Great video guys. Not sure if you were aware but the Alt a choaruinn is kinda a right of passage for scottish kayakers requires no skill as you have very little control but you need balls of steel in particular for pinball. I'v done the Etive loads of times in different levels I didn't see much wrong with how you did things liqiudtexas is just showing his ignorence. The tribs are the best thing about the Etive lovin it keep paddling guys.

As an amatuer kayaker, and I think this goes for all other kayakers, we pride ourselves in the safe and coordinated manner in which we undertake these kind of trips.

Unless you've got some kayaking experience paddling grade 4+ rivers to go against this, would you kindly keep your opinions to yourself.

Why diss the people who are involved in a sport you supposedly are very involved in?

Noone starts out as a pro kayaker. In fact they are a rare thing. Wheres the proof you've paddled these rivers?

Amatuer or not, every kayaker, knows that safety is paramount. Just becasue you are a "pro" doesnt make you immune.

Look at the video objectively, and you will see that safety is not paramount to these weekend kayakers. I kayak with amatuers all the time. I have taught dozens of people to kayak. I would not kayak with these "kayakers". Go paddle your little sit-on-top or inflatable kayak on a Class I. You will be safe there.

I ve paddled rivers grade 1 to grade 4. Enjoyed them all. Cant say I ve done grade 5.... but hopefully soon.

What really annoys me about you is the fact that you used the word amatuer as if its demeaning or that "amatuer" kayakers are in some way inferior people.

Im a weekend kayaker becasue during the week I m in college.

Yes these lads are taking serious risks. I will not doubt that. But to say that you will drown if you paddle with "amatuer" kayakers is outrageous.

I merely made an observation that these guys are dangerous, have no respect for the river or other kayakers (breaking glass), and several other problems with their skills. If you want to take constructive criticism personally and you get your panties in a bunch because of it, then you will forever be an amatuer kayaker. Nothing wrong with it, but I listened to people with more experience as opposed to telling them to fuck off.

HI guys thought that maybe it is time that some that is actually in this video replied to your childish argument and Liquidtexas's ego trip. Nothing that was done in this video was dangerous as we are all experienced paddlers with plenty of skill and experience on this on the grade of water that we are paddling.

As for jumping into hydraulics, well if you were such a good paddler you would be able to see that none of the water is recirculating and therefor no stopper.

No, it's not the safest stuff in the world as Mike says( that is after all what makes kayaking fun right?), but neither would I say it was particularly dangerous either. The pools were all deep, the 'glass' was ice and apart from an admitedly silly paddle spin off one fall no one came close to harm all week.
