This is the first time I have heard this guy and quite frankly, I am not impressed. His groove is ok, by why is he singing? He also needs to tune his drums. I'll look for some better videos.

Don't look him up. I've been in a small room with 20 people or so listening to him teach and jam with some other Loyola Proffesors and he is seriously the best jazz drummer around today. Without a doubt.

I went back and listened to this and found that it actually was very good! Johnny has mad groove and his second line is fantastic. I didn't get it 3 months ago, but I do now.

Johnny is a national treasure. Don't judge him by a shaky, I would guess, amateur video, with bad sound. He's an original and generous musician and a lovely lovely person.
