  • Are lychee trees frost tolerant?

  • @Illchangeitlater I live in Bradenton,Fl . Temp. drops to about 32* F in winter I have three trees and wish I had more. They've been thru 7 winters with no problems. My neighbors tree is 40' tall and never had a problem but is always loaded with fruit during season.

  • @4m0re donde???

  • Really tasting fruit just racently eat it, lots of trees here in Mexico, and very cheap just $1 and u get a kilo.

  • Buko-lychee is my favorite ice cream. Can you grow this type of fruit tree in the Phils?

  • Are you guys near Top Tropicals out there? I'm in Orlando and I swing out that way every once in a while to see those guys...

  • ii

  • i like cheese do u like cheese!!i like pie do u like pie !!i like cherry pie wht about u

  • this is called Lychchinese but i eat the Lych and through away the chiense

  • eating them right now, soooo sweet

  • i love lichi eat keep in eating till stomuch gets buwa buwaaa

  • very sweet

  • They have a very weird taste, it is similar to a grape ( maybe a tiny bit firmer) and the taste I would say is a cross between a grape and a pineapple.

It's a cross between sweet and sour, the flesh itself is sweet (like a grape) but the sugars inside it are slightly sour (like a pineapple) so when you eat it you get a mild mix of sweet and sour.

If you had one that tastes like pickles I would say it was bad.

  • u liar! it doesnt taste like pickles obviously. u must got a rotten one if u said it taste like that, or u didnt harvest it well. DAM I WANT THAT TREE!!! its my favorite tree ever! and it even has my whole first name in part of it!!!

  • @Bubue13 i have had pickle tasting ones it was in the florida keys and i dont think they were ripe yet

  • Lychees have always tasted of rose petals to me.

  • I would be in Heaven if I have a Lychee tree in my backyard...LOL

  • I love 'em!! I once teased my 10 year old nephews stiffing small black grapes into the holes where the seeds had been, and told him they were eyeballs! You should have seen his face when i ate one!!!

  • i dun like lychee dragon eyes are better lychee sour to me

  • it's soooo good.

  • it taste like pickles

  • Not sure where you have had Lychee that tasted like pickles but if you had some that tasted like pickles do not eat any more of them or you might get sick. Lychee is a very sweet tasting fruit

  • thats good thanks,i got some icecream bars from a asian market ,i love pickles but i cant eat these ice cream bars it's gross :P yuck .:)

  • @nipahutgardens Sweet and sour is how I like mine. With lots of fruit water, small seed (more flesh).

  • @nipahutgardens the actual fruit inside the skin looks kinda like an eyeball, its pretty gross

  • @nipahutgardens i think they taste sorta like grape but alot sweeter

  • lychee pickles?

where did u get those? avoid eating more

  • @dedrawilliams either you got a bad lemon or you ate something you werent supposed to :S

  • @dedrawilliams

A sweet lychee, whose seed is planted in the wrong soil, climate etc... will later bear sour fruits. That;s why premium lychees are highly priced and they taste sweet without a hint of sourness and one particular premium lychee is famous for its small seeds. The name of this lychee in cantonese is 'nor mai chi'

  • @dedrawilliams Yea it tasted like that to me too

where did you have them at?

  • there sooo yummy!

  • I like lychee better then dragons eyes..Iunno why..

  • they arent really dragon eyes the real name is longan fruit they are actually very similar i like them both

  • HOW TO EAT A LYCHEE

Hold on it between thumb and forefinger and bite it open, squeezing out the pulp into your mouth.Swish the sweet pulp around in your mouth with your tongue separating the nut from the pulp and spit the bitter nut out. Enjoy the taste of the pulp and then swallow.

  • Actually, you can also

    1. Grab the stem of the fruit.

    2. Gently peel back spiny skin.

    3. Pop the fruity center into your mouth.

    4. Spit out pit and enjoy the fruity taste.

  • no.

  • Lychee tastes sweet and mixed with sour but another type called "Mata Kucing" aka Cat Eye with brown colour skin with black seed are definately veryt sweet but smaller size.

  • heyw here do you live?

  • We have just moved our nursery to Punta Gorda Florida

  • @nipahutgardens I was wondering if I can order some of them?

  • "Li chee" taste sweet and juicy, tastes good. But I like "Dragon eye" better than "Li Chee". Dragon eye is in brown colour, but is half smaller than "Li Chee". "Dragon eye" has a milder tastes. Both of these are available in Chinatown.

  • yo me llamo lichi xD
