  • hihi, I can speak german!

    hihi, ich kann deutsch sprechen!

wer hat das übersetzt, was die da gesagt hat?

who translate the text, wich was said by the woman?

  • Why not use a GPS with the camera, just use bigger or more balloons. Then you should be able to find it in minutes... unless in lands in a lake.

  • no lie i would have kept that camera sry

  • first of all i have to say: WHAT A GREAT IDEA!

nice family, and the greatest thing about that is that it landed directly where i'm living at, it's called heinrich zille siedlung! haha so nice!!! my thoughts were like, eyyyy this is my hood^^ isnt it?! haha, nice that the family gave it back!

  • thanks! i always wonder if people would see their house from our camera. and now i know :)

  • Are you guys sponsored for this now?

  • nope. we are doing a fundraiser this january in naples thought

  • Yayayayy! haha

  • i love the song.. what is it? Good jobs guys!

  • elevate yourself by grandaddy. there's a link in the description.

  • oh shut up and watch the video, I don't care if you're from mars with green spots shut the hell up, no wonder people die everyday from stupid race differences what difference does it make in the end, we're born, live, die why make it more difficult, just get on with living and enjoy it while it lasts!!!

  • why is it important that they are polish?

  • the germans have a complexes with rassism, right wing radicalism and such things, you have to know! The vlogers only want to tell us, that polish people are so precious. Thats a german Vanity fair to tell us each other each day, what great humanists we became, how noble other peoples are and how stupid xenophobics!

..or maybe, to tell us, that they got a kind of lottery prize - despite the polish citizenship of the honest finders;)

(It's a stereotype here, that polish people are all filchers)

  • The Germans! Isn't it stereotyping again? I mean what a hell, people could be stupid everywhere; Polish people are just as precious as Germans or Afghans. People are precious, stop talking about THE .... that is what you call racism! (and check your spelling chum!)

  • Total agree wit you. That is such an awesome project with those ballons. To post a question like "whymeee", is a typical german allergicial reaction.

Today we love the Jewisch, but we fear and maybe hate scientology and the "dangerous" islam. This is our double standard.

  • OK cool! So we actually mean the same, and those who like to talk about a..holes should consider the fact that we all have one, not more not less.

    Cheers!

  • it is important for me, not to seem like one of the **holes. We are all human beeings in a very small world, and anybodyis religious, loves his children, laughes and cries. Brothers and sisters!

    @the ballon project.

very nice idea! Try to use thermal activity in sommer, maybe with an old camera. The ballons will rise till 2000 meters within minutes. Could be impressing pictueres

  • Next time write a message like:

"This Is Not A Bomb, is part of the Baloon project, if we don't come to take this away in 4 hours call XXX/XXXXXXX to call us to take this camera away.

Thank you very much for being part of this project."

The last line is a try to avoid stealing...

  • Is that a flip video camera that you are using?

  • almost. it's the disposable kind.

  • eine bombe die mit ballons angeflogen kommt, lol.

klasse das die euch ehrlicherweise angerufen haben!

  • happy ever after...super ending!

  • oh yeah! grandaddy!

anyways though, that was an awesomesauce project...but i wonder if you'd do it in the USA, the camera would probably never be returned to you sadly...

    but it's a great idea!

  • let's hope that's not true this summer! here we come america!

  • oh...okay! well, i wonder if i'll see it!

  • thanks for that citizenstand ive always wondered what that meant....... Polish are everywhere but poland havent you been to the UK

  • ooh great video

    and very good song

    love grandaddy, AM 180

    videos assembled very well

  • haaaa, a bomb. lol.

  • Can anyone tell me what a " Viog " is ???

  • Think it was Vlog as in a video log? not sure :P

  • Video (B)log

  • Just the same as Mexicans end up living in America!!!!

  • It's a great idea . I'd love to do it , but I just couldn't trust letting my expensive video camera loose like that . I know for certain that the scumbags here would steal it and even try and shoot it down . I'd love to do the same thing with a remote controlled helicopter . That way I'd decide where it goes .

  • I'd like to a higher res version of this , You tube has shrunk it badly , and the detail of Berlin isn't too good .

  • Now, how polish people ended up living in Berlin?

  • What if it wouldn't have been raining and They would just have started flying further and further and further...I mean, they can fly pretty fast if there's wind.

  • that's true. we took advantage of the rain that day :)

  • what if it landed no the roof?

  • not possible with our precise calculations

  • Wo0t wo0t! Horray for the success you guys! that was really cool!! Do another one!

  • wow how long was it in the air ?

  • lol nice idea

o how did the camra not brake i mean it fell like 100 feet

    well it was on ballons..

