I think he'd have got much longer in prison today. He was sentenced over 10 years ago when sentencing wasnt has harsh. He'd be doing 30 years now, hes fortunate to be only doing 17, but then he may not get out after 17 as its a minimum tarriff.

Given he was the prime suspect, why did the police not check the area of the go-carts, and his route to and from work?! They said they did a huge search... it doesn't make sense that they would not search an area the prime suspect knew well and had previously worked at!

He got a life sentence with a minimum of 17 years. That means he will serve at least 17 years in prison. After that he can be considered for parole. But only if the Parole Board decide he presents a minimal risk of serious harm to another person. As he is a psychopath, it is very unlikely he would be able to convince them to ever release him. So in fact he will serve the rest of his life in prison.

But in this case, given how he demonstrated just how cunning and manipulative he is, the minimum tariff should have been higher.

I recall them saying that forensics could not find any evidence of a homicide in their home. How The Hell did he dismember her body there without leaving one single shred of evidence? It doesn't sound reasonable at all. I don't think it can be done. Maybe I'm wrong. BUT 17 years! I thought they'd be a bit more harsh when it came to the horror of his crime. When someone covers up a murder and dismembers the body I think the punishment should fit the crime. Anyone agree?????

He got a life sentence with a minimum of 17 years. That means he will serve at least 17 years in prison. After that he can be considered for parole. But only if the Parole Board decide he presents a minimal risk of serious harm to another person. As he is a psychopath, it is very unlikely he would be able to convince them to ever release him. So in fact he will serve the rest of his life in prison.

With that in mind, I'm sure the parole board will deny his plea for release. He makes me ill. I still can't believe how lenient the judicial system is in England in comparison to the U.S. I think his cocky attitude and going to the media portraying Lyndsey as a "Bad Mum" leaving on Christmas day is what pisses me off about this guy.

So the brother got 7 years for helping to hide the body and he only got 10 more for actually murdering and dismembering her body...10 years??? This poor family have lost two loved ones through him, it´s a pity the police can´t charge him with manslaughter for the death of the brother. My heart goes out to the family.

It seems to me that there is a consensus among us that 17 years is a JOKE of a sentence for this snake. So...what are you Brits going to do about it?! Bitching won't help. You folks need to come together as one and demand harsh sentences for murdering scum like Quy; LIFE should be LIFE and not a day less. @leedumett444 I agree the system needs reforming and criminals like him need more severe punishment. But if it helps ease any anger, this man whether he gets out from his 'minimum' sentence (it is possible for his sentence to be extended) he will never be accepted back into society. He will be shunned, unloved, remembered as a monster, may even endure violence many released criminals probably go through. He will continue to be punished after his release, not by law but by society.

Besides I dont think death is enough, its too merciful, this man needs a life time of punishment and to be kept from both ending his own life to escape it and from returning to the free world.
