Supply side economics worked for Coolidge, JFK, Reagan, Clinton (he cut capital gains taxes), and GWB. There is no instance of Keynesian demand side economics ever working, and plenty of evidence that it makes things worse FDR's decade of double digit unemployment, Carter, Obama, etc
@glazedoldfashioned Debbie Wasserman Schultz said yesterday "We've really begun to turn the economy around." Looking at all the stats there, I would say that Debbie is 100% correct in her statement. Obama and his clown posse have TURNED THE ECONOMY AROUND..... and AROUND......and AROUND. Their plan is not to have a thriving economy, their plan is to FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE America.
Using this logic, her statement makes perfect sense.
Most Presidents like to claim credit for their administrations effect on the Economy after about 2 years in to their term. Which affect on the economy does Obama want to claim?
Maybe it's the December compromise. The whole of the Iraq war is going to cost less than 1.45 December Compromises. The jobs? The debt? The failed mortgage modification plan? Those banks donate to both parties you know -- Dems pay back favors too.
So If a Democracy can die of three known historical causes: inv
@ celtjet "Cares about the people"? Have you been living under a rock!? Oh, you mean he acts like he cares for POOR people and ILLEGALS and NON-CHRISTIANS - yeah, we get that. He absolutely does NOT care for hard-working, entrepenurial, small-business, actual job-creating Americans. He does not care for people who work hard and believe they should be able to keep their money.
@orion7747 you probably should call somebody a mental midget when you seem challenged by the words you wish to use. If you intended to use the word "inherited" you might step back and take a look at the numbers, and who created them. Yes, things were a mess when Obama ascended to the throne. But he inherited what mess there was from a Democratic Congress AND he has compounded the problems they handed him by a LOT. You should look more objectively at facts to make cogent arguments. Just sayin
@dittomarks Wrong, Bush spent trillions on an illegal and unfunded war and it was HIS housing deregulations which caused the bubble. Nice try. Obamas only recourse to prevent another depression was to employ keyesian style economic with the stimulus. It worked. But the GOP still get idiots to believe this mess can be fixed in only a few years. It will take decades.
@orion7747 Who's the one conducting the illegal and unfunded war again? I suppose Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya are all nice and legal and completely paid for now, right? Ya, I didn't think so.
@skbenz When he got in office, Obama put the wars in the budget, which Bush hid. So of course the deficit would appear suddenly grealty larger. Nope, you just don't get it.
@orion7747 Bush funded the wars through emergency appropriations bills. Obama has continued this practice, so there may be some distinctions, but no meaningful differences.
@skbenz The fact remains Bush kept the money for the wars out of the budget (so we could not see how much he was spending for one reason). Obama put the spending for the wars in the budget where it belonged in the first place. Bush put us in a great, big, hole.
@orion7747 I don't think the spending on the wars was a big secret, but you go ahead an re-write history any way you want to make yourself feel better. There's not a dime's worth of difference unless you want to count the 'illegal' manner in which Obama is prosecuting yet another war in Libya. Of course, this is a just war, as are the ones in Iraq and Afghanistan now that The One is in charge. You are intellectually dishonest, so there's not much point in going any further with you. Drink up
@orion7747 You seem a little cranky. Did you miss your nap today? Go get some milk from your mommy and go to bed now. It's time for the adults to talk.
@skbenz LOL yea I gave him a fact and he blamed it on Bush again. Next I guess the German Republic suffered hyper-inflation because of Bush. They blew through 1.3 trillion with interest, and unemployment went up despite it. Spending trillions to save billions. Brilliant.
Obama lovers, mostly african americans, will never get it. That's because they voted strictly on race, not on the man. If Obama were white, McCain would be the president right now. Fact is, the economy is spiraling out of control, and to blame Bush for that right now is comical. Yes, he finished poorly but whatever nimrod said Obama has recovered is foolish.. it's 10x worse since Bush left. Time to stop blaming Bush and look in your own back yard. 9.1 percent unemployment. FACT
Good job in proving you are a vile mental midget eddie. As usual you have nothing cogent to say.