  • Put a transmitter on with it and you could radio direction find it.

  • The Germans get real uptight about unlicensed transmitters. I suspect they would have to go through a paperwork maze you would not believe to get permission.

  • and THAT comes from an AMERICAN!!!

  • Well, perhaps that information is dated - when I was last in Germany, the Berlin Wall was still standing. The first time I was there was in 1964, and the police patrolled with receivers in vans, and they were death on any illegal transmitters. Literally - there was a shooting in Munich while I was there. I suspect they were looking for spies.

  • back then though, the people you are talking about were russian...

  • Or the East Germans. Let me tell you, as one with military coonnections, that the thing that worried the Army in Germany, at the height of the Cold War, wasn't the Russians. It was the East German armed forces. They, by God, were professionals - the Russians were basically thugs.

  • true...

  • If I had found the camera I would have deleted the footage and put on some porn to replace it. That would have been a laugh.

  • Wow yeh that would've been hilarious...you child

  • What video editor did you use for this video. I like the text!

  • Nice idea - Just a shame it was raining - We kind of had a similar idea but taking single shots every 1 minute or so. The weight of the camera's then put us off, but now they're are so small & light. We look forward to more journeys. PS: More commentary less music please we just want to hear what's going on that's all.

  • haha it traveled all the way to poland? :) Thats pretty cool.

  • poland?

    why poland?

they startet in east berlin and it landed in west berlin...

  • You have a problem with polish people? arg lol.

  • The word poland was not used. POLISH was. Read!

  • Excellent idea!

  • Enjoyed the Balloon Project very much.

Just one thing I want to know: How far did the balloon travel? Would be cool to know.

  • thanks! it was about 5 kilometers in 9 minutes.

  • Take 100 meters of fishing line and teather it for a tour with better camera with remote zoom. Guess I'm going to stock up on balloons for camping, river event. Power lines would suck.

  • aw how nice of them

They're just mentioning that they're Polish, nothing wrong with that :P

  • great story, interesting idea

  • don't like vlogs lol.

  • lol @ 00:13 "dont like vlogs"

nice vid tho guys keep it up

  • Can you guys speak German? I'm wondering why the lady is speaking German to you guys...

  • Theyre in Berlin... numpty!!

  • Yes, I was commenting on the fact that they're Americans in Berlin.

  • i dont know why you have to state of them being polish. but,,,,good video!

  • klebsiellasrevenge writes:

i dont know why you have to state of them being polish.

inmyhumble0pinion replies: It's an American thing.

  • I guess I'd 'a mentioned it too...and I'm not Anerican ;)

  • lo tell me one reason why NOT to mention it...btw. they were really nice, many people would have kept the camera i guess...

  • mitho88 asks: lo tell me one reason why NOT to mention it...btw.

inmyhumble0pinion replies: Their nationality is irrelevant to the comment. It's akin to saying, "my white friend" or "my lesbian colleague" without reason.

Where it would have been relevant is if The Balloon Project would have wrote "yet luckily the balloons landed on the doorstep of a very nice polish family who called us immediately but we couldn't understand because we don't speak polish."

    I hope that helps. ;)

  • ah well maybe you're right, but maybe those americans were just too stunned to meet a polish family in berlin (WOW!) and had to mention it where they could lol

  • Aye, you could be right, WalkingUnderWater (even though there are a lot of Polish families in Berlin, so no novelty there, lol).

But, yes, I'm SURE their comment was well-meaning. The Balloon Project seems like a nice bunch of crazy kids.

  • it was well-meant. "very nice polish family." we offered them a copy of the footage yet all they wanted was that we say that a polish family gave the camera back and didn't steal it like the saying "today stolen, tomorrow in poland" (rhymes in german too)

  • There family wanted us to let germans know that a polish family gave it back because there's a german saying that translates to "today stolen, tomorrow in poland"

  • citizenstand wrote: There family wanted us to let germans know that a polish family gave it back because there's a german saying that translates to "today stolen, tomorrow in poland"

inmyhumble0pinion replies: Oooooh, well why didn't you have that added to the video description? That would have gave context to using the word "Polish".

  • Polish is a term used to describe a nationality.

    wikipedia org/wiki/Poland

  • lovely idea! i do hope no-one in new york shoots down your balloons!

  • Wicked idea for a project, well done polish family

  • omg its a bomb push buttons on it!

  • So they all have learning difficulties or autism, right?

  • totally!

  • Who or what are Vlogs?

  • They're a kind of Polish frog. They can be hazardous and addictive if you consume too many of them.

  • those vlogs can be so dangerous! watch out!!!

