched it on HBO at all. I love Paul in this. And never knew he or Gwenyth could sing. Thanks again....

  • this was a great version of lyrnyrd skynyrd's free bird

  • gooesbumps.

  • this is the crying part of the movie

  • Just so everyone is clear...this is NOT Andre Braugher singing, all of his singing was done by Arnold McCuller. It says so on the original soundtrack and on legitimate sources of information regarding the singing of these songs on this movie. NO hostility towards anyone, just clearing up facts. Enjoy the song and the movie is pretty good too!

  • This makes me always cry... Arnold McCuller - Free Bird Lyrics If I leave here tomorrow Would you still remember me? For I must be travelling on, now, 'Cause there's too many places I've got to see. But, if I stayed here with you, girl, Things just couldn't be the same. 'Cause I'm as free as a bird now, And this bird you can not change. Lord knows, I can't change.
  • umm guys this song is called Freebird, not Free As A Bird, they are 2 completely different songs

  • frikin love ths movie duets its da bst mahn i sung ths song 4mah untys funeral mde all mah whanau cry

  • why do you spell like that??! its aweful!

  • Because you sound like an illiterate retard. I mean i can count, but why bother using the numbers everyone else does right! That's great logic. I hope natural selection finds you quickly.

  • A great rendition of that song!

  • I checked IMDB, it says that all the songs were sung by the actors.

  • imdb is a horrible place to find authentic information. But yes, all the songs were sung by the actors.

  • except for all parts Andre Braugher is seen singing.

  • all the songs EXCEPT this one. The man you see is Andre Braugher, but the voice you hear is Arnold McCuller.

  • amazin but it was not andre singin der, its a voice over by Arnold McCuller

check imdb, states it all there

  • thats bloody special

  • Oh Andre, how much I love thee!

  • Thanks for posting this love this movie my fav part of the movie