Obama inherent a mess created by Bush. Fact. He saved us from a great depression. Fact. Banks and car companies were saved and bail out money paid back. Fact. He has created more jobs in 2 years than Bush did in 8. Fact. This slump will take longer than a few years to recover fully. Give it back t the GOP and they can finish the job in destroying America! FACT!
@orion7747 Your basic argument takes the form of "X didn't happen, so Obama saved us from X." By that argument he has saved your life since you haven't died, but he did kill Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor and millions of others. Wait a minute, he's worse than Stalin!
@skbenz Well, again, if you listen to more than Fox/Rush you find that dozens of bi partisan economists agree Obama prevented another Great Depression. Polly want a crakcer? Lol!
@orion7747 If you think economics is anywhere near an exact science, you need serious help. So, consensus = truth, eh? History is filled with incorrect consensuses, but you go ahead and drink whatever flavor Kool-aid you want that affirms your delusional world-view.
@skbenz Never said 'consensus,' you're apparently drinking asswipe flavored kool aid. By the way, your old school wingnut 'kool aid' analogy is so cute! Lol!
@orion7747 you said "dozens of bi partisan economists agree". That's what's called a consensus there genius as I can point you to dozens who would say we should have done less and recovered faster. Your name calling is sweet. Do you feel better about yourself? You only reaffirm that liberals are naive children that seek affirmation by buying into whatever their elitist pseudo-parents feed them as 'the truth.'
Obama inherent a mess created by Bush. Fact. He save us from a great depression. Fact. Banks and car companies were saved and bail out mony paid back. Fact. He has created more jobs in 2 years than Bush did in 8. Fact. This slump will take longer than a few years to recover fully. Give it back t the GOP and they can finish the job in destroying America!
@orion7747 No, He inherited a mess created by a Democratic Congress while Bush was in office, moron. FACT. Car companies and banks should NEVER have been bailed out in the first place (and Bush did it first, anyway). FACT. The money has NOT been paid back, Obama just said so. FACT. Gov, Perry of Texas has created more jobs in his state than BHO has nation-wide.
Republicans want gov't out of their lives and pockets - what is wrong with that!?
@ajgum2001 Bush spent trillions on an UNFUNDED war. And it was HIS housing deregulations which caused the bubble. Bush's bail outs were gifts . He didn't require them to pay them back. If Obama would have let Americans icons like GM go under, you wingnuts would be crying like babies. Many banks including GM HAVE paid them back.
I want the government out of my life, too.I did when Bush was in office. Why didn't you then? But, I also want solid regulations to protect me and my family as well.
@ajgum2001 I am a conservative, but I do have to disagree with you on one point. When the crash first started and the banks were awash in toxic assets, they stopped lending money to each other. I was a small businessman, most companies dont have cash on hand to pay their daily operational costs (Labor, supplies transportation ect) so we rely on an operational line of credit. There was a danger the banks were not going to extend line of credit if they failed. no line of credit, no assets to run
@orion7747 Thats not a fact. That's fiction. 1.8 million people have lost their jobs since Obama's massive stimulus bill. You got to be a media matters drone. I can tell because your lies are more articulate than most retarded democrats. REAL FACT UNEMPLOYMENT 8 percent before Obama stimulus, AFTER OBAMS STIMULUS 9.1 PERCENT!
@Paladin1warrior Yeah, many lost jobs in the first few months Obama was in office as a residual from the Bush years. Nice try. And yes, I prefer MediaMatters who does exhaustive fact checking over Fox News who just outright lie to morons like you who lap it up along with the 'socialism' crap.
@orion7747 Bush was a socialist like Obama. If you see fault with big government, deficit spending Bush then you have fault with Obama as well. Sub-prime was allowed by Bush, but was started by Clinton. Sub-prime meltdown which has caused this great loss of wealth is a socialist program. It's time to balance the budget, shrink government, and go back to what works, Capitalism.
@orion7747 Bush spent more money than anyone other than Obama. Bush signed tarp. Bush allowed Cinton's sup-prime to go on until it collapsed. Bush grew government. That is not capitalism. Obama did the exact same thing but to a greater extent. Don't get scared and run off when someone calls out facts.
