Buy yourself a vapor steam cleaner and use in conjunction with non-toxic cleansers (There are many out there. No more excuses), or just use the dry vapor steam by itself. It does a much more thorough job. It saves money, with less elbow grease....This is way out dated, and much less effective. It's also harmful to you and the environment.....The vapor steam kills bacterior on contact; and no more smelly, dirty sponges, brushes, chemicals, etc., lying around, where your kids can get into them.

I find this procedure from god's word, the bible, works best for killing mildew:
