I live in Traverse City, I love it here. But one thing... Walking 1.2ish miles from the dune climb to the shore of Lake Michigan over all the dunes in mid July (90 degrees) with no water is a bad idea.
I agree. We made that same mistake one year. Also, eating sandwiches at the top of the dune clime is also not a great idea, unless you like to eat sand : )

I lived in Traverse from 1992-2002.
I miss it to the extreme.
Silver lake Elementary / TC west middle school / and West Senior High were the best days of my life.