@Paladin1warrior Your facts are flawed. Bush's TARP money was a gift, it wasn't required to be paid back. Obama's Stimulus saved us from a depression. It was necessary. Money from banks and car companies like GM have been paid back.
@orion7747 Your facts are fiction. The toxic assets have not been paid back, it was an epic failure purchase. GM and dodge hasn't paid back their loans and got reported for false advertising when they did. And some of the money they got was stright up gifts. You can't talk around the fact that Obama, Bush, and Socialism is destroying the economy.
@ben5017 I agree with you. Bush was a socialist. Socialism produces these corrections because they inflated the market above what it should had been. But Ron Pauls foreign policies would had never got UBL.
@orion7747 In one day in Jakarta, Indonesia there is more unregulated capitalism than one year in America ... Regulated Capitalism is better known as socialism or worse yet facism!
Too many people work for this bloated pile of ? govt that would do anything to keep their gravy boat afloat!
the poster you corrected, or myself might not command the english language such as you do, but we are not grasping to find anything just to cut someone down lie yourself! Learn some manners!
@orion7747 : Isn't Obama down like 2 million jobs from Jan 2009? Bush had a net positive of 1.1 million jobs in his 8 years. TARP, which "saved us from another great depression" actually occurred under the Bush administration, albeit half of the amount was handed over. That portion probably didn't need to be spent, but there was no way the Dems were going to pass up a chance to fund some boondoggles. The stimulus was flaccid at best, and arguing it saved the economy is disingenuous.
@skbenz Wrong. Bush's version of TARP was a final gift to his wealthy friends-it was not required to be paid back. Nice try. But you should get you new from somewhere other than Fox if you want the truth. Cause they won't tell you this.
@orion7747 TARP allowed the treasury to purchase troubled assets. It wasn't a loan as much as a short-term investment to steady the banks. That's how Wikipedia explains it, not Fox News. If you want to sit here and tell me Wikipedia is right-wing, then I think you'd better not answer the door as the men in the white jackets will be coming for you soon.
@skbenz Ah...you do realize ANYONE can edit wikipedia and should never be used a s a sources. The fact remains isn Bush's bail out were not paid back wan they were not required to. If you're comfortable with that money coming out of your pocket, good for you!
@orion7747 Yes, but Wikipedia has references that can be looked up. On the other hand, you have failed to cite a single source for any of your half-truths, so I'd quit while you're behind. In other words, back under your bridge, troll. b-bye.
@skbenz Heh, and you complain about me insulting you. You have provided no facts your self. I have; Bush never put the wars in the budget, Obama did and of course the deficit suddenly grew!
YES, Bush had the wars in the budget. Only "some" expenditures were under "supplementals" which is very common. So common in fact that Obama did the same thing! I bet MSNBC didn't report that to you, did they dipshit?
Also, retard, which party controlled both Houses of Congress the last 4 years controlling the budget/spending?
@orion7747: Sorry, retard ~ yes he did. As I said, he only had some expenditures as war supplementals, just like Presidents in the past ..... and just like Obama did.
Betcha 10 to 1 you're a member of MSNBC's small audience of retards.
@celtjet How do you know he cares about the people????? Did he tell you? Did someone else tell you? Is that your deep-down desire, to believe that he really cares? What evidence have you seen that he cares about the people? Because I sure as hell don't see it! Every time a crisis starts, either domestically, or globally, he takes off somewhere, to either go on a meaningless trip, or to play yet another round of golf!
Come on! Be honest! What proof is there, that this man actually cares??
wow,she is out there, either a total nut case or a lyre, can you believe that you the tax payer are paying her salary, retirement ,medical etc,are you proud of this.
@saintjoshuax2 Right back at ya. The Dems have established a new budget baseline, and are refusing to cut from it. Cutting in the budgetary world means lowering the rate of increase, and they refuse to do even that. Regardless of truth, this is the general sentiment, and that's what truly matters when it comes to politics. Both parties lie and distort facts, so perception is what truly matters, and perception is not with the Dems right now. Their policies have been perceived as failures.
