  • Thats great! Its a happy song that I think anyone could sing, and it just lifts me up to hear it, but Cass Elliots version its an emotional cord with me, she was a gift from heaven! You guys keep up that happy crooning!

  • I haven't heard that version. Thanks for the kind words though!

  • "Don't Let It Die" was another big hit for Hurricane Smith about saving wildlife and the environment. Not as upbeat as Oh Babe, but a great song all the same. Worth giving a few listens.

  • Love this version, as well as the original. I'm just about old enough to remember it being out. Expect it's before your time, wonder what made you choose this song. How about a cover of Hurricain's "Don't let it die"?

  • Thanks very much. I think this song came out when I was about one or two. It's a cool song, I just like it. Hmmm I don't think I know that one.

  • I watch this video alot ! I like the band and the singer also the chick with the funky hat , it looks like a lot of fun jamming, The only thing I can jam is my finger I have no talent except for other things,, Great Job I love it.

  • Thanks!

  • Great fun... good musicians

  • I had fun watching this version. This song was popular when I was in the 6th grade and would sing it to my stepsister (we had a Greg and Marcia thing going)!

    Good job all around!

  • Thanks very much.

Greg and Marcia? I hope you mean singing together, sounds dirty.

  • Hi Guys.....Yes, I know you are doing a kind of 'Parody' of this great hit....But when you get older.....you will realise that you have helped keep alive a wonderfulm music man and some of his work....

You laugth now....but one day, I am pleased to say....you will play this to your kids and hope they pick up the baton.

    Cheers lads

  • When we're older? Pete is in his fifties. Yeah I know I parodied it, but I actually like and appreciate the song and Hurricane Smith right now. Thanks very much for watching. Oh yeah my kids do play so hopefully they will.

  • hope all you guys are doing well, and thank you again for the video entertainment...got laid off from the job recently...so have time to check out things online.

  • Oh shit. Really sorry to hear that. Hope everything is ok otherwise.

  • thank you so much, Zaftra, yes it was a Gilbert O'Sullivan tune and had found that clip recently...really good...kinda funky video though...I think this version is softer, i.e., less harsh, and perhaps a better fit for Pablo to tackle. thank you.

  • it was a Gilbert o Sullivan song, hurricane smith covered it.

  • Oh ok then.

  • hello to the down under folks...I never tire of this video clip....but pleeeeese maybe do the Hurricane Smith "Who Was It"?

  • I dunno, I've watched it, it's ok, doesn't grab me though.

  • Please....hee hee...please...Hurricane Smith's "Who Was It"?

  • sorry, but must one more time mention to PLEASE do the Hurricane Smith "Who Was It"....please please

  • Oooh, it's like a scary kids party....but good and funny at the same time.

  • Thanks!

  • hey, why don't you guys do a version of Hurricane Smith's "Who Was It", please? That would be awesome and would fit you guys. Hope you don't mind my constant blithering.

  • Ha ha, the blithering is fine. I guess overdoing it in terms of the Hurricanes vocal style..........I'll chech that song out, but we do have a huge backlog of songs top get through.

  • and what is so cool about Hurricane Smith is that he helped out so many artists in a professional way and then turned around and did his own thing.

  • thank you and again so sorry for the blunder (assuming Brit), but yea I understand exactly what you say about "overdoing it a bit" even though I don't think you did....but I got what you were doing with it...it is awesome, comical, and great all at the same time.

  • and also--at a tender age--I absolutely fell in love with Hurricane Smith from the first time I saw him on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson show many years ago...Pablo you ROCK!!

  • Ha ha, thanks very much once again.

  • Just cannot get enough of this video parody...I have to ask...are you somehow taking a spin or (for lack of a better phrase) purposefully making the song a bit more....oh, what is it?....Hackneyed? should I say? ha ha...could not think of what I should properly say....anyway, thank you!!

  • You're welcome. Hmmmm, I/we are overdoing it a bit, but not in a bad way, I genuinely like this song and Hurricane Smith. I just always found his vocal style to be.....almost a caricature of itself.

  • You guys are sweet i wanna party and play songs with you guys. i'll be in london for two months on may 25th just tell me where to sign up? lol! but seriously great job, and nice Casino in the back! peace

  • Brit and all....this guy is great!! Very versatile....How do these people dig up all these old songs?

  • I just like older material. It does it for me musically.

  • Very nice !!!!

  • Thanks!

  • oh Pablo...i've deleted my stupid answer...SO sorry....how rude was i?? last time i have a gin & tonic!! hope you still love me!! lol!!

  • Yes of course I do, thanks for watching btw.

  • So......you don't like it then?

  • Well done lads!!

  • Thanks!

  • I was around when this song first came out. It is a bit corney, but you guys treated it with respect and didn't make fun of it. Looks like you have a good group of friends.

  • Thanks very much.

It is a song that makes you think, 'corny' but then it gets stuck in your head and wins you over because it's a great song.

  • This is a great wee version of what I think is a good song that kind of sounds like it could be cheesy but is actually super catchy, I remember this tune from about 1973?, loved it then, love it now, well done guys. What makes this cover great as well is that you clearly enjoy what you're doing and know the song...top marks

  • Thanks very much. Yeah it's a great song. When I first heard it I didn't think it was serious, such an unusual vocal style. But it really grew on me.

    Thanks for watching.

  • Loved It! Wish I was there! hee hee hee

  • Thanks very much.

  • fantastic!!!

  • Thanks!

  • Do you take requests? If so, how about "My Sweet Lord" by George Harrison? There is an acapella version of this over on imeem by the Belmonts that would blow your socks off It features a cuzzoo and would be right in your wheelhouse.

Best to you and yours. Big fan here.

  • Thanks very much, working on a few songs here at the moment. Will chack em out though.

  • Great! Go to three w's "imeem" dot com and punch in "Belmonts Cigars Acapella Candy" (the name of the group & album) - and you'll see what I'm talking about. Just voices, percussion and a cuzzoo. Really-really great.

  • Awesome! Wish I could give it 10 stars. Just perfect. Thanks for remembering the great, late Hurricane!

  • Thanks very much!

  • that is so good :)

  • Thanks Cat!

  • Good God! you guys, can't you see Helen is in big trouble back there? Something is attacking her head and I think it means business!

Sweet, old-fashioned, charming song and you did it so well. Lovely.

  • my head was cold. No that was no excuse. I get a little manic and do strange things.(:))

    PPQ(Helen)

  • What a sweet song!
