nice family, and the greatest thing about that is that it landed directly where i'm living at, it's called heinrich zille siedlung! haha so nice!!! my thoughts were like, eyyyy this is my hood^^ isnt it?! haha, nice that the family gave it back!
oh shut up and watch the video, I don't care if you're from mars with green spots shut the hell up, no wonder people die everyday from stupid race differences what difference does it make in the end, we're born, live, die why make it more difficult, just get on with living and enjoy it while it lasts!!!
the germans have a complexes with rassism, right wing radicalism and such things, you have to know! The vlogers only want to tell us, that polish people are so precious. Thats a german Vanity fair to tell us each other each day, what great humanists we became, how noble other peoples are and how stupid xenophobics!
..or maybe, to tell us, that they got a kind of lottery prize - despite the polish citizenship of the honest finders;)
(It's a stereotype here, that polish people are all filchers)
The Germans! Isn't it stereotyping again? I mean what a hell, people could be stupid everywhere; Polish people are just as precious as Germans or Afghans. People are precious, stop talking about THE .... that is what you call racism! (and check your spelling chum!)
it is important for me, not to seem like one of the **holes. We are all human beeings in a very small world, and anybodyis religious, loves his children, laughes and cries. Brothers and sisters!
very nice idea! Try to use thermal activity in sommer, maybe with an old camera. The ballons will rise till 2000 meters within minutes. Could be impressing pictueres
"This Is Not A Bomb, is part of the Baloon project, if we don't come to take this away in 4 hours call XXX/XXXXXXX to call us to take this camera away.
Thank you very much for being part of this project."
anyways though, that was an awesomesauce project...but i wonder if you'd do it in the USA, the camera would probably never be returned to you sadly...
It's a great idea . I'd love to do it , but I just couldn't trust letting my expensive video camera loose like that . I know for certain that the scumbags here would steal it and even try and shoot it down . I'd love to do the same thing with a remote controlled helicopter . That way I'd decide where it goes .
What if it wouldn't have been raining and They would just have started flying further and further and further...I mean, they can fly pretty fast if there's wind.
The Germans get real uptight about unlicensed transmitters. I suspect they would have to go through a paperwork maze you would not believe to get permission.
Well, perhaps that information is dated - when I was last in Germany, the Berlin Wall was still standing. The first time I was there was in 1964, and the police patrolled with receivers in vans, and they were death on any illegal transmitters. Literally - there was a shooting in Munich while I was there. I suspect they were looking for spies.
Or the East Germans. Let me tell you, as one with military coonnections, that the thing that worried the Army in Germany, at the height of the Cold War, wasn't the Russians. It was the East German armed forces. They, by God, were professionals - the Russians were basically thugs.
Nice idea - Just a shame it was raining - We kind of had a similar idea but taking single shots every 1 minute or so. The weight of the camera's then put us off, but now they're are so small & light. We look forward to more journeys. PS: More commentary less music please we just want to hear what's going on that's all.
Take 100 meters of fishing line and teather it for a tour with better camera with remote zoom. Guess I'm going to stock up on balloons for camping, river event. Power lines would suck.
mitho88 asks: lo tell me one reason why NOT to mention it...btw.
inmyhumble0pinion replies: Their nationality is irrelevant to the comment. It's akin to saying, "my white friend" or "my lesbian colleague" without reason.
Where it would have been relevant is if The Balloon Project would have wrote "yet luckily the balloons landed on the doorstep of a very nice polish family who called us immediately but we couldn't understand because we don't speak polish."
ah well maybe you're right, but maybe those americans were just too stunned to meet a polish family in berlin (WOW!) and had to mention it where they could lol
it was well-meant. "very nice polish family." we offered them a copy of the footage yet all they wanted was that we say that a polish family gave the camera back and didn't steal it like the saying "today stolen, tomorrow in poland" (rhymes in german too)
There family wanted us to let germans know that a polish family gave it back because there's a german saying that translates to "today stolen, tomorrow in poland"
citizenstand wrote: There family wanted us to let germans know that a polish family gave it back because there's a german saying that translates to "today stolen, tomorrow in poland"
inmyhumble0pinion replies: Oooooh, well why didn't you have that added to the video description? That would have gave context to using the word "Polish".

Wow, that looks like the same camera i got XD Very cool project. as everyone else here is saying as well- New york doesn't sound like a very 'trusting' place top do the next project. A city with friendly Folks is your best bet. Best of luck with your ongoing project.
if u do that in the states the air force will take that thing down in less 5 mins i garruntee.... once i saw them shoot down this kids remote controll airplane cuz it went too close to the pentagon.... u should try it and time em to see how quickly they shoot it down.... it would be great if you did... thx..
Actually,as a New Yorker, I don't think you'd have any problem with doing this in NY. Security is fairly lax in the city, so I doubt that'd be your main concern. The big issue would be if you pick a busy area, your camera would probably end up getting smashed on one of our wonderfully bleak asphault roads. Theft may be an issue, but that's more about luck. The main thing that could affect the project's quality is, if you pick an area with particularly tall buildings, you may not reach above them.
im sorry but ny would be one of the worst places to do it. you should do it in los angeles somewhere. we are a bunch of layed back people and would definately give your camera back. unless the bums get it then damn they will have beer for days, but other than that i think los angeles would be a perfect place.
Very cool! I figure you pull taht in the States and they would scramble the Air Force and take it down! Wait...i forgot....they seem to be a bit slow in that dept.
Congrats, guys! Here at NSCAD (Nova Scotia College of art and design, Canada) I'm betting there are some people who would love to try this one out to help expand the project!

Total agree wit you. That is such an awesome project with those ballons. To post a question like "whymeee", is a typical german allergicial reaction.
Today we love the Jewisch, but we fear and maybe hate scientology and the "dangerous" islam. This is our double standard.