@saintjoshuax2 : You clearly haven't researched the topic as there are a myriad of ideas from the GOP on how to help the economy. It's the Dems who have turned into the party of 'no' by refusing to cut anything from the budget. The GOP has said it will look at revenue increases as long as there are cuts. Well, where are the cuts? If the Dems don't pick them now, the GOP will starting in 2013. The Dems are quite simply out of ideas and are trying to ice the ball and wait out the recession.
President Obama could not lead Mickey Mouse to Disney World! He was here on Monday (Durham, NC) and was making a joke and laughing about the economy? He has destroyed the economy with his "Hope and Change" nonsense. The economy is in shambles, unemployment at 25% (real number), over 6 million Americans have lost their jobs and both gas(100% increase) and food prices are rising. Things have gotten worse in the Obama economy!
@stephenabm - Here's a tip: don't combine Underemployment and Unemployment then term the whole number as "real" unemployment. It's a dishonest argument. I don't want people using these tactics to detract from the Ron Paul campaign.
Underemployment includes unemployment (zero employment IS underemployment). Underemployment includes those working part time because of cuts, and those unemployed whether or not they receive benefits. Under employment is 16%.

I think this dem puppet has been bouncing off he ozone layer or something for the past 2.5 years, cuz she certainly hasen't been anywhere on this planet if she thinks that Obama has turned turned the economy around. In fact, I don't ever remember when it was so bad.
With the stupidity and ignorance of the majority of American public (half of who do not even bother to vote), I would not count on jack asses (Dems) being booted out for a long time.
ha ha... that is too funny. Every Dem is like a doll with a pull string. They think if they continue to repeat that narrative, people will believe it. Unfortunately, you can only pull the wool down for so long before people get hungry, cold, and desperate.
This is brutal! She's trying to be a good soldier, but there is NOTHING you can do to stop what's coming in 2012! The dems are done for at least 25 years! :))) ...and thank GOD!
No need to stoop to their levels with foul language. Yes, she lies. Better to just keep proving it just like this ad does and better yet, with David Gregory as the inquisitor! Good job, RNC - spend some money and get this OUT!
This is the tool that Obama was bragging about recently in Florida. She is one of the biggest morons ever to grace the floor of the House -- she actually makes Howard Dean look cogent.

Maybe it's the December compromise. The whole of the Iraq war is going to cost less than 1.45 December Compromises. The jobs? The debt? The failed mortgage modification plan? Those banks donate to both parties you know -- Dems pay back favors too.

Just sayin
dittomarks 8 months ago 3
@dittomarks Wrong, Bush spent trillions on an illegal and unfunded war and it was HIS housing deregulations which caused the bubble. Nice try. Obamas only recourse to prevent another depression was to employ keyesian style economic with the stimulus. It worked. But the GOP still get idiots to believe this mess can be fixed in only a few years. It will take decades.
orion7747 8 months ago
@orion7747 Who's the one conducting the illegal and unfunded war again? I suppose Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya are all nice and legal and completely paid for now, right? Ya, I didn't think so.
skbenz 8 months ago
@skbenz When he got in office, Obama put the wars in the budget, which Bush hid. So of course the deficit would appear suddenly grealty larger. Nope, you just don't get it.
orion7747 8 months ago
@orion7747 Bush funded the wars through emergency appropriations bills. Obama has continued this practice, so there may be some distinctions, but no meaningful differences.
skbenz 8 months ago
@skbenz The fact remains Bush kept the money for the wars out of the budget (so we could not see how much he was spending for one reason). Obama put the spending for the wars in the budget where it belonged in the first place. Bush put us in a great, big, hole.
But hey! Nice try!
orion7747 8 months ago
@orion7747 I don't think the spending on the wars was a big secret, but you go ahead an re-write history any way you want to make yourself feel better. There's not a dime's worth of difference unless you want to count the 'illegal' manner in which Obama is prosecuting yet another war in Libya. Of course, this is a just war, as are the ones in Iraq and Afghanistan now that The One is in charge. You are intellectually dishonest, so there's not much point in going any further with you. Yes, he finished poorly but whatever nimrod said Obama has recovered is foolish.. it's 10x worse since Bush left. Time to stop blaming Bush and look in your own back yard. 9.1 percent unemployment. FACT!
orion7747 8 months ago
@orion7747 Your basic argument takes the form of "X didn't happen, so Obama saved us from X." By that argument he has saved your life since you haven't died, but he did kill Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor and millions of others. Wait a minute, he's worse than Stalin!

