When I first heard that The Living Seas was changed to The Seas with Nemo and Friends, I was opposed to it. I finally had the chance to experience the new attraction three years ago, and I have to admit that it was still a lot of fun and super cute! I still miss the original Sea Base Alpha concept, but I can't hate on the new ride, especially since "Finding Nemo" is one of my fav movies!
I remember once when I was there with my family in 1995, my little brother was watching a diver surface in the aquarium and the diver waved to us. My brother took it upon himself to flip the diver off as he passed by. The diver waved a finger at him and surfaced. The rest of the trip we kept telling him that the diver was going to find him and beat him with a dead fish!
3:21 I did that also when i was at The Living Seas. You had to push the button inside the suit & try to turn the lights off using the tools at the end of the arms. I liked The Living Seas, it was fun. :)
Walt Disney world will probably soon be Walt Pixar World cause of all the pixar attractions! I'm surprised Magic Kingdom has like no Pixar attractions. The Living Seas is what made me want to be a marine biologist. RIP The Living Seas.
Having the Seas turn into a Nemo themed pavilion kinda has to be taken in stride. Yes, the Living Seas was great as it was and I miss it too. But with Nemo in the picture, a lot of kids are re-discovering sealife as a fascination.
We went to the Coral Reef restaurant with the aquarium wall and just as we were leaving, a huge sea turtle swam up to the glass. The kids in the area went nuts! I heard them call out There's Crush! at least a dozen times! It really sparks a kid into learning now.
I miss the Living Seas. It never really bothered me that it was just a ride through the aquarium...especially because that ride and the tv show seaQuest made me want to be an oceanographer when I was about eight. Now, I'm still love the ocean and I still go through the Nemo ride just to get to the fish, the manatees and dolphins!
I don't think you guys realize that the Living Seas never had much to do before unless you really like watching the fish and dolphins and manatees.
Now that they have the Finding Nemo tie-in there is a show and a play area for kids, and the optional ride to get to the aquariums is at least a little entertaining.
I miss The Living Seas. <3 Nemo and Friends is the worst thing to happen to EPCOT other than that Mickey Mouse wand monstrosity that we finally had trashed.

I miss Seabase Alpha and the hydrolators.
The glory that was The Living Seas has been replaced by a Finding Nemo attraction. Sad.

Just came back from there.
They totally ruined this attraction. I saw it back in 86 and again in 2002, they ruined it turning it into a tie in for their "FINDING NEMO" movie.
They still have the dolphins, and the Manities, but not much else. It's all realted to that dumb movie.
Horrible, but my daughter did enjoy the ride.