  • so true.

  • so what happens when it gets stuck in a tree...? buy another one?

  • you'll see in an upcoming balloon project (*psst we have trained squirrels)

  • Do not listen to aliensrule1, you might get arrested if you try to take pictures of a gov't military base with a bunch of balloons and a camera. If you're not a US citizen doing that stuff, you may not be heard from again for a very long time. Thank the patriot act.

  • Wow, that looks like the same camera i got XD Very cool project. as everyone else here is saying as well- New york doesn't sound like a very 'trusting' place top do the next project. A city with friendly Folks is your best bet. Best of luck with your ongoing project.

  • yea New York is a bad idea to do this in. It would be sweet, but horribly stupid and potentially sucky.

  • if u do that in the states the air force will take that thing down in less 5 mins i garruntee.... once i saw them shoot down this kids remote controll airplane cuz it went too close to the pentagon.... u should try it and time em to see how quickly they shoot it down.... it would be great if you did... thx..

  • Actually,as a New Yorker, I don't think you'd have any problem with doing this in NY. Security is fairly lax in the city, so I doubt that'd be your main concern. The big issue would be if you pick a busy area, your camera would probably end up getting smashed on one of our wonderfully bleak asphault roads. Theft may be an issue, but that's more about luck. The main thing that could affect the project's quality is, if you pick an area with particularly tall buildings, you may not reach above them.

  • im sorry but ny would be one of the worst places to do it. you should do it in los angeles somewhere. we are a bunch of layed back people and would definately give your camera back. unless the bums get it then damn they will have beer for days, but other than that i think los angeles would be a perfect place.

  • The New York video will be up soon!

  • 99-Luftballons....*LOL*

  • Dont do the ballon project in Argentina, you never going to recover the camera, you know what I mean?

  • what do you mean?

  • I mean, you never going to recover de camera. And does not depend on where the camera land, it magically dissapear.

BTW: What happen in San Francisco Balloon Project?

  • lol yeah in argentina the camera will already disappear in the sky lol...nah just kiddin...;)

  • Very cool! I figure you pull taht in the States and they would scramble the Air Force and take it down! Wait...i forgot....they seem to be a bit slow in that dept.

  • lol you do that inlondon they will like knock that out in like 5 min just like in WW2 with the spits

  • that answers my next ?

  • WOW, Poles didn't steal it... OK, just joking, I'm a Pole too :)

Nice project, I am happy that it was done in Berlin, love the city...

  • Congrats, guys! Here at NSCAD (Nova Scotia College of art and design, Canada) I'm betting there are some people who would love to try this one out to help expand the project!

  • wait.. from NEW YORK TO GERMANY!!!!!!!

  • lol, two people walk past with arrows over them saying "Don't like Vlogs".

  • Coming soon, the balloon project NYC??? HAH Yeah right. 20 bucks says you never get the camera back, 10 bucks says whoever finds the camera beats the crap out of you and steals your wallets :p

  • That's incredible, I can't wait to see NYC. You guys rock.

  • pootlad

  • message me 4 response pls!

  • the perfect location is in sudbury, ontario dudes.

  • uhh dude i'm polish, that lady talkin doesn't sound too polish to me.. sounded more like russian or czech? something close to polish.. lol maybe even german. unless its some kind of german-polish mixed language, wicked project though

  • she spoke german.. a polish family living in germany ;P

  • lol my bad

  • Very nice editing. 5 stars! Greetings from across the pond.

  • 0:14

    LOL

  • What you guys need, it's someone following you with a camera, as you are following the balloons...That'll be good suspense! Later maybe a helicopter!

  • Now after a Polish family helped you, you should send the camera over Warsaw ;)

  • haha..

  • loL!

  • Ha! cool idea try it with alot more ballons, who knows aliens might find it!

  • that made us all giggle like little boys! little alien boys :)

  • there is a spong bob!!

    great idea, I like !

  • Awesome!!! What a great project.

  • Very good! The perfect documentary!!! I like the part when it's written GETTING BACK THE CAMERA on the street!

  • hahaha, don't like vlogs. Thats cool that you got the footage back, albeit at the expense of a bomb scare. Good job guys.

  • thanks to the polish family!!! and congats for your success

  • Awesome.

  • Yay! Sweet success! : )

  • oh, I love it!! They seemed very nice, too.

  • I don't like vlogs & vloggers either cuz I am one of them!

  • does this guy make any sense to any of you?!?

  • nope ;)

(i was refering to the two guys, but I guess you know that)

  • Anyhow there is no sense in this world. Except in red balloons.

  • haha.. the camera was a bomb huh?