You only reaffirm that liberals are naive children that seek affirmation by buying into whatever their elitist pseudo-parents feed them as 'the truth.'

ajgum2001 8 months ago
@ajgum2001 Bush spent trillions on an UNFUNDED war. And it was HIS housing deregulations which caused the bubble. Bush's bail outs were gifts . He didn't require them to pay them back. If Obama would have let Americans icons like GM go under, you wingnuts would be crying like babies. Many banks including GM HAVE paid them back.
I want the government out of my life, too.I did when Bush was in office. Why didn't you then? But, I also want solid regulations to protect me and my family as well.
orion7747 8 months ago

Paladin1warrior 8 months ago
@Paladin1warrior "Bush was a socialist?" Lol! Oh boy. You're too stupid to respond to. Come back when you turn 16.
orion7747 8 months ago
@orion7747 Bush spent more money than anyone other than Obama. Bush signed tarp. Bush allowed Cinton's sup-prime to go on until it collapsed. Bush grew government. That is not capitalism. Obama did the exact same thing but to a greater extent. Don't get scared and run off when someone calls out facts.
Paladin1warrior 8 months ago
@Paladin1warrior Your facts are flawed. Bush's TARP money was a gift, it wasn't required to be paid back. Obama's Stimulus saved us from a depression. It was necessary. Money from banks and car companies like GM have been paid back.
orion7747 8 months ago
@orion7747 Your facts are fiction. The toxic assets have not been paid back, it was an epic failure purchase. GM and dodge hasn't paid back their loans and got reported for false advertising when they did. And some of the money they got was stright up gifts. You can't talk around the fact that Obama, Bush, and Socialism is destroying the economy.

ben5017 8 months ago
@orion7747 : Isn't Obama down like 2 million jobs from Jan 2009? Bush had a net positive of 1.1 million jobs in his 8 years. TARP, which "saved us from another great depression" actually occurred under the Bush administration, albeit half of the amount was handed over. That portion probably didn't need to be spent, but there was no way the Dems were going to pass up a chance to fund some boondoggles. The stimulus was flaccid at best, and arguing it saved the economy is disingenuous.
skbenz 8 months ago
@skbenz Wrong. Bush's version of TARP was a final gift to his wealthy friends-it was not required to be paid back. Nice try. But you should get you new from somewhere other than Fox if you want the truth. Cause they won't tell you this.
orion7747 8 months ago
@orion7747 TARP allowed the treasury to purchase troubled assets. It wasn't a loan as much as a short-term investment to steady the banks. That's how Wikipedia explains it, not Fox News. If you want to sit here and tell me Wikipedia is right-wing, then I think you'd better not answer the door as the men in the white jackets will be coming for you soon.
skbenz 8 months ago
@skbenz Ah...you do realize ANYONE can edit wikipedia and should never be used a s a sources. The fact remains isn Bush's bail out were not paid back wan they were not required to. If you're comfortable with that money coming out of your pocket, good for you!
orion7747 8 months ago

@saintjoshuax2 Right back at ya. The Dems have established a new budget baseline, and are refusing to cut from it. Cutting in the budgetary world means lowering the rate of increase, and they refuse to do even that. Regardless of truth, this is the general sentiment, and that's what truly matters when it comes to politics. Both parties lie and distort facts, so perception is what truly matters, and perception is not with the Dems right now. Their policies have been perceived as failures.
skbenz 8 months ago
@saintjoshuax2 : You clearly haven't researched the topic as there are a myriad of ideas from the GOP on how to help the economy. It's the Dems who have turned into the party of 'no' by refusing to cut anything from the budget. The GOP has said it will look at revenue increases as long as there are cuts. Well, where are the cuts? If the Dems don't pick them now, the GOP will starting in 2013. The Dems are quite simply out of ideas and are trying to ice the ball and wait out the recession.
