kde is becoming more and more stable, while the flaws of the the overall design don't change. i won't go into details, and it's probably only me, but kde remains something i always want to use, try to use, then can't use in the long run.
the qt and kde app developers have my deepest respects, but the ui team needs to get their shit together.
KDE can be so pretty and so ugly at the same time, I mean, the transparent panel looks nice with small windows, but bad with maximized windows, and then is that config button in the corner.
Why are there two hot corners dedicated to tweaking preferences? Is it really impossible to configure KDE right? At least the top hot corner doens't obscure windows anymore.
@TheFri13 I mean, the transparent panel looks nice with unmaximized windows because it blends into the background. With maximized windows you lose this context and the panel looks like an odd colored bar in an otherwise silvery interface.
The top right corner widget wasn't hide-able last time I tried KDE, and the bottom right corner is for managing widgets which I count as preference tweaking.
I last tried KDE on March. I don't think it has changed much but I will try it again, thanks.
@rgzdev Not all distributions come with it by default (as it does not belong to KDE SC) but you can install "stealth cashew" widget what allows you to change transparency or hide cashew. Just install new widget from widget explorer and search "cashew"
@rgzdev the config button disappear when u lock it... and... "impossible to configure KDE right?"... not that is not right :D u can say that for gnome (there is no settings at all there) but for kde... omg kde is the most tweakest graphical environment :)

**reads comments complaining about the UI being hard to use and optimized for tweaks**
**looks at the UI of Dolphin in the video**
**wonders what they're talking about**

@rgzdev What small and maximized windows you talk about plasma? You know you can change plasma theme if wanted very easily?
And the config button in corner, you can move its position or even hide if wanted. No need for it.
And two coners ain't dedicated to tweaking purposes, you can choose what ever you want to them. By default they ain't using any tweaking options.

@floopy1962 You get me wrong, I'm not saying KDE isn't tweakable (although I still can't get it to like like I want).
What I'm saying is that the GUI is optimised for accessing tweaks. It's like teaks is the only thing you do on your system.

Nice trees ;-)
Seriously though KDE/Dolphin looks amazing.

Not bad, but I don't care about the animations, Dolphin needs a bulk renamer, like the one on Thunar, which is really useful.

How to compile it? I searched for it on projects kde org and nothing...

Aren't there to much animations? :)

Still no feature-parity with the Dolphin 1.x List view? This list view looks like a ls -l, doesn't look like Dolphin!
I like the new direction, but List View must be worked on. There's still a lot of time, though :).

still no drag'n'drop?

nice! but I don't think there should be animations when maximizing/minimizing
